Please my GPS keeps turning on automatically after turning it off. Have looked for app responsible but no success. Am using Gionee Elife E3 with Android version 4.2.1. Am also rooted.

If you bought it used it's likely the previous owner has activated an anti-theft feature on it that forcefully switches on GPS to detect the user's location in case the phone is stolen.

Lol. Im experiencing the same on my Tablet. Rooted, using Glo.

Am using Glo for data connection. Bought the phone newly, have used it for almost two years now.

its likely this happens whenever u visit a site, some site triggers the gps to on/off

It happens, shockingly, when you insert/are using a glo sim in your phone. It happened to me also when I put in my glo sim in my old phone which is running on jellybean OS. Wonder what the heck that is

Do u have any antivirus or security feature installed? For example on my phone ibhave lookout installed out of the box. Whenever my battery gets to 5%, my GPS turns on automatically so it can register its location on case the phone dies, u know where to find it. I hate this feature though. Check it antivirus or any security features of ur phone.

Any solution to this yet? My fone is rooted and I'm using glo too. My GPS gets turned on whenever I turn on my data. It doesn't get turned on when I use mtn..

If you are using battery doctor or Du battery ...check your profile and turn off GPS.


Or go to SETTINGS... LOCATION... Turn it off/Deactivate.

Look at your app menu you will see an app called Google settings just open it then you will see location menu just turn it off.

If you are rooted you can completely disable location and GPS using titanium backup app to freeze geolocation. Apk

As far as you're using Glo to browse, there is nothing u can do about it... Have flash a new stock rom cos of that issue yet still same..



If you use other network, nothing like that will happen..

When in 2g,nothing like that will happen except on 3g... It's Glo bis Bro, remove that Glo sim and try any other network, u will see that ur GPS won't on...


Beause of this issue I flash my stock rom twice....... I know what I'm talking about, even my friends using Glo bis are also experiencing same thing..

It's not about Glo Bis but Glo Data services. Ain't using Bis, but normal sub, once on 3g, and connected, it will activate gps.

Whether you're on glo bis or not. Once your network is in 3G, the gps will turn on. Even if you're on edge, try make calls, and watch your gps turn on.
The problem is from glo.

mine stopped since I moved to lollipop version on my infinix hot note pro

Found a temporary solution to this... If u ve mtk engineering, click on MTK settings, swipe to others, click on Swla. Click on assert modem.. It will say assert modem successful or so. Ur network will go off and on by itself, that's all. turn off ur location if its on, it will remain off.
This is just temporary, u will ve to repeat dsame thing if u switch off/on ur fone.
