I'm surprised with the comments I'm seeing here. I want a phone that will be able to run large high definition games with little or no lags and a long lasting battery because I'm a serious gamer. I good camera because I'm hyper-photogenic. I have read all your comments and all you talk about is chipset and you say the camon c8 chipset is newer. please I want to ask, what does chipset do to a device? does a 1gb ram plus new chisep make the camon c8 run faster than the mini M5 with a 2gb ram plus old chipset? and please does a beautiful UI(user interface) make it also run faster and smoother and maximizes battery power? please educate me because I do not understand these things. the mini m5 has a camera everyone will love but the camon c8's camera is super. the mini m5 has a far better battery we all know that already.

I've had a Hands-on experience with it and its a beauty bro... The only thing that Camon C8 has is the Camera quality which is slightly better than Gionee M5 Mini....

Gionee M5 Mini is way too sleek and powerful... For a Gamer and High end usage - Gionee is a Beast....

I can gladly tell you to go for gionee.. The phone hardly lags

Ui has nothing to do with battery maximisation bro... it only makes app switching seem less stressful ..
Battery maximisation is in the solemn hands of the 2 guys called GPU and processor... In one of these 2 guys dnt seem to work hand to hand , or one is not evenly matched, then you see like a 6000 mAh battery not spending up to 15 hrs(talk time), ...a very good example is the iPhone 6s- 1700 or so man and its talk time is over 14-15 hrs, unlike some tecno crap here.
now over to chipsets, every smartphone has its chipsets it uses. Chinese phones like innjoo, Tecno, Gionee make use of "Mediatek" - Mali ( The only strong competitor in terms of chipset against Qualcomm's Snapdragon. Snapdragon is a beast in terms of running High end games flawlessly .. Mediatek is also trying to push in theirs by introducing their own 64-bit chipset (6752). Chipset plays a very strong in running Heavy apps (just like what a graphic card does on your PC). Canon c8 and gionee m5 mini will run games like GodFire, Darkness reborn without problems (I mean almost unnoticeable lags and drops). Thats is why it is hard to choose which is better between the two for playing HD games because they both use the same chipset from the same company (only diff. is in their bits).
.Camera wise, Canon c8 beats gionee slightly, but that has nothing to do with me cause ama game FREAK!!.

On a serious note however. Op I'll advice you go for camon c8. Gionee lied to all of us. We were promised a 64bit 1.3ghz quadcore chipset, which supports 4g and sports the malit720 gpu. What we got after months of waiting was none other than that crappy low end chipset. The camon c8 is 64bit, supports 4g(if it works, it's on an 'as is' basis), new opengl3.1 compliant gpu (malit720) but the battery sucks and it lacks international recognition. The camon c8 also comes with 1gb ram, m5mini however is 2gb ram. So Op chose wisely.
