African champions, the Super Falcons of Nigeria, will look to further consolidate their position in group D against the Matildas of Australia.

The Super Falcons battled to a hugely entertaining 3-3 draw with Sweden - ranked number 5 in the world by FIFA; whilst the Matildas fell 1-3 to the 2012 Olympic champions, the USA.

A win by either side would surely be a massive step towards securing a last 16 slot.

Oshoala and Courtney Dike

We must do everything humanly possible to beat Australia. With a win against them, we should go for the jugular against USA and if we get a draw eventually, it is all well and good. I see us beyond this group.

I thought Nigeria against Australia was our last match. They should have allowed us play all our tough opponents and then use the anger to get maximum 3 points from Australia.

yes o,we need to win Australia abeg cos USA is a strong team. If we win Australia n draw with the US we r making the knock out stage hopefully. Our girls r good but the defence is terrible and the coaching is a mess. the coach needs to buckle up.

For the first time in the history of the FIFA women's world cup, the tournament will have best losers.Meaning four best 3rd-placed team from Groups A-F, will advance to the round of 16 together with the top two teams in each group.
Thus we cud lose to USA(not a huge defeat tho) and still advance provided we defeat the Aussies..It's looking bright 4 us, and having recorded three goals already, we stand a better chance of progressing.. We jst have to beat Australia come Friday and Voila! We are there!

If you watched the Australia vs USA game then you will realize that Nigeria has already played their easiest game in the group.

If the Nigerian technical crew can drill the girls on their defensive organization and set pieces positioning, then be rest assured that they will beat both the US and Australian teams either separately or jointly grin grin grin.

I have started bragging again today at work after surviving yesterdays game when my heart was on a pendulum swinging back and forth.

grin funny guy.
You're on point tho. If the defensive organization on set pieces is improved, I see the Super Falcons making a deep run into the tournament.
