How do you show us you are one of "the best sides"?

& what exactly is the message if I may ask?

So when players are nominated or shortlisted in the best category, does that mean all of them have won anything?
My point is that it is not just by honors, it is not a sole criteria or yardstick..... however you look at it.Dude this is the point
The message the poster passed is that MUFC is the worst team of the decade.... now that is debatable and contextual tongue
I don't agree with the worst tag but I may depending on the context or comparison parameters.

A few weeks ago, Martial was on fire....scoring at will and providing assists.

His form excited everyone (including me Ofcourse) but at the same time, I was apprehensive because we were actually looking up to a 19year old (who should still be adjusting to the rigors of the EPL, new team mates, life in England etc) for Miracles.

It may seem a bit too early to judge (and I sincerely hope I'm wrong on this) but the Martial I have seen in the last 2 games looks tired & burned out. If this is the case (I seriously hope otherwise), then we might have to brace ourselves up for ;

• An attack worse than the toothless and blunt one presently on show (In the top 8, our attack is only better than that of crystal palace as we speak)

• Subliminal shots at Martial by the dreaded English press...leading to unnecessary pressure on the young lad, which could have devastating effects on his growth & development.

TBH, I never liked the "New Henry" blahblahblah jargons - we all know what such comparisons have done to some talented "up & coming" players & the ultimate prayer is that he doesn't tow that line.

I hope Martial's Cool-headed nature bails us out of this potential mess

should we get jamie vardy if he is available in january? personally i have my doubt about him bringing his form at leicester to old trafford. for one,i think lvg's pragmatic philosophy could frustrate him.

what do you guys think?

If we get vardy or any other current sharp and top forward. Van El Gaal will change his destiny with the philosophy magic and turn him into a zombie. Abeg, even if we get a new player to score for us, trust the magic philosophy to do d transformation.

In case you don't have the table, here it is & Arsenal are 2 points below the worst team of the decade. Best case scenario, they will be 1 point ahead after nearly half a season.

This is interesting....... You can add Di Maria to the list. On a side note, Darmian shouldn't be playing for us. He's a Stoke City kind of player. He makes me miss Rafael so much

How there's still anyone who can't see how bang on average Rooney now is still beats me
He is now just a regular footballer
Not a single special thing about him anymore

He can no longer shoot, run, win an aerial ball, beat a man or pick a dangerous pass

An odion ighalo leading the line is a thousand times more effective than fatso
He can at least shoot and run even if he can't do any other thing

All these things lvg is doing will only make sense if the person taking over him is going to adopt a possession based system

Otherwise it will be very foólish of him to use his entire tenure to build a foundation his successor would immediately jettison..

We were lucky to get a wonderful player In Di Maria and LVG benched him for young and later sold him. Young that's still playing 2004 football! dribble to the bi line and wipe in hopeful crosses! No intricate passing, no inventiveness, zero goal threat. He doesn't even look up and try to pick a team mate. Young is a typical full back and he should always play in that position or sit on the bench.

Mata is LVG's perfect player....... zero Take on ability, no pace, very predictable and keeps it simply. Signature ability: cut in and recycle possession, occasional diagonal passes, rinse and repeat. His qualities makes him ill suited as a winger! Combined with darmian, our right wing becomes a dead zone.

Fellaini...... The less said about this dude, the better. Unfortunately, he's LVG ace when we badly need a goal.

in a fluid and fast setup, depay will definitely shine while Rooney will play better.

LVG has to go. He's a talent killer!

Rooney's substitution
Wayne was a little bit injured, you saw him limping. I also wanted to change a striker because they were not running in behind. I could have taken off [Anthony] Martial because he didn’t do that either, so that is why I changed Rooney, because he was a little bit injured.

@the bolded, what's really the problem?. Is it that our strikers don't play to his instructions, their movements are not spotted by our midfielders who don't play the pass and they stop running behind the defenders or he just made this up?

Fact is our midfielders hardly make penetrative forward pass. We seriously need a CMF.

We have a large number already in Morgan, Bastian, Carrick, Ander, Mata, Perreira. The issue is the philosophy, LVG insist on a possession, possession, yet even more possession philosophy and if any midfielder takes chances in possession that don't pay off immediately, they are quickly punished by being benched or pushed out of position e.g Mata, Herrera even Blind. Meanwhile our existing strikers don't have discipline or composure to bide their time, watching numerous backward and sideways passes, waiting for the once in a blue moon, when an incisive pass in behind is attempted. When we do try to play in behind, we have spent so long with over elaborate possession, that we have allowed the opposition to setup, giving the striker a mountain to climb with a defense already expecting the pass.

This isn't mostly the attacking players, its LVG instructions, tactics and approach.

Funny enough i completely understand LVG's desire to build a solid base, then expand it from there. Just look how Brendan Rodgers over focus on attack, failed Liverpool woefully eventually. Though, LVG has to understand that United, both fans and players, aren't accustomed to this type of deliberately drab and dour football, particularly when attacking is still a viable option. He had better hope that his system delivers results soon, else he could find himself in trouble.

Lucifer sef know say Martial go be world beater.
LvG should set the team up properly which unequivocally, start with dropping Wayne Rooney from the start11 & putting out a proper 4-3-3 with Herrera atop the middle -3-.. (allow them play freely)

If we don't average 3 goals per game by the end of the season, make I know wetin cause am undecided

you have said it all. thing is,we man.united have gotten so used to the "attack attack attack" mentality that we are reluctant to accept a system that does not seem to encourage attack. i just hope for lvg's sake and for the future that this is philosophy start.bearing fruits soon.

Did I not also support the idea of getting Ronaldo if he wants to come?

Even Garry Neville is calling for a match winner.
......................

He said: "If you put two more players into Manchester United's team, say a Gareth Bale or a Cristiano Ronaldo into that team, that team could win the league. Because the structure that is being built at this moment in time is solid.
"But they need that match-winner, that Neymar, that Luis Suarez, the one that is going to light up a game and score one or two goals to take it away, then all of a sudden they would look like a Barcelona, because they're dominating possession, making teams look foolish.
"Even in the last 15 minutes, they didn't fully commit to winning the game. Historically, you would like to see punch after punch, you would want to see bodies being thrown forward, but you might get caught on the counter attack and lose 2-1 that way.

"But that's not the way in which this Manchester United team play, and the heart wants them to go forward, commit players and be reckless in some ways.
"I do think they are quite close when I think about it with my head, but my heart thinks I'd like to see them die trying a little bit more and go for it.

Neville.

Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 12:17pm On Nov 29, 2015

If we had Valencia instead of Darmian we would have pressed better and won the game easily. The ability to burst forward is very important. You need to utilize the space in front of you before the opponent regroup.

If we get a player like Alaba or Alves to run the line, we will threaten far more.

I'll kick against getting Ronaldo at this point in time
I'd rather we collect bale or even isco

Ronaldo has only one way to go at this stage and that's down

He's now almost like a poacher

He's hardly spontaneous and it's only going to get worse
