ViceAdmiral:
SADC governments should consider using the same type of navy vessels in future to maintain security.

This will allow them to use a common platform for the servicing and repair of their vessels.

This was said by Christopher Moshoeshe, the captain of the Namibian Navy at Swakopmund on the sidelines of the 22nd annual meeting of the Standing Maritime Committee, SMC

But will the politicians listen

Budgetary issue and strategic issue.

It would bar us from things like the valour class and it would force navies to buy things they cannot afford or cant operate - for example, Mozambique new IPV's and our planned IPV's under Proj Biro would clash thus we would both end up with something that suits neither of our needs.

We have the largest shipyard in Africa, with the capacity to build ships that are over 120 meters in length. There are also literally 10s of vessel manufacturers in Nigeria.

An 8.5 meters boat is nothing, the most important bit is, we are looking in-wards to address our military requirements. Yes, it's an original design.

SOUTH AFRICA’s Paramount Group are upgrading them by installing the FLASH system, “an advanced development on the SAWS system that they did for Iraq’s Eurocopter helicopters” Herewith, all the relevant details of the FLASH

"Buratai stated this in Maiduguri wednesday after
inaugurating the newly-acquired Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
(UAV) and inspecting other military hardware including
transport vehicles, mine sweepers and 3,000-rounds-per-
minute revolver machine guns for onward deployment in

Sad news for Africa...

Yesterday, South African President Jacob Zuma made a surprise announcement that he had decided to withdraw the 800-odd South African National Defence Force (SANDF) troops who have been participating in UNAMID – the hybrid United Nations-African Union peacekeeping mission in Darfur, Sudan – the announcement would surely have been welcomed most enthusiastically by Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir. One could say Zuma thus did him, wittingly or unwittingly, another big favour – following on the refusal of the South African government to arrest al-Bashir on International Criminal Court charges last June when he participated in the African Union summit in Johannesburg.

the mission was a failure ,the supporter of APC are still committing atrocities to this day
Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by agaugust: 7:28am On Feb 26, 2016
UNAMID's predecessor stopped the organized/systematic random rāpe of tens of tbousands of Dafur women and genocidal scale of murder of thousands of Dafur men by Sudan backed evil supporter of APC militia who almost turned Dafur into a Rwanda type genocide. Atrocities still happen in Congo with and C.A.R with UN troops still present there. Sudan's Bashir government frustrated UNAMID, and UN deployed only limited resources with 15,000 troops on a land mass almost as big as France. This is why I said AU must end Somalia crisis in good time before frustration of a long war kills AMISOM's spirit. A total UN pull out of Dafur can lead to a return of Sudan backed supporter of APC militia, and atrocities will multiply 100 times. The UNAMID countries who want to stay can stay, failed mission? No, frustrated mission? Yes.

Pic....Rwandan army heading to Dafur
