[b] ****Unknown time**** Many people were gathered at the village square, they were all summoned by Ajadi, they had to honour his call even after they have all decided to stay away from him and his lover but there is no way they will write the history of the village without mentioning Ajadi's name. What he did for them in the war can never be overemphasised and that is why they are here to honour him, the whole council of elders were there, men, women and children were all there. Ajadi was loved by all untill the issues with Omolabake started. "As you all know, I am Ajadi omo Balogun" he started. "You all are aware of the sacrifices I have made for this village, you all know the outrageous things I have done just to keep this village safe. I have fought so many battles, I sustained many injuries to my flesh and many injuries to my heart. I have lost many of my friends, friends who I personally convinced to follow me to war. I did all these things because of my love for this village and my love for the generations yet unborn. Right now I have made a choice, a choice which most of you have rejected me for, I know not the reasons why you all reject me for my decision" he paused and walked closer to the audience. "When I made the decision to die at war for this village, nobody rejected me for it. When I went into reckless battles for this village, nobody rejected me for it but now that I have decided to marry the one my heart chose for me, you all rejected me. I am not here to sympathise for you people to accept me and my chosen bride but I am only here to beg you for one reason" he continued "On the next full moon I want to marry my chosen bride Omolabake right here at the market square and I want the blessing of the elders. As soon as we are done with the blessing, I will leave this village with my wife never to return again, can you do this for a soldier who would have laid down his life for all of you without a second thought" he asked Everybody kept mute, they were all ashamed of their actions, ashamed for abandoning one of their finest soldier. One of the elders stood up to speak after they have all deliberated for a while. "Ajadi igo we will stand by you on this, it's your decision to make and you have made it already. Even if you want to keep on living in the kingdom, it is alright by us" A man who appeared to be the head of the elder's coucil said. "Thank you very much elders, thank you very much everyone for sparing me your time and thank you for your cooperation. I will always remember all of you wherever my destiny takes me " Ajadi said and walked away. **Present day** "Why do you keep calling me Ajadi, my name is Isaac and your name is Ejiro" Isaac "How many times do you want me to tell you that your name is Ajadi and that I am Omolabake, try to remember my love, don't stop the memories from coming, let them come, I need you to remember everything, you have taken too much time, please remember Ajadi igo, Ajadi please remember, please remember. Ajadi! Ajadi!! Ajadi!!!" Which kain dream be this na, that's the third time am having this particular dream, what does it really mean. 'Isaac who just woke up from a dream said to himself. "Mumu I hope say you sabi the time sha, you dey talk about one stupid dream, no carry your stupid self enter bathroom make you prepare for lectures" said Ben. He was already dressed up for school and was about to exit the door when he heard Isaac's voice. "Wetin dey worry you na, no be 10am lectures we get and na just 8am wan go knack so" said Isaac after checking his phone to know the time. "Toor na u kan sabi that one oo, I wan go see Miss Anne before lecture start and I gats check my babe Ejiro for house first" Ben said and stepped out. Ben got to Ejiro's room, she was still sleeping when he got there, they just talked for a while and then he left after she insisted she wants to get some more sleep. He decided to go call Clarieta so they could tag along to go see Miss Anne for the meeting. He was about to knock at the door but he heard Clarieta's voice behind closed doors, she was certainly talking to someone. "It's a very hard decision for me to make and moreover I have not yet accomplished my mission with the chosen one, please give me more time, I beg you" those are the things Clarieta was saying inside. Ben concluded that Clarieta was cheating on his friend Isaac and that she has a mission to carry out, out of curiosity he opened the door slowly only to find Clarieta talking to the wall. She didn't notice his presence because she was so focused on the wall or so he thought, He got scared and closed the door silently, he decided to knock this time around. "Who is there" Clarieta shouted from inside after hearing the knock. "It's me Ben, are you ready "he asked. "Yeah give me a minute and I will be with you" She replied. After some minutes she came outside and they began walking down to school like they have always been doing ever since Miss Anne has been working directly with the four guys she appointed. The only difference was that Ben was awkwardly silent throughout their journey to school, unlike the previous days that they would have argued about a whole lot of things.. Ben tried to forget what he saw