VDS had poor spells Started with promise well above average in Ajax. Went full reetard in Juve and Fulham. Had good stints in Man utd especially around 2009-2010 and his weakness for shots on his Left hand side. Still had the experience to make it work in Man utd.

It can be argued that he might not have world class talent but his calmness and experience made him at least a very good keeper e.g Jens Lehmann

If most mention the top 5 keepers of the past 20yrs VDS might be omitted in many evaluations

The Desailly that played in Chelsea wasn't World class, Same with Robben, Veron, Weah, Ballack, Shevchenko, Mutu All these played their best football away from Chelsea(I would also argue Makalele played his best footie in Madrid). Carvalho was very close to world class for like 2 season, Terry has never been world class in his career, Drogba was inconsistent. He would play 3 world class games and 7 mediocre ones. The Drogba in Marseille was a beast though

With the elongated careers of the afforementioned goalies (and goalies generally) , its still a bit too early for Neuer to be mentioned in their set. He still has atleast 4 -5 more years to maintain his status as a worldclass goalie - let's see if he would be successful or we see if he ends up at Monaco or Zenit St Petersburg in 2 years time.

I won't necessarily have regarded Mutu as world class at the time he arrived at Chelsea. I would have called him a Suarez-like success in the Dutch league. Suarez himself would not have been called World Class at the time he arrived at Liverpool. I agree with Dayo also that Robben would not have been World Class at his time at Chelsea.

He went from Chelsea's 1st team to Madrid's 1st team after winning 2 EPL titles in England and won the La Liga in his 1st season at Madrid.
