Beautiful mind brother, just like you told me few weeks ago. I said that you should be careful when you read Paul's writings, You said no problems, You are in charge(of course GOD is in charge and the charge), but also you are also in charge. nice understanding brother.
The instant change from mortality to immortal however is not instant, it will take time, As you know, GOD is not a magician. It will look as if it is instant in some people, but these people had been preparing before this day. while the rest would take some training, education and rituals (lessons by experience).
Before the age of wickedness(this era that is going out), it take 70 years to complete education (to be a graduate). it starts at 7 and ends at 77 years. after which is the 40 days test (temptation), which Jesus took, Moses took, Fard Muhammad took, Elijah took, even Malcolm X took.
But Malcolm failed his first attempt, He is going to do it again. you will do yours, i will do mine. when this test starts, we won't even know.

Now, This present world would be put in such distress that the people will be so scared up to the extent of taking their own lives, and this is just from rumours of wars, and earthquakes (most) 40 miles away from the land/coast. it will begin to happen on land more frequently now, sinkholes, hails, hailstorms, swelling lakes and rivers, diseases, heavy rain and winds etc, tribal wars and wars. suddenly a fake jesus who infact is not Jesus would come to say he will take them away to heaven somewhere. people would not go even the so called born-again if there is no pranks here. This is my take.

The sun darkening, the moon not giving her light and the stars falling from heaven (Mathew 24:29) should not be interpreted like it is going to happen literally. The sun will not quench in the skies, the moon will not fail to reflect the suns' light, and the smallest star is several times bigger than the earth, so stars falling from the skies to the earth is mathematically impossible.

In the Bible, Darkening of the sun or the moon or falling of the stars is used to describe periods of great turbulence and serious trouble.

Isaiah 13:10
For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.

Ezekiel 32:7
And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.

Joel 2:10
The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:

Joel 3:15
