My strong advice to any recent medical graduate in Nigeria is:Give ur self 2 to 3 years post graduation.
Complete your internship and youth service.
And then leave Nigeria.....
Take PLAB, EFMG, USMLE, australia or canadian board etc and leave o!
A word is enough for the wise...
why

I'm in 3rd year & studying in Ghana but I'll probably return to Nigeria to practise. Do I have to do my housemanship in Nigeria or take any exams before I can practise there?
Ask other Nigerians who finished from Ghana. They'll be best placed to answer you. There may be an easier route for Ghana-trained doctors because of the similar training patterns and Nigerian residents even go for exams in Ghana. Finally, why are you so keen on practising here? Why not USMLE instead? Why spend all that money in Ghana only to come back? Which sch are you in? UCC?

Okay tnx... bt i still have a problem. i.e
comprehension. i learnt that as an mbbs
student u would have to do voluminous work!
but my problem is dat i easily forget wat i study
thereby makin me to study over and over
again. So i want to ask! If i get the admission Godwilling, is it advisable to use brain booster
to study? cos i knw its not normal
forgetin...maybe medical problem... becus if i
get the admission i would love to get 1st class
or its equivalent in medicine. thanks.
You dont need any brain booster, most of them have bad side effects. Stay away from them totally. With systematic continuous & repeatitive study you ll grab it. Truth is to be a Doctor from UNN doesnt come easy

Wow! I'm so happy that this thread made fp after three years. I've been following tho i've not fully subscribed....

The then sec. school boy (me) is now a medical aspirant and the then medical student (Sir Lagusta) is now a Medical Doctor.

Interesting!!!

Kudos to sir Lagusta, Lomaxx, Thewhizkid, oluafolabi, simba1, DrHesjay, IkembaCMD, and all those who have touched lives (like me) positively in this thread.

Keep the light on!

Most Universities use Biochemistry,Anatomy, and other allied courses.I think you should find out from people if the course is requirement for d.e into med & surg. And why go to S.E?.There are also good S.W medical schools and there will be a higher chance of you entering them.