in the morning but it kept playing back in his head throughout the day, he hardly spoke to Isaac and Ejiro let alone Clarieta herself. He has been avoiding her since they got to school in the morning, he didn't even say a word throughout their group discussion with Miss Anne, whenever Miss Anne asked if he was alright, he just smiled and nodded his head. Another thing that kept him baffled is the hostility between Clarieta and Miss Anne. He has been observing them from the very first day in Miss Anne's office but he thought it was just their jealous instincts that was getting the best of them. Now school's over and the 4 of them (Ben, Isaac, Ejiro and Clarieta) were walking down to the girls' house. Isaac is bothered about his dream, Ben is bothered about what he saw this morning so the two guys were just unnecessarily silent, only God knows what's bothering Clarieta because she was silent too. Ejiro tried to cheer all of them up but she kept on reaching a dead end so she gave up and concluded it was just a boring day for all of them. When they got to their gate, the boys said their goodbyes, Clarieta called Ben back and whispered into his ear "I know you saw me this morning, let's both pretend like it never happened " she said and smiled ..... "You told me your mum is a yoruba woman, are you sure she didn't name you Ajadi or something" Ben. "Naah she didn't, my yoruba names are Olumide and Tobi but wait. Ajadi Ajadi, that's what my grandmother calls me anytime we visit her in Ogbomosho, she calls me Ajadi igo, but the dreams still has no connection to all of that" "You can't be so sure" Ben cuts in, "what if there is a link between all of these, we just have to connect the dots especially with what I told you about what I saw in Clarieta's room and what she whispered into my ears when we were about leaving their place" said Ben. "Guy I really think we should be careful around those girls, I have been worried ever since that day Ejiro fainted in class and woke up after a short period of time like nothing happened" Isaac "Isaac am telling you I was scared like hell because when I held her she was as cold as ice, I actually thought she was dead" Ben. "You thought she was dead or she was actually dead and just came back to life miraculously, did you see the look on Prof Edewor's face when he checked her pulse and moments later when she jerked back to life" Isaac. "Bro I just think we should be careful around those girls and we should start getting closer to God" Ben concluded and switched off the lights. It was already late into the night and they have morning lecture the next day. The two of them kept on thinking for a while until they slept off leaving the stereos playing Enya's music softly and barely audibly *music* Who can say where the road goes? Where the day flows? Only time *music*..... What a deep song, ONLY TIME...... ***(Ibadan, Oyo state)*** "My dear stand up" said a man who just woke up from a nightmare obviously while tapping the woman sleeping by his side.The woman reluctantly opened her eyes. The man looks like he will be in his late fifties while the woman should be in her early fifties. "I just had a bad dream about our son Isaac, I think he has gotten himself into something really dangerous" he said. "Jesus christ, what exactly did you see" the woman asked now sitting upright and listening attentively. Isaac was their only son and it took them lots of prayers and fasting before they could begot him, after giving birth to him through cesarean section, the doctor told them they could never bore a child again, that's the major reason they named him Isaac because their story was synonymous to that of Abraham and Sarah in the bible. "I saw Isaac stucked inbetween cob webs, a very strong one at that, he was losing all his strength and that was when I woke up" the man replied. They both knelt down and did a prayer who lasted for over an hour, after the prayer they concluded they will call him tomorrow morning so then they went back to sleep. ***(Gwagwalada Abuja)*** Isaac was walking down a street that looked so familiar to him, he could swear he had seen that path before, he kept walking and walking, he didn't know what was pushing him to keep walking but he was aware that there was a force pushing him. He is now approaching a very large river but still he didn't stop walking, he has now encroached into the river, he kept on going, his whole body has been immersed into the water, he was drowning but he couldn't do anything about it. He was about giving up when he started hearing the voice of his parents shouting his name, they kept on shouting until he snapped out of the spell holding him down, he floated out of the water and immediately he Woke up from the dream. "Ohh it's just a dream" he said to himself and went back to sleep. "Just a dream" if only he had drowned in that dream, if not for his parent's prayers that served as the voice that was calling him outside the river. That would have just been mission accomplished. **( Unknown time )** Many people from both Ikereku village and the neighbouring villages all came to witness the marriage rites of one of the greatest warrior and a spirit girl, some came to mock them, some came