What if the sponsor is my dad's friend? His state of origin is different from mine.

Bros let us reason this thing together, let's assume you're the VO and I'm you. You know how bad the situation in my Country is, and you know a lot of people from my country are running to your country and to other countries. Your work here in my country is to disallow people coming to your country for the wrong reasons, and then I tell you I want to undergo an advanced diploma program lasting for two years in your country, even when I already have HND and PGD. Honestly speaking, what will first come to your mind? I'm not saying you can't get visa with the diploma program, but you will need to convince the VO really hard as to why you want to go for that program again.
My advise, go for that PGD, you should be able to apply for a master's program in that same school just before the end of your pgd, and then you can renew your study permit from within Canada. The most difficult aspect I think is getting the Initial study permit, renewal shouldn't be too difficult.

As for the sponsor, bros even if the person is from Kano and you are from Owerri, it doesn't matter, where the work is is in the sponsorship letter, it has to be very very realistic and convincing......it doesn't have to be true.....lol

Another thing is if he doesn't declare his Pgd credentials.....
With HND u can get a direct entry to do a 2year advanced diploma...Or even a UG program in a university..he cud get direct entry...

Because him having a PGD and going for a PGD is repetition for me.

Don't make any payment, except the deadline for the payment will elapse soon. Just make sure you have your tuition either with you, or in your account, just in case of border issues. But as long as the deadline is not close, and there is no instruction on your admission letter to pay tuition fees before your arrival in Canada, pls dont bother paying anything!

You're very correct! I thought about the repetition thing too. Was wondering why he applied for a pgd and not masters. But felt probably the school doesn't wanna take our pgd so he wanna have a pgd there and then proceed to masters. If he can convincingly argue this point in his SoP it should fly, I believe!
My fear with not declaring his pgd is with the academic history gap.......what would he say he was doing during that time? Idle? Wasting time?

am just confused ....chatting with a girl in Canada about funds.. she was like if u coming into Canada with USD that Canada would rubbish it for u cos they also try to protect the CAD against USD cos it getting weaker

she said they would convert it like 1 USD -1 CAD

and foreign ATM charges ar killing
