I'm almost rounding up my MBA (Masters in Business Administration) studies here in Nigeria.I've asked several people about the possibility of an MBA holder to go for a PhD in management but I've not gotten a good positive or negative answer.. Pls can anyone here be of help to me? I need so much informations regarding this issue.

2) Aside an MBA degree, (As a management student) which other Masters program is highly profitable in the corporate world especially here in Nigeria because I'm planning to travel to the UK next year for another Masters Degree, but I'm kind of confused which to apply for after I'm through with my MBA here in Nigeria...

You can go for your PHD, but that will be outside the shores of Nigeria, cox Nigeria Uni don't accept MBA graduate for admission into post doctoral degree.

Just completed mine and planning to do my post doctoral in south africa.

Browse through universities in South africa, university of Pretoria accepts MBA for PHD buh ur cumulative average must be from 60point and above.

I think one need to go for Mphil first,before furthering into Phd jst finished mine in U.I.

Yes, you must complete MPhil before you can get PhD admission. That's just the requirement if you have just MBA.

MBA can go for PhD only you may admitted as mphil for nine months though depend on d university n ur grade at MBA

Yes, you must complete MPhil before you can get PhD admission. That's just the requirement if you have just MBA.

M.Phil and M.sc are similar if not the same in many cases. However it is not possible in Nigeria at the moment

You need to do Mphil after your MBA or you just proceed to do your Msc. But Mphil is about 1yr, so after your MBA instead of going to do MSc for your Phd, just go for Mphil then you can proceed. Scools like Ignatius Ajuru Univerity in Portharcourt do Mphil 9 months.

Well.. I just completed my MBA. Its also rigorous. In fact we took more courses that MSc, our exams were similar and we also did seminars including class & group presentations.

Just abt to start mine in Jan, but since one can't proceed for PhD in same field in Nigeria, is it advisable to continue or should i switch to Masters in Business Admin.. My head is just full.. Pls reply me

It depends on your career intentions. If you wish to lecture in the future; do MSc. But if you wish to go professional, continue with your MBA.