bearing gift, some came with great expectations and some came with good minds. Ajadi who was running around to make sure everything is a success suddenly remembers his conversation with Omolabake yesterday. ** flashback to yesterday ** "Omolabake what's the problem, aren't you supposed to be happy, many people are here just to celebrate with us but you have just been moody all day" Ajadi. "My mates are angry with me, they said I have broken the rule by falling in love with you, they have not even talked to me in a while and am scared about what they can do to us" Labake said. **flashback's over** He went back to whatever he was doing and assured himself that no evil will overcome them, there's no much time before the ceremony kick starts. Ajadi was really surprised at the cooperation and help he got from his friends especially Adisa. He was like a brother to him, he was even more active than Ajadi himself throughout out the preparations. Even the maidens who had stayed away from Omolabake all their lives are now by her side working day and night, they believed Ajadi the warrior deserves all those things and even more. Omolabake was the happiest among them all, she experienced love, care and hospitality from people who have rejected her, Ajadi is truly a blessing to her. In a blink of an eye, the ceremony had begun, the dancers had danced, wine had been served, the warriors performed their rites, it has indeed been very interesting. Now it's time for the elders to bless the union, Ajadi and Labake were summoned forward, they both knelt down to receive the blessing but suddenly there was darkness all over, the darkness was so thick no one could see anything, the audience there wanted to run but they could barely see each other not to talk of seeing what they were running into, what if they run straight into the danger, they were so helpless, everyone held onto each other like it was the end of days. So many thoughts going through their minds, some were regretting why they came, every one was trembling with fear except for Omolabake who is totally aware of what is happening and what's gonna happen. "They are here she shouted, are you people so shameless that you can't even show your faces, I thought you were never scared of humans, have you come to take me on a day like this, I curse the day I got together with you evil doers, you killed my mother and my siblings, as if that is not enough, you are here to take me now". "All those years that I was abandoned, you people didn't come for me, all those years that I had no hope of living, you people didn't come for me but now that have fallen in love, now that my people has accepted me as one of them, you people are here to take me". "Let's end this quickly" she said and her voice began to fade away. Ajadi I love you she said with a feint voice and then brightness came in gradually, within a minute the sun was shinning again. Ajadi was holding Labake in his arms, she was striving really hard to breath, Ajadi looked at her helplessly and couldn't help himself from crying. Out of the blues a strange figure was approaching, every one wanted to run away thinking it was some strange spirit but when they realised it was the chief priest, their minds were at ease, he walked down to where Ajadi was holding Labake. "You have tried Ajadi igo Omo Balogun, your love for the girl fought against the spiritual forces but unfortunately it didn't fight as brave as you would have fought them yourself, am sorry she is going to die" said the chief priest. "Chief priest help me please, she is carrying my child, she can't die, I will do anything that can be done" He pleaded. "Are you sure you can do anything" the chief priest asked. "Yes chief priest I will do anything whatsoever "He replied. "On this day it has been marked in the spiritual realm that she must die, there's no power that could stop a death from happening around her today. Someone has to sacrifice his or life for her but the question now is are you willing to die in her place "the chief priest asked. [/b] |

Donkross, u are telling ur story half-heartedly. Leaving unfinished ends. Is this story urs or u are telling it for a friend because u are hardly reaching its depths and I'm not exactly awed?. Okay what can I say now. 1) The story is totally mine body n soul  2) I am not a professional writer ma'am, I am just an ordinary literature section Bartender so I really don't know when am writing wholeheartedly or half-heartedly. 