Nobody talks about Honda Tie Rod, but the Ball Joint. Let's be honest, it peculiar to Honda products, though I feel they're correcting that disaster in these newer models.

I deal on Honda parts, but don't compare Honda with Toyota. They're no match, Toyota is far ahead.

It is not that Toyota is far ahead but rather than each brand trying to be unique. Do you know why the joints pull. Honda's lower arm ball joint has its nuts unde wh Toyota has its up. Honda pulls more frequently because the there s pressure on the ball joint than that of Toyota

i like honda, but mine was too expensive to maintain and had a shitty engine

Honda accord also makes crappiest gear box...even if u buy manual, its worse than auto...changing master clutch every 6-6 months, God help u if u r in an un-holy place/ hour, when that clutch fails

This is one of the reasons that insurance companies do not fix most front wheel drives that get involved in front end collisions--too much liabilities. They sell them off to auction houses. Nigerians buy them, straighten the chassis, put new bumpers, paint and sell to unsuspecting end-users who are looking for cheap cars.
When accidents like this happen, they start blaming their uncles in the village. Granted that Nigeria roads are best described as off-road tracks, It is foolhardy to take a knife to a gun fight.

I know some persons who well maintained their Honda and never experienced such.

Most cars we drive here as direct belgium are refurbish & not accident free only the original buyer can tell you were it has fault before he sale it.most of them has serious crash infact if you see the situation of cars most importers repair &paint then bring down here(africa)as london use you save moni for new one.though new cars re costly but reliable wit guarantee.am afraid of that london use.

you are wrong on that car it looks like poor maintenance or mistake by the mechanic

those are either a ball joint or trackrod coming out

and those things are not hidden to do your own inspection

Sorry to burst your bubble. I have seen a Honda pilot, yes an SUV threw the left wheel out like a cripple before. That day that I knew it was not limited to only Honda saloons was the day I gave up on having any Honda vehicle in my fleet. Even I wouldn't do Acura for a million dollars.

I had seen it happened to mercedes Benz two times. But it is more frequent with Honda. mind you I drive a Honda car and am always afraid of my ball joint whenever I travel.

I was thinking this was caused by Shaft problem.

Which ever; all cars gives the driver signs before finally 'packing up', pay attention to your vehicle and do necessary repair/replacement - is the best.

point of correction, dis isn't a tie rod issue...tie rod only affects d steering.but this is more frequent in honda products

When shafts pull, the tire stops to rotate & the car remains stationary, when ball joints pull, the tire detaches from the suspensions.

Not all Hondas even, it's affected 2003 to 2007 only.

It usually gives a sign in form of a sound long before it eventually happens. My mech told me and I've religiously kept to that advice and I must say, it's been a saving grace.

I cannot describe the sound but you'll hear it when turning the wheels, you can't miss it.

I keep seeing Toyota 4runners with their wheels broken too.

So toyota doesn't have a dedicated market as well? Bro your reasons doesn't hold water, as popular as toyota tiny light is, am yet to see such happen to it, no doubt Honda is prettier than toyota BUT, this tie rod or whatever it is called is a deal breaker, let's not forget Honda's transmission failure, toyota is number one in the world for a reason...
