Don't get it twisted: Grace is not a hiding point for Sin, But a point of redemption unto righteousness, that's to say grace is not an excuse to enjoy leaving a sinful life, like many mistook it to be. Too many people these days hide under grace to cheat, lie, fornicate and engaged in the sins that kills the spirit and soul. They are like a man who goes into a nursing mothers home, when her husband wasn't at home, rape her, beat her up and take up her new born babe and put a knife on the little babe's throat and cut it, why he made the babe's mother to watch the painful murder of her new born babe; he stole all the money in the house and ran away. When the police received the report, they hunted and caught the man; took him to court, he cried and showed great amount of remorse, so that the woman he did the great evil to pitied him, she and her husband begged the judge to have mercy and set him free, the judge being compassionate, listened to the woman and dismissed the case from the court. The man went home rejoicing for his freedom. A year later the woman got pregnant again, after nine months she gave birth to a bouncing babe boy. On a day her husband wasn't around, the same man came again rape her, beat her up and cut her babe throat why she watch in agony. The matter as well was reported to the police and the police caught the man and took him to court. The man Cried and cried and sworn never in his life to do such a thing again, he showed more remorse that was so touchy that he was forgiven once more. But, I tell you this woman will not continue to forgiven him. Many christians have taken grace for granted they keep sinning so much more that they made a particular sin their life style because they believe grace is always their for them. Romance 6:1-2 says "What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?  By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?" We must not continue in sin. Many of us mistook because the gift of God is still at work in our lives, believed that our sins are not counted, the logic are mostly like "if God is not with us he will take away his gift" let me shock you sir, the gift of God are without repentance, that's why Jesus will wait for you at the last day, when you think you have out smarted everybody to tell you " get you behind me you workers of iniquity" and you will be like no sir "I spoke in tongues, I saw visions, I heal the sick, I did all that in your name" Jesus will quote 1 John 3:7-8  "Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.  The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work" you think you are smart to give sin a color hahahha Jesus caught you right there.
1John 1:9 says"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" here is grace right here and now.

What's your understanding of sin?

these are my understanding of sins. Gala 5:19  The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Why are they sins?

How is it now that sin and the lifestyle has become the other of the day even among Christians, while we claim to have grace and live in the dispensation which covers our sins?

Yes it is true we live in the dispensation of grace and all our sins had been paid for and covered by Christ Jesus, but continuing in sin because of the dispensation we are in is total misconstrueing of grace and very graven.

Grace rather is the empowerment to live the supernatural life which is above sin, we don't continue to sin because we have grace, but rather we have grace which gives us the enablement not to continue in sin. Sin is supposed to be frowned at and rebuked by us all in this dispensation, even as the early Christians stood and spoke against it with great tenacity. Grace is supposed to make us live differently and not conform to the pattern of this world, but in as much as there is no difference in our lives in contrast with others, then we are yet to encounter Christ or grace.

We cannot continue in sin and expect His grace to speak for us because grace and sin do not mix, it is either you have grace (Christ) and live above sin or you continue in sin as a sign of graceless and Christ-less life.

Flee from sin if you want to live!

Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

1 Timothy 5:20

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein.

But I have this to say concerning ur example, no matter ow many times one sins in as much as he comes back for forgiveness he wiill be forgiven. But the main concern is this, will someone that have encounter Christ persist in sin? The answer definitely is no, a christian is not a sinner and a sinner is not a Christian.

Now we cannot deny that a xtian sins sometimes, so ow do we relate it? Simple, persisting in sin is different from some sinning as a mistake which we sometimes commit as christians. To us christians sin is not a lifestyle and we do not persist in it, but to unbeliever sin is a lifestyle n they continue in it.

Not really friend, God know everyone of us indivdually n what is in our hearts, and no one can decieve Him. It all comes from the heart, one that live a lifestyle of sin means that d heart is yet to be purified n still under bondage.

When one understand the principle of sin he will understand better. The issue is nt the many sins we commit bt the principle of sin which is at work in the life of unregenerated man. It is the priinciple of sin which is the root that brings about the many other siins, when the root is done away with then the many sins wiill nt be an issue cos with time they will leave.

The most important thing is growth, when one is growin as a xtian then the less sin he commits n d more he grow to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. Remember we are all growiing to maturiity, so when the heart is right n one is growin in Christ, he mk liittle mistake n cannnt persist in sin neither will he sin delibrately n God will surely forgives him when he sins or mk mistake.

the bible says guide ur heart with all diligence, we are to leave above sins and we are to believe is possible to leave a righteous life. What you are saying is that is impossible to leave righteous life, I use to believe that too my brother, until I started believing is possible to leave without sin, I was so surprised how God through the power of faith in Jesus and my believe for him to help me made all that possible. When we put our desires aside and foolishly trust God we will be amazed.

Read again bro and u will understand what I am saying, I never said we cant live above sin. I am talking about practicality, we dont just give our lives to Christ n start living above sin or victoriously. There is always a period of growth to maturity which is what I am emphasizing, as we mature the life of Christ is being manifested in us n we live overcomingly in Him.

why do u think u had issues with sin before overcoming? It was definitely cos u were yet a babe, bt as u mature u discover it was acheivable n u did. Growing to maturity entails so many things, bt sure time factor is sure siignifiicant.

when u get born again, we automatically have the power to leave above sin, and sin is far away from us, that was my experience when I first got born again. But as I grow my faith got tested and I wasn't properly built up by word of God and I went back to sin believing grace covered me and is impossible to leave above sin. When Jesus came for me and spoke to me in my room, after that encounter, my life changed and my believe changed. With proper study of the word of God one can leave above sin from start to finish.
John 5:4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

No problem if all u can decipher from what I have there is not living above sin then there is nothing I can do, but for emphasis sake, when we gave our lives to Christ we have the power to live above sin but sometimes we do make mistake which does not negate the fact that we still have the power. But as we grow we fully mature to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ Jesus, also meditating on the word daily hasten ouor growth.
