I saw the situation too. I trekked as well but it wasn't from iyana school as someone implied. It was just b4 getting to the school gate. commercial buses were not allowed to go further from a certain point. All passengers were to alight from the bus and trek.
I was carrying my 4 month old son and it wasn't easy trekking all that distance. He was so not enjoying it at all coupled with d heat.

If this riot was for the external student that finised and yet to see their result let alone their certificate , i would appreciate that. They are only fighting for their pocket the SUG in quote, those bus driver pay them royal daily and they also complain that Agberos also disturb them. That is the cause of the riot.

Protesting against the Agberos/area boys is like protesting against the italian mafia. They both

have the same modus operandi e.g The mafia asks you to pay for protection or dues and you

refuse, they burn or destroy your property even kill at times. The area boys tell the bus drivers or

market women or customers even 'owoda' and they refuse,he removes either wiper or bus seats

or seizes the goods of the maket women or traders.only full military force can get them off the

streets cause they are more organized than you think.

I said it long ago,a time and a season shall come when the monster of 'street boys culture' in Lagos would become a national security crisis, just the way Almajiris in the North is now a source of man power to boko haram.
Is so painful that able bodied young men wld stand in the street, extorting other hard working and vibrant Nigerians, directly or indirectly with the tacit support of their ruling class, who believes that some how, these boys who are occassionally used as political touts, deserves some freedom to feed from other peoples sweat.Thereby creating a big national crisis, these boys should be rounded up and be treated like the criminals that they are,all the Alayes,Area boys,Omoniles and the numerous jobless wanderers in Lagos, who often moves around the various markets to tell traders that 'eye wey see go chop',believing its their right.
They shld all be deported to their states......learnt most of them are either from Osun,Ondo,Ogun or Ibadan.

It is a pity that young students are the ones speaking out.Where are the Elders of Lagos?Where are the Traditional Title holders?Where are the political elite?
U will never see or hear from them because they are the masters and patrons of this agberos. The worst part is that the money realised from rip off are never spent well. The ones remitted to govt is embezzled and the share of the agberos are spent on kaeyin-kaeyin which later prompts serious street fights as they have lost their senses

U have got it wrong bro, military force will no stop anything. They will only hybernate for a while to allow things to cool down and then return in full force. The only way to stop their affront on the masses is to act like the Students.Refuse, reject and confront them as an indivisible unit. There is also need to institute legal proceedings against the State govt for promoting this kind of practice.

I will advise the Students concerned to approach the Lagos House of Assembly and also seek Legal redress.Rioting will not solve that problem, but seeking the empathy of a higher authority will.U guys should write the Govt and try to see Ambode. The fact is Shout for as long,as loud and as far as u can until they listen to you.It is shere wickedness for the school to refuse to give u your result.

That is APCshit modus operandi- don't provide education for all our children, just promise to dash them small CHANGE from what you steal from them- and you are good to go.
Can you imagine Fashola as governor of eight years boasting of 2,000 government schools out of 14,000 total? shocked
No wonder their party leader is the Asiwaju Asiwere of thugs, touts and area boys.

Some days ago, I was at a secondary school in Surulere (across the bridge from the Island) in Lagos for a friend's event where he is educating secondary students about the perils of peer pressure. I honestly wasn't expecting what I saw as the state of this secondary school.
It left me wondering if this was a school or a dump yard. Why in heaven's name are Nigerian leaders looking the other way while the young ones study in this sorry environment?

The attached pictures are what I saw. This is no secondary school. It's a hopeless shanty. I hope this gets to front page and attracts the necessary attention.

Thanks for that, the problem extetnal students face is that we don't have union and once you are through with your program every body scatter,, to gather again becomes impossible .

Then i guess it will be best if its a combined strategy cause trust me,this guys have weapons the masses dont even posses and threatening their illegal source of livelyhood will definitely make them react negatively. The legal proceedings is strictly against Tinubu, everyone knows he championed the cause.

Buratai should have sent his boys to shoot and kill those students for disturbing the public peace.
Same thing happened in kaduna and they were all over the place praising the soldiers for such dastardly act.
Same thing happened in Onitsha and other parts of the SE.
In fact hence forth, anyone or group of persons disturbing the public peace in the name of any form of protest must be killed and the case closed.

Nonsense.
Owo enu e ... Kill students? So you compare students to IPOB miscreants or Shiite militias?

Lagos agbero = Tinubu
Tinubu > Ambode
Therefore: Ambode < Agberos

Answer: Don't expect a solution

You just made me fall off my bed laughing with both your handing and your equation. I'll check for any broken bones when I'm done laughing. For now grin grin grin grin grin grin continues

I don't know why I have not seen this news on nairaland today ...

There was a serious fight/riot at Lasu -Isheri express road today, student union Govt blocked the road at Lasu Gate because Agbero boys (owo da) are extorting money from S.U.G shuttle bus drivers.. So they (SUG LASUSU)have decided that enough is enough .

No vehicular movement from inyana school to inyana-oba most people trekked from inyana-school to inyana-Oba ... While some from first-gate ...
Soldiers are around to calm the situation..

Anyone around that area can confirm

I like this no sleeping on top bicycle. This hoodlums won't go and fix themselves up only come out to extort from motorists.
Go ahead and send them all out from near your premises.
