Hi Chebyshev,

You don't have to buy the book, however I just checked now and it is still about £34. Probably you added postage cost to it.

Nevertheless, you can use RoadtoIELTS as it is very good and informative. Also, you can use some websites like IELTS blog, IELTS buddies, youtube etc.

Yes, I evaluated both my BSc and MSc certificates because I knew I would have to claim points that I have 2 post secondary studies. Also, I read about how some applications were rejected because they did not provide the ECA for their BSc as they had evaluated only MSc. Though, there might be other reasons for the rejection though.

Hi Shyee,

Good to know you finally got your TRF.

How I wish I could help with this issue, unfortunately I did not experience the issue. I just had about 30mins delay before I got the message to create a profile on Job bank.

Maybe, you should try and recreate the profile and see if it will work.

Please can you help me with the list of provinces that offer pnp without you having a relative in canada? please.

Shyee and Olawunmif,

Although I did not experience this issue, I copied this advise from Canadavisaforum on what to check if your profile is ineligible:

In creating your EE profile, kindly pay close attention to the following:
1. Settlement Province -- any one other than Quebec
2. Work history and Primary NOC -- ensure that you have entered the same NOC in your work history section, showing that you have one or more year experience. Ensure that the hours per week worked Is 30 or more
3. Proof of funds: ensure that you entered 20000 and not 2000
4. IELTS -- ensure you are entering the correct scores and the correct date of your exam for both you and your spouse
5. ECA -- ensure that you entered yes that it was done and that you entered the Certificate number
Good luck!!!!! I hope you will find the error very soon.

.

I hope this might help to detect the issue

i dont know how to thank you enuff dupsyshoo. after reading your response i realized, i was using hours per day instead of hours per week in all the trials. i redid it properly and just entered the pool again after 5 trials today (now i av 6profiles ineligibile...lol).. the power of unity cant be underestimated. thanks alot. Im bk in the race

thanks for your concern.
the error page asks me to try again after 24 hours if i meet the minimum requirement. guess, that is what i will do before i decide to create a new profile.

First check yourself against the background of FSW point grid in which you have to have 67/100. It's also a factor sometimes when people's profile are ineligible. You can google six selection factors, you will see the link. Assess yourself there first to ensure you have at least 67/100 before the other things mentioned by dupyshoo

Please can you help me with the list of provinces that offer pnp without you having a relative in canada? please.

New Brunswick(you have to check their site for information as they have modified the initial information they gave out)
Nova Scotia(they have just 350 spaces and has been on since January, i think. There's a list of occupation in which your work experience must fall into one of them before you can apply. You may check their site for more details)
Saskatchewan
Prince Edward Island(still available and they did not indicate that you need to know someone there, but the province is somehow. Surrounded by water and population is just 150,000 meaning, opportunities there might not be much and you may have to learn fishing to survive grin)
Ontario(if you score more than 400 in your crs but, they are the ones that will contact you themselves to apply and it appears they've only contacted those who entered the pool in June, not very sure about that though. Also, there's an application fee of 1,500CAD attached so, you might wanna.... wink )

if you and your spouse can score very high in your ielts, you can have maximum points for transferrability.
i think the 'come to canada' tool is also a good place to explore your options.

Thanks again. Will do some reading.

Hello Henmaris,
can i ask in which sector one can get survival jobs with the first aid certification,
Thank you.

henmaris:
Hello everyone,
Its a month today since I arrived Canada and would like to share my observation/experience so far.Canada is a very nice country with friendly people.I'm based in Edmonton;for those of u whose destination is Edmonton, the first and smartest possible tip of getting a survival job on arrival is obtaining a first aid certificate as soon as u get here. Its a 2days course and I did that just 3days after arriving Canada and got a job 2 weeks later. Its an asset for most jobs. There are public libraries in the cities. As a beginner if u don't yet have internet connection at home you can always go to the library to browse and apply for jobs.U apply for most jobs online and are called up for an interview if u meet their requirements.U can also walk into some offices and submit your resume.
Regarding housing, houses are quite expensive especially looking at it as a new immigrant who just relocated without a job yet but the good news is bills are inclusive in the rents except electricity and its quite easy getting a survival job which u can earn up to to 18$an hour.I got an apartment two weeks after arriving.U can get an apartment between 750-900$ (1 bedroom).
Cost of living is very expensive so as soon as u arrive its necessary to learn how to shop wisely. At the start get the basics and with time u will live the kind of life u want after all Canada is a country without limitations and u can pursue your highest dream for as long as u stay focus and are smart enough to follow ur dreams. There is no discrimination,it may exist but its minimal and u r hired as long as u qualify for a job.

