The Chief Executive of the body, Babatunde Fowler said there is every need to increase the staff of the FIRS to ensure good results and delivery for the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The FIRS Recruitment 2016 will be able to provide jobs for about 1200 jobless Nigerians across the globe. According to the Chairman of the FIRS, The FIRS Recruitment 2016 will begin once the budget has been signed by the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In Babatunde Fowler words, “Basically we are discussing the 2016 budget. And within the budget, we have made a provision for recruitment of staff in terms of staff expansion; and in total we are expected to recruit about 1,250 job seekers for the FIRS Recruitment 2016 and the process will start once the budget has been duly signed and approved…”

He stressed the fact that less than ten percent (10%) of Nigerians are remitting when it comes to Value Added Tax (VAT), and that with the support of the Senate and the signing of the 2016 Budget, the target would be met, so to see the strength of the FIRS Recruitment 2016 and collect taxes as appropriate.
