I never understood that line.
Didn't the season begin 8th August?
Or was Chelsea's season delayed by 3 months?
Maybe they have outstanding games due to the delay that's why they have only 11 points so far.

Is it a car engine that you keep starting each time it stalls?
Are they going to keep petitioning the fa to reset the league each time they claim their season is about to restart?

Abeg make una free Bimfo jor. He was only being very optimistic and positive about his team.

My gripe was where the optimism came from.

When the likes of Nateevs was screaming last season that we were stumbling along and just barely reaching the finish line, many thought I was looking for wahala where there existed none.

I cannot remember how many times I referred to our 'method of attack' and our increasing sole dependence on the brilliance of Hazard. I criticized JM many times for being too defence-centric in his approach to games.

I brought this up again in pre-season, highlighting how nothing had changed and how we may struggle this season. So it baffles me when I see such optimism being displayed.

And the reason I kept talking about this was simple. If you don't build a side that wins games on the back of the sheer amount of attacking chances created as a unit (not from the same individual time after time), when you need to score goals to get you out of big mess, it won't magically happen.

While many are complaining about how we are shipping goals, what about what we are creating in attack? Over 80 percent of our goals so far this season have come from either set-pieces or unforgivable errors by the opposition. We just cannot create enough clear-cut chances to score goals.

But the interesting thing is, it didn't start this season. For so long, it's been a problem. Since JM returned. Too many times we struggled to open up teams that were resolute at the back.

The philosophy has always remained questionable. If your first approach to winning a game is preventing the opposition from scoring, then some day, when the defensive unit is faulty, you will struggle to score goals. Because the 'method of attack' has always been weak.

JM cannot fix this. It is beyond him. Because the very solution to the problem is fundamentally in contrast to his philosophy of the game.

It's time for a change. This is an operational/tactical blunder allowed to carry on for so long, the effects are now manifesting in manner of an insurmountable mental uphill.

It's time to make a change. Because although it sounds implausible right now to many, we could very well be in a relegation battle very soon. There is bad blood and total disrespect for JM's approach from everyone - players, team medics, FA, referees and the media.

Succinctly put, the analysis is just perfect, the problem is quite fundamental for real. Infact, you stated the truth without fear nor favour, what's the truth? If the situation isn't addressed as soon as possible, relegation beckons.......forget those your other guys that are quite optimistic.

I have to disagree with Nateevs.

Last season, we did not struggle to create chances. We averaged almost 60% Possesion in the league.

While Hazard assumed the role of the 'game changer', Fabregas finished with the highest number of assists in the league. Ivanovic directly contributed to 9 or 10 league goals, and assisted the 'assister' in several more.

And while the team was fatigued towards the end of the season, historically and statistically speaking, fatigue is a common challenge to the top EPL teams post-January, given the frantic Christmas schedule.

We have struggled this year due to Jose's recalcitrant and arrogant outlook to the game but NOT due his perceived 'negative tactics'

Put simply, Na overskill dey worry Jose. I was listening to Stan Collymore on Talksport who reported rumours from Cobham that Chelsea's entire pre-season regime consisted of just 16 training sessions. Bear in mind that these sessions are usually a maximum of 2 hours long.

In addition to this, the players reportedly even got an extra week off ontop of the regular holiday period. The idea was that the Chelsea players would build up fitness as the season progressed. Imagine that?!

Well, that backfired spectacularly. Hazard came back looking decidedly chunky and Costa looked relatively obese compared to previous photos. Bar Willian, the players have looked out of gas quickly in our previous games. Mentally, they're still not there yet.

Jose has also made some baffling decisions. I don't believe Baba Rahman is so bad that a big lumbering centre back like Zouma is preferable to him.
The Falcao deal is just shocking on every level especially considering both manager and player share the same super agent.
The musical chairs scenario at centre back continues and djololobobodji or whatever his name is can't get a sniff.
Ivanovic is still assured a place in Jose's side and I wonder why. It's one thing to be beaten at pace by a speedy winger, but when Tadic can bamboozle you to the floor from a standing position, then you have to give serious consideration to the idea of early retirement

Then to further compound our woes, Jose has been engaging in off-field antics that seem to have divided the dressing room. I wonder particularly about Hazard's opinion on Jose's treatment of Eva...considering he was the player deemed in danger at the time.

So Jose has been ridiculously complacent, and that complacency has seeped very deeply into the dressing room. Coupled with his ridiculous off-field antics, questionable recruitment policy, and jaundiced team selections, it's easy to see how tactical instructions are the least culpable reasons for our current travails.

Quite simply, Overskills dey sunch...

Wow!
This is the most intelligent and objective Chelsea fan I have ever met.

The emboldened has been a point I have tried so hard to share but sentiments would not allow others to see.

Chelsea is in a dilemma; while it may seem right to sack Jose, yet it is very expensive, besides there are no top manager available for now apart from Ancelloti who already has had a stint.

One could risk any of those unsung heroes in some of those obscure leagues, for example Fatih Terim.

What do you think?

You have to agree that the quality of teams in the EPL has also improved. I think that's where Jose got it all wrong at the beginning of the season and he can't do much about it anymore. He underrated a lot of teams which is haunting him now, he knows where the weakness in the team is but he thought he was going to have a free ride like last season. Those teams he underrated has gotten some decent managers and players and make the quality you face every week a daunting task.

January is not too far though, he can get the right personnel he needs but he has to look at his tactics board once again, review it and make necessary adjustment. He can still salvage the season but he has to admit it that he has got it all wrong somewhere.

You guys are not ready to pull the bull by the horn. I remember you were in this similar dilemma in 2013, and you guys sacked Di Matteo(UCL winner), and employed Benitez. That decision made Chelsea win an European title.

Mourinho cannot last a month in Barcelona with these poor results. Barca will rather sack him and employ Xavi as head coach (Who knows the Barca philosophy) if there are no top coaches available.

The truth is Chelsea fans know the right thing to do(SACK THE DAMN COACH), but sentiments and emotions will be cloud their reasoning. Maybe when Chelsea shares same spot with Aston Villa, their eyes go clear.

Inasmuch as I respect your thoughts they actually betray themselves.

Would you consider that the current situation may be a long term effect of Jose's tactics? Wonder why he has not spent over three seasons at a single club?

Can you remember Hazard complaining last season that Chelsea 'don't play ball', same reason why Jose sold off Mata even though he was Chelsea's best player prior?

What was Jose's excuse for leaving Hazard, same old Hazard on the bench against Dinamo Kiev?

Jose's got no tactics- no good football.

Take a look at what Monk is doing wih Swansea.

I've been reading emenalo's yarns for a while now, and it has always been about transfer mishaps
I want to get something straight.. Is he buying players without jose's consent?
Is that even possible, given the kind of person Jose is and also the fact that something like this was part of what led to the end of the 1st romance.. Shevchenko comes to mind

Revert to type. . .

Go ultra-defensive. . .

Weather this storm. . .

Build on that. . .

Nothing strict instructions can't salvage.

Except if (as is most likely the case) the lads don't wanna play for the gaffer! Which would be a huge shame.

Not when Emenalo took Roman from losing £60m a year to the point where Chelsea hit breakeven.

Roman will never sack Emenalo.

Emenalo is a good business man, but a lousy football tactician. Roman doesn't know football, so he is just hapy that he is not losing money anymore.

But, Emenalo's eye for players is flawless. His signing of the likes of Mata, Hazard, Oscar, De Bruyne, Willian, David Luiz, Lukaku were brilliant and at good prices. His eyes for players is flawless. Just like the present young ones like Traore and Kennedy.