In fact, for everyone still in the waiting process, I wish u all the best, patience is the key and u will definitely get your hearts desire soonest. For those of u who will be coming to Edmonton, should u need any advice u can always pm me and I'll gladly help.
Best of luck to FSW APPLICANTS AND THOSE IN THE EXPRESS ENTRY POOL.
Good day

Calculating work experience for FST

Work experience can be calculated by adding up the number of weeks of full-time (or equivalent in part-time) paid work in a skilled trade occupation (e.g. 30 hours per week in one job over a two-year period, 15 hours per week in one job over a four-year period, or a total of at least 30 combined hours per week in more than one job over a two-year period).

Calculating work experience for FSW

Work experience can be calculated by:
adding up the number of continuous weeks of full-time (or equivalent in part-time) paid work (i.e., 30 hours/37.5 hours per week in one full-time job, a combined total of at least 30 hours/37.5 hours per week in more than one part-time job,
15 hours per week in one part-time job over a period of two years, etc) in one or more skilled occupations at Skill Type 0 (Managerial occupations), Skill Level A (Professional occupations) or B (Technical occupations and skilled trades) of NOC 2011.

Note the difference in work duration (in years) for the FST and FSW. that was where i made a mistake.

thanks jesusdway, olawunmif, dupyshoo et al that keep this thread interesting.
God bless.

If you have any bulk amount transfered into your account you must back it up with proof of how you come about it. As for how far back, it can be 3 months or 6 months statement of accounts

It's all on the CIC site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp

But...

(Please note that this info does not apply to the Federal Skilled Trades Program)

1) Determine your eligibility by doing this CIC quiz http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp

2) Get your language test(s) done. You must get at least CLB 7 in each of the four sections for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC) streams. But getting CLB 10 gives you maximum points for language.

How does CLB match back to the language tests? That info is here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp

3) Get your qualifications assessed by doing an Education Credential Assessment. Details here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assessment.asp

4) Determine the code that best applies to you on the National Occupation Classification (NOC) list http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp

The occupation must be NOC 0, A, or B for FSW or CEC.

5) When you have those in hand you create your express entry profile. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/profile.asp and register for the Job Bank http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/home-eng.do?lang=eng

You'll be given points based on your age, education, number of years work experience, and language skills. The points system is detailed here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

You'll be in a pool with thousands of other applicants http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/pool.asp

Of course, the more points you have the better. The max is 1200, with 600 of those points coming from your ability to snag a PNP or a job offer with a very hard to get Labour Market Impact Assessment http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/lmo-basics.asp

For CEC applicants, the max is 600 but someone who has no work experience in Canada who is only eligible for FSW can only get up to 520 points.

6) Finally, wait for your invitation to apply (ITA). But in the interim you will need to do the following:

a) Have your application fee (C$550 for principal applicant) and right of permanent resident fee (C$490 each for principal applicant and spouse) ready
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp

b) Identify how you will provide proof of funds http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

c) check out what is required for the police certificates http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

d) find out how long it takes to get a date for the medical exam. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp

e) contact previous and current employers about them providing job letters. You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week. Work experience while you were a full-time student does not count.

f) research cities in the province(s) where you want to live

Hi Guys, please I need some help!smiley Is there anyone in the house who has gotten his PR that can send me a sample of employment reference letter he/she submitted to immigration. I would really appreciate it if someone will be kind enough to send me one as I want to use it as a guide for my employer in Naija. I have been in Canada as a student for a while now, so I don't really know how Naija employers write employment reference letters, and I'm sure it will be totally different from how it's written here in Canada. For privacy issues, you can remove your name, the company name and any personal information that you wouldn't want to disclose smiley I just want to know what should go in the letter and what not to put.

My email address is lil_lystra@yahoo.com

Thanks.

Hi Henmaris! First, welcome to Canada! smiley I hope you are enjoying your stay in Edmonton, I lived there for a year before moving back to Calgary. I wanted to ask for a favor from you. Would it be possible for you to send me a sample of the employment reference letters you submitted to immigration? I have been in Canada for a while as a student, and I want to use my Naija employment to apply for FSW so I need a sample to send to my Naija employer so that he could have an idea on how to go about writing the letter. For privacy issues, you can remove any personal information. I will highly appreciate it if you can be able to send me this. My email address is lil_lystra@yahoo.com Also feel free to contact me if you have question(s). Thanks.

1.does documents refer to certificates only or is transcript included?

2.Who does WES address the documents to?exams and records?registrar or Pg school as that is where the documents were sent from.I really need answers to these questions because I need to know who to speak with in school to facilitate the verification process and to prevent the docs from missing in transit.