3) This is practically my second story, I abandoned the first one half way due to my laziness. What I mean to tell you is that I am a very lazy writer and that might be the reason why you are not feeling that x-factor you are looking for. 4) If frank 3:16 wants the story, he should come and collect it (na joke oo bros frank317) 5) Thanks for the advice, I will try and get better. [b] *** Present Day *** During one of Miss Anne's numerous group discussion, Ben is looking as unconcerned as he could be. He is seriously trying to keep away from Clarieta but the group thingny wouldn't allow him keep total distance, he tried to keep his distance from Miss Anne also because of what happened the other day in her office when they shook hands, even though in reality the handshake didn't last for more than 5 seconds but to him, it lasted for a long time, he saw flashes, more like visions. At first he thought it was one of his fantasies about Anne but this time, it was different. He really couldn't make sense out of all he was seeing because they were blurry, it has happened a couple of times after the first handshake, it happens anytime they shake hands. For this reason he has decided to pull out of the group but he hasn't find the courage to walk upto Miss Anne to inform her about his decision. As soon as they were done, the three other guys left while Ben stayed requesting to speak with Anne. "Please be brief, we have to be in class right this minute" Anne said trying to sound as formal as possible, her crush on Ben has kept on increasing day after day, if only Ben could see through her and see how she is melting right now just because she is alone with him. "I just wanted to tell you that I am pulling out of this group for personal reasons" He said with a straight face. "Okay can we talk about this after class" she asked. "Yeah it's okay then" he replied. They both walked side by side into the class, Ben Carried some of her textbooks for her, he dropped the textbooks on the front desk and walked to his seat. Ejiro was staring at both of them as they both walked in like married couples, there was jealousy written alll over her face, Ben noticed but he couldn't care less what she thinks. Ever since him and Isaac have been noticing some strange characters in the girls, the love they had for them has been gradually decreasing which really makes them wonder if they even ever loved them or what they felt were just pure infatuations. Ben and Isaac are now sitting together like they used to before the emergence of the girls into their lives while Ejiro and Clarieta were sitting right behind them, everything was just not going on well, even the aura in the class doesn't seem right. It's just like everyone in the class were in a bad mood, Miss Anne noticed this also so she made her lecture as brief as possible, she rounded up and left the class. "Guys we have to talk" Ejiro addressing the four of them, none of them replied instead Ben just stood up and left the class. He went straight into Miss Anne's office, he was prepared to stay adamant on his decision to quit the group thing only to get into the office to see Miss Anne crying. "Excuse me Miss, what's wrong, why are you crying" He asked . "I am fine, I am not crying "she replied trying to wipe her face and pose like nothing is wrong. 'No no you can't tell me that you are just crying for no reason, you can talk to me" he said and moved closer to her. "Ben my father is dying, the doctor said he has only few months to live" she bursted out loudly and was now crying uncontrollably. Ben didn't know what to do, he just held her in her arms like a crying baby. She buried her head in his arms and almost cried her eyes out. Ben did all his possible best to stop her from crying, he told her some encouraging words and they worked wonders, she laughed a little to some jokes Ben cracked, In a short while she started smiling. "Thank you very much Ben, you are really a good person. So why is it you wanted to pull out of the group, let's be brief because I have another class in an hour's time and I have to prepare" she said. "Oh that, never mind, we will talk about that some other time" He said and made for the door. As he was about to step out, she called him back. "Ben I really wish you don't pull out of the group" she said with the face of an innocent kid. He just smiled and closed the door behind. He embarked on the path that led to the class but was called by Isaac. He turned back and saw Isaac, Elo and Clarieta under a tree. He approached them and said hi, he was now smiling sheepishly, he doesn't even know why he is smiling , maybe because of the way he was able to help a depressed soul or the way he held Anne in his hands, it was just like he had pictured it in his fantasies, or maybe he is now in love with Anne. "We have decided to go and have a discussion at our house, we really need to know what's happening between us four, what do you say" said Ejiro. "It looks like you all have already decided so why should I be the odd one out, as long as you will cook that special type of noodles for me" he replied and pecked Ejiro on her cheek. She was surprised because he hadn't done that for days , if not weeks now but she didn't show her surprise. After eating the noodles together, Clarieta suggested that they should drink some alcohols, they kept on drinking until they were all tipsy and then Isaac suggested they play the spin the bottle game. "The rule is simple, who ever the bottle point in his or her direction will be asked a question by the person sitting next to him or her" Isaac explained. Immediately Ejiro brought the bottle of the drink they just had to the center, they were all sitting on the rug in a circular position. Ejiro spinned the bottle and it stopped pointing towards Ben, she was so happy because it was a golden opportunity for her. "Ben do you still love me" she asked. For a minutes Ben thought about telling her that he is not really sure about how he feels for her anymore but he looked into her eyes and realised he couldn't hurt her like that. "Definitely baby I still love you just like I have always loved you from the beginning" Ben replied. She jumped on him and kissed him. It was Isaac's turn to spin which he did, the bottle stopped pointing towards Clarieta and Ben's the one sitting next to her which means he is the one to ask her a question. "Clarieta who are you" Ben asked... [/b] |

