Nihilist what do you think about my list. Help me add some other boxing fans whose names i didn't mention .I'd like to see their lists and what they think about mine. |
Re: My Top 15 Pound For Pound Boxers Of All Time by Nihilist: 6:50pm On Sep 28, 2015 |
I didn't watch them Joe Louis and sugar ray so I can't really rate them. What I know is that, you can't have 200 fights in the modern era. 200 fights? One round with a Deontay Wilder or golovkin is enough punishment for a lifetime let alone 12 rounds times 200. Afrodoc2 please come and give your opinion. I think Starboard is also quite knowledgable about the sport |
Re: My Top 15 Pound For Pound Boxers Of All Time by Nobody: 6:59pm On Sep 28, 2015 |
Nihilist: I didn't watch them either but with over 500 videos in my collection, I feel like i was alive then.I've watched virtually everyone of their famous fights. Lol i believe the old guys were harder punchers though. 1 punch of marciano or jack johnson no be beans na |
Re: My Top 15 Pound For Pound Boxers Of All Time by Nihilist: 7:08pm On Sep 28, 2015 |
Aareonakakanfo: Damn that's quite an impressive collection. Anyway I think those guys mostly fought bums in those days when pro boxing wasn't a lucrative career and most of those guys were just bricklayers and farm labourers who fought in the weekend. You can't have 200 fights in the era from 1980-2015. Body go tell you. |
Re: My Top 15 Pound For Pound Boxers Of All Time by Nobody: 7:18pm On Sep 28, 2015 |
Nihilist: Lol i think the major reason for the emboldened is due to the fact that a lot of rules have been tampered with. P.S i go soon join una for that football thread.Forza milan |
Re: My Top 15 Pound For Pound Boxers Of All Time by chic2pimp(m): 8:51pm On Sep 28, 2015 |
Aareonakakanfo: You support the Great Milan? . No vex for my surprised expression o just that we are a dying breed on NL. Back to the post, great list btw. Ali Sugar Ray Robinson Sugar Ray Leonard Floyd Mayweather Marvin Hagler(Marvellous Himself) Roy Jones Jr Lennox Lewis Pernell Whittaker(only floyd rivals him as far as defensive skills is concerned. Peerless!) Smoking Joe George Foreman Julio Chavez(the greatest mexican of them all) Joe Luis Roberto Duran Tommy Hearn |
Re: My Top 15 Pound For Pound Boxers Of All Time by Nobody: 9:20pm On Sep 28, 2015 |
chic2pimp: Lol na so we see milan ooo. Thank God say i don see person wey dey support my club lol. Back to your list, I think that's a great list between i think sweet pea and james toney are better in defense than floyd though, just my opinion. I also think Locche is the greatest of them all defensively. You need to watch that man. Watching him is like watching messi play, the guy is a piece of Art! |
Re: My Top 15 Pound For Pound Boxers Of All Time by Nobody: 10:08pm On Sep 28, 2015 |
Nihilist i see you lurking around. Have you watched locche fight? |
Re: My Top 15 Pound For Pound Boxers Of All Time by chic2pimp(m): 4:13pm On Sep 29, 2015 |
Aareonakakanfo: Dude we are indeed a very rare and special breed. The only dude that matches Floyd's defensive ingenuity is imo Whittaker. Toney whilst being one of the greatest defensive boxer of all time is not on Floyd's level I believe. I have watched tapes of Locche. Easily one of top3-4 defensive boxers of all time. His reflexes are out of this world. The reason why i'd still rate sweet pea over him is simply because of the footwoork. Pernell's was much better. |

chic2pimp: Hahaha na soo my brother but bone ooo don't you think Locche was more of an alien? I don't think that guy is a normal human being. The only guy who made kid pambelle look like a mugun He does it with so much ease Let me put list my top 5 defensive boxers for you Locche Sweet pea Whitaker James toney Floyd Mayweather Naseem hameed Abeg watch this meanwhile i already created a serie A thread i'm waiting for the mods to move it to the european leagues section. Please contribute https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWuBdlEPOzo |
Re: My Top 15 Pound For Pound Boxers Of All Time by chic2pimp(m): 4:52pm On Sep 29, 2015 |
Aareonakakanfo: He was definitely a freak of nature. Even though His footwork was not that great, His upper body motion more than compensated for that. It's ridiculous. You simply could not touch that Cigar Lighting Mofo.....As much as I love The Prince,(anyone who knows me can attest to that) I won't have him in my top 10 never mind top 5 defensive boxers. Now If we are talking strictly about reflexes then He is definitely in. |

With regards to the Seri A thread, No problem will have a look. Oh btw there is also Juve thread too. |
Re: My Top 15 Pound For Pound Boxers Of All Time by Nobody: 4:55pm On Sep 29, 2015 |
chic2pimp: The major reason why i included naseem is not neccessarily because he's defensive, I'd rather put it like this he's hard to hit because he's a clown. He keeps messing around but my opinions are subject to change though maybe if i see someone who's more defensive i might consider that |

Re: My Top 15 Pound For Pound Boxers Of All Time by A40(m): 5:31pm On Sep 29, 2015 |
Aareonakakanfo:Wladimir won't make my list but Vitali would. He had a chin made from titanium and was never knocked down. Woulda beaten Lennox easily if not for that eye cut |
Re: My Top 15 Pound For Pound Boxers Of All Time by Nobody: 5:35pm On Sep 29, 2015 |
A40: Well! we all have our preferences but maaan lennox was a beast too oo |
Re: My Top 15 Pound For Pound Boxers Of All Time by chic2pimp(m): 5:44pm On Sep 29, 2015 |
Aareonakakanfo: This actually made me chuckle a bit Aareonakakanfo: Naseem reflexes were just insane. Much like Roy jones. Pity He never had that much of a defense. Could have been one of the greatest ever. |
Re: My Top 15 Pound For Pound Boxers Of All Time by Nobody: 5:53pm On Sep 29, 2015 |

Re: My Top 15 Pound For Pound Boxers Of All Time by chic2pimp(m): 5:54pm On Sep 29, 2015 |
A40: Why Lennox accepted that fight in the first place beats me. He was clearly unfit(never seen him carry that much timber to a fight) and demotivated. That said, He was still to inflict so much damage to that eye. And yh He had one heck of a chin on him. Marvellous probably had the best chin considering the quality opponents he faced. A40: Tommy Hearn vastly underrated imo. |
