Believe me, u aren't bugging ppl with ur musings..many folks would like to know the answers to those questions. The way I see it is simple though. Do the stats really matter? If u got into NLNG tomorrow, would u be as keen to knw how the stats were juggled? Same applies if u don't get in (u can say the customary "God forbid" here.) The probable reason u crave those clarifications right now is to aid u gauge how optimistic u should be....which in my opinion does more harm than good cos that mail was as bland as it gets. The pseudo-importance of the mail had nothing to do with the mail itself but was due to the regret mails that were sent. So pls relax...try to put it outta ur mind and move on... while u still believe in your Jah's undeserved kindness.

Assuming a wild estimate of NGN15m p.a for each GT, 120 GTs will cost NGN1.8bn per year.

Assuming all GTs work for 35 years which is not likely, the payroll cost for 120 GTs (assuming no hike in pay) is NGN63bn.

This is about NGN720bn at the current CBN rate of about NGN200. Smart accountants can easily extrapolate the profits of the company which I believe is in Tr.....

Given that oil price has dropped by about 80%. Even at 80% drop in profits, the NGN1.8bn per year is still immaterial to NLNG.

Moreover, not all GTs need specialized training. For Accountants, IFRS and other relevant accounting standards are the same everywhere even in NLNG.
For the continuity of the company, people who do not need specialized training can resume in phases based on need of user departments while Engineers can be grouped to resume together to minimize training costs.

Something however tells me even if 120 GTs resume this February, it is just but the weight of an ant on the great elephant NLNG.

Probably right, my estimates were as at 2012 when I had Chevron interview. Always thought NLNG was highest paying grad job in naija.

There are different interpretation depending on if you are an optimist or a pessimist. The optimist will think " A call to prayer and the second coming of Jesus should bring joy and as such NLNG call is near". To the pessimist a call to prayer should be a time to pray against a terrible situation and the Christ coming soon is to end the world as we know it and as such maybe the exercise has been cancelled. In the end I am still yours truly Mr Optimist.
