You deliberately spelt Muhammed in a derogatory way and yet you say you don't have any issue against Islam. Is that how you're taught?

The problem is, you guys provoke and begin to play victim when one Muslim gives back.

Fine. I can easily relate with your lines. I am also a convert from CHRISTIANITY to ISLAM. and to God's glory my family members became a convert through me, and ever since then we can only count our blessings.

Muslims in the north are being aggressive due to several reasons beyond but mainly because of illiteracy. Mind you, it's not all muslims in the north that are religiously aggressive. Even if the larger percentage are, it will be wrong to classify them all as being religious extremist.

Meanwhile your description of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) isn't needed. You have found what suits you, enjoy your new faith and not cast stones on others. Judgement day would tell those that have been right in religion selection. PEACE.

Note that the sylabus says separate classes for CRS and IS themes...which means probably that Christians would be taught CRS as part of the Religion and National Values curriculum and IS would e taught to Muslim students.

Note that this new curriculum has been around since 2014...when Wike was Minister of Education.

I doubt that anyone would be teaching strange religions to any student.
That it has been around when Wike was Minister does not make right.
We should base our judgement on what we feel.
This government has presently failed. To prevent us from talking about their failures, they are throwing bones to us to distract us.
This curriculum is an Islamisation agenda. Islam was founded to blaspheme and lie against Christianity. So,my children should be exposed to this before they gain mental independence? This is evil. These be better introduced to Tertiary education students, and not Primary or Secondary school students.

As several have said elsewhere....no Christian has been taught IS and no Muslim CRS.

And the syllabus says....separate classes...meaning that the students would be taught the same thing under the RNV curriculum UNTIL it is time for the religion component....then Muslims go for IRS, and Christians CRS.

And the syllabus has been there since 2014....so unless you want to accuse GEJ and Wike of planning to Islamise Nigeria.....

Islam's prophet encouraged and practiced violence. So, I am not surprised if any Muslim is aggressive.
The problem with Christians is that we are not as good as Jesus, but many Muslims are better than Mohammed.

You know nothing about the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). His teachings or way of life. I know you have chosen to pick from the stories you hear and the ones you feel suits your reason for being a Christian.
your views about the Prophet (SAW) or islam won't change anything. It won't bring any harm to Islam, but you can only harm yourself.

Religion has done more harm than good to Africa. In present day NIgeria, once the word 'religion' is mentioned, it strikes a paranoid chord in the minds of people. The news making the round recently was that IRS and CRS have been merged, as soon as this story filtered into the air, a lot of people went paranoid with the usual reaction of "Buhari is islamizing Nigeria." As usual, once politicians hear stories like this, they quickly capitalise on the religious paranoia of people by twisting the story to suit their political narrative. Just yesterday on facebook, I saw a news report posted on the Ohaneze Ndigbo group and it was sensationally titled, "CRS Removed from School Curriculum." The composers of these divisive articles know how lazy Nigerians are by reading ONLY titles before forming an opinion. At the end of the day, Religious studies should just be completely removed from our curriculum for the sake of peace and sanity.

Where are the separate classrooms for the separate classes?
Where?
It is pure deception.
Religion should not be a compulsory subject. Are you saying that there are only Christians and Muslims in Nigeria?
When we are done decieving one another,we will SURELY reap the consequences.

We have so many devilish sects at present claiming to be fighting in the course of Allah while doing what Allah forbids. Definitely Allah knows their plan and will definitely make them taste hell. Allah is the all knowing. May Allah forgive me if have said anything anything wrong or misquoted.

Why are you wasting time with this ignoramus? He's obviously a low I.Q guy feeding off of stories on the internet and not capable of doing his own research. He wants to take the angle of violence to demonize Islam not knowing that Christianity's history was far more violent. Just let him keep barking, he's entertaining us!

No one should /can force you to be a Muslim. It's a free world. But you can start by changing your name from Ridwan to Paul.

What has changing his name got to do with his belief. the truth is that no amount of subtility of islam will ever make them cage Nigeria. I know u guys of social media r part of d islamization game but our search light are too bright. if u like, be paid to paint black to white & cover d truth, every body knows the secret aim of RVN. and except God will sell His people to satan +(which He will not do Isaiah 50:1) that's when RVN & grazing bill will succeed but if not, those secret plans to extinct Christianity, the sponsors, initiators & supporters of d plan must surely be greeted by d heavy & destructive wrath of God at d end.

From your statements I know everything I need to know! For every violent reference in the Quran, I can come up with an equally violent reference in the Bible, yet I don't go around claiming both books are violent or that the prophets are evil! I've studied both books and actually taught classes on theology for a few years, so you're barking up the wrong tree buddy!

why put both together before. What was wrong with CRK as a subject and IRK as a different subject too. But merging them together and asking them to be done in separate classes doesn't make sense. Why merge CRK, IRK, Civics and Security studies (or whatever) together? It makes no sense. The contents of these subjects are immiscible. Why not just separate them and make everyone happy. Religion is not the problem. The problem lies in the fact that some greedy and power drunk fellows want to hide under that so as to continue in their corrupt ways

The above is a response to this thread:

Christian And Islamic Studies Merged By Ministry Of Education, Nigerians React

Nigeria for some time now has had a 'religion problem''. A clash of two differing worldviews. Since independence , and even before, there have been issues between Christians and Muslims, with periodic bursts of violence.I myself, having lived in the North for some time, have been witness to such clashes.

But the violence is not the only expression of such clashes. One clash has been in the area of religious education. For decades there have been complaints by one of the religions or the other about discrimination in the area of teaching CRS. As a Chrsitian, one of the many complaints CAN in the North in particular has had has been of Christian students being forced to learn IRS back in the 1970's....due to ''scarcity of Christian RS teachers.

That is why the issue in the above thread attracted my attention. I first thought that the Education Ministry had made a mistake, and my consprational part of my mind was worried by the fact that the Minsiter is a Muslim . But...when I examined the curriculum....this is what I found about the new Religious and National Values curriculum.

For students in Primary 1-6 and JS 1-3...this is how the Religious and NATIONAL values curriculum looks like...(under Explanatory Notes).

Listed components will serve as themes in the Religion and National Values Curriculum
Contents are planned for all children to take Social Studies, Civic Education and Security Education themes
Separate classes should be run for CRS theme and IS theme
Consumer Education, Disaster Risk Reduction Education and Peace and Conflict Resolution curricula are infused into the Civic Education, Social Studies and Security Education Themes.
Create enabling environment for the subject in all schools

And under the SS1-3....CRS and IRS would be taught separately as before.

In other words.....NO CAUSE FOR CONCERN.

In conclusion....I would like to say that I am deeply dissapointed with those who spread the rumor. If they had taken time to read the explanatory notes under the e-curriculum, they would have seen the full picture.

Let us not spread false rumors. For the sake of our Nigeria.
