VANITIES OF LIFE (CHIEF DEINDE FERNANDEZ R.I.P)

He was born in Lagos southwestern Nigeria into the Fernandez family that originated from Brazil and the first European migrant to Lagos State. He has been in diplomacy since 1996.In 1982, he served as advisor to the Angolan Government on Economic matter. He held this position for two years until his appointment as Deputy Permanent Representative of Mozambique to the United Nations in 1984.He runs an oil company called Petro Inett which obtained a 50% share with South African-based Energy Africa Limited in a deal with the state oil company for exploration rights in a 4,700 km2 area of Angola's coast in 1996.[2] In 1992, he was appointed as Special Adviser to the President of Mozambique on International Economic Matters, a position he held for three years.

He was formerly married to Aduke Fernandez, whom he divorced in July 2003 following a £ 300m divorce suit in Scotland filled on July 1, 2003 by her counsel.Lord Brodie presided over the case. He was asked by Aduke through her counsel, Charles Macnair QC, to compel Chief Fernandez to pay her a lump sum of £ 5m and an allowance of £75,000 monthly for 3 years but the case was dismissed by the court. She died in 2013. He married Halima in 2003.

Chief Fernandez is the father of Princess Antoinette Oyinkansola Fernandez, from his relationship with the current Erelu Kuti of Lagos.

Chief Fernandez is the father of Abimbola Fernandez, a Nigerian model for Vivienne Westwood during Edinburgh Fashion Week. In 2009 her face was the album cover for platinum selling artist Cobra Starship's CD "Hot Mess".She also modeled for the cover of the single "Good Girls Go Bad".

He died on the 1st of September , 2015 in Belgium.

Chief Fernadez lived life like a king . He has one of the best yacht and private jet in the world . One of the biggest mansion in England, France and many part of the world .

I first got attracted to this man when Ovation did a cover of him and he took 40 pages of the magazine at that time . He was the richest man in African then as Dangote is today. His walking stick was made of pure gold , his shoes the best of snake and leopard skin like Mobutu Sese Seko his friend .He was so powerful because of his money . Everything in his mansion is made of gold .

With all these money , I have never heard he has a foundation taking care of the less privilege or granting of educational scholarship to poor bright kids . Rather , the only things I know about him is his life of opulence and splendor . I can confidently say he was one of the men who redefine exotic high street fashion in modern Africa .

He has SIX Private Jets. He Owns A Chateau In France, Once Occupied By Napoleon Bonaparte, The Emperor Of France. Friend Of Mobutu. Ally Of Kofi Annan. Associate Of Mandela. I Call Him The Emperor of Blinding Swagger. Terrific Swagger. He Is So Classy That Whenever He Enters A Restaurant To Eat, Everyone Else Must Leave Because He Cannot Eat With The 'Commoners'. He Takes Over Entire Restaurants For The Night To Avoid Encountering 'RiffRaff'. (Chai! Poor Man Don Suffer). Of All The Richest Nigerians I Know, None Comes Close To This Man When It Comes To The Level Of Style, 'Tooshness' & Money-Backed Aloofness. After all of these he still ran away from his gold house to lived in an hotel for months after he fell out with his wife and they later divorce. Money cannot buy true love after all.

There is absolutely nothing on earth . Every little time and money you have make sure you use some for those around you who need your help . The best investment in life is to invest in human beings because when you die you will be remembered in the good book of history and those people you help will make you live forever even though you are gone .

Everyday life teaches us a lesson . As much as I sympathies with his family over his loss and may his soul Rest in peace , I also seek to use this moment to task us on how we are living our lives . It's time for sober reflection , life is too short and there is absolutely nothing in life . It's all vanities .Start helping out the poor today

Oh common now, he might have been doing these things in the background, given his kind of person he might not be one to court attention and so his philantrophy might have been anonymous. Cause its very difficult to be this wealthy and not affect lives positively whether knowingly or not. I've always heard of the family name but didnt know it was this big.

Don't mind them...someone that shows he is helping lives they will say he is showing off...if he does not show it they will assume and still say he is not doing anything just because they have not seen news talking about it and they continue saying nonsense.....some Nigerians and hypocrisy are like bread and butter..