[b]Everyone in the room was shocked at the question Ben just asked Clarieta, even Clarieta herself didn't see the question coming hence didn't do well in hiding her shock also. "I am Clarieta Ozabereme from Edo state, I am the first child of 3 kids, I am just a girl who is supernaturally awesome and kinda weird. I do many weird things that some people will tag as unsual, some people believe there is more to me than meet the eyes but overall I am fun to be with because am a talkative, have I answered your question" she said. Ben who was able to read between the lines of what she said just faked a smile and nodded in confirmation, he was able to note the terms she used about being supernatural and that there is more to her than meet the eyes. The game continued, on and on but it wasn't as interesting as it was when it started, Ben and Isaac kept looking at each other at interval, seems Isaac is also aware of what just transpired between Ben and Clarieta. He must have heard the 'there's more to me than meet the eyes' part quite loudly too. Ejiro was the only one who read no special meaning to what just happened or maybe she was just acting like she didn't.. they played the game for a while until the boys decided to leave for their house. Due to their drunkenness, they decided to walk home just to be able to clear their eyes a little. "Isaac what do you think about Clarieta's answer to the question I asked her". "It was so vague yet so clear, that girl is really very smart, I think it's high time I ended the relationship between us, my parents called me earlier today and warned me about knowing the people I mingle with" Isaac replied. Ben was about to reply him when a car just parked by their side. They waited for the person in the car to roll down, and then they heard that tiny angelic voice. "Where are you guys off to" Anne. 'Oh we we are going home' Ben replied stammering. 'You mind if I drop you guys' she asked smiling. 'No problem 'they chorused. They rode silently and they only spoke whenever they wanted to inform her of when and where to turn, as soon as they got to their gate, Isaac alighted and thanked her for the ride. 'Thanks for the ride, we really appreciate 'Ben. "Ohh come of it, I should be the one thanking you for the words of encouragement you said to me earlier today, it really was really helpful" said Anne. Ben just smiled and held her hands like they were some really close friends. 'You mind if I get your number so we could chat and call you to know when you get home' he asked. 'Ohh it's no problem' she replied, they exchanged contacts and then he dropped from the car, he waited for her to drive out of sight before walking inside. **Unknown time** "It's a sacrifice of life and only a life could be sacrificed for a life, so are you willing to sacrifice yours for hers" said the chief priest. Everybody was keen to know what Ajadi's decision will be, they were anticipating his reply but instead he stood up and moved closely to the chief priest. 'How much time do we have left' he asked almost whispering. 'She is dying already, there's no time at all, you must reach a decision right now' chief priest He walked away from the chief priest to where Adisa was. "Adisa my friend, you are more than a friend to me, you are my brother and now as a brother I ask you to take care of my wife and kid as if they are yours, take care of them just as I would have cared for them my brother, please can you do that for me" He asked while kneeling on one knee in front of Adisa. Adisa knelt down on one knee too and they shook hands in the warriors way. "Ajadi igo Omo Balogun, I vow on my life that I will protect and take care of them more than you would have done" he replied and drew him up, they hugged for what seemed like a very long period of time and then untangled. "Ajadi walked back to the priest, you may proceed" he said and knelt down infront of him. The chief priest started reciting some incantations and then brought his staff to Ajadi's head, he continued with his incantations slowly and steadily. The chief priest is really a man of age, he had grey hair all over his head and beards, he obviously can't walk again without the aid of his staff. While all these was happening, someone had already went ahead to inform Ajadi's family who were absent from his marriage rites about what was happening at the village square. Ajadi's father had ordered all of his family not to step foot in his marriage, but when they heard about what he was about to do, his mother and sister defiled the order and ran as fast as their legs could take them, his father also reluctantly followed them even though it wasn't a thing of pride to go against his own order but he had to do it for his only son, his pride and joy.
