Before closing the Azikwe International airport, the FG should first close the Muritala Mohammed International airport. There are too many touts hanging around the MMIA.

Wow u are so correct. Park your car they will come and toll ur car away for N5,500 fees that needs to be paid before it can be released. There car park is zero too. Touts everywhere in MMIA Lagos.

This is why I hate some people on this Nairaland. They forget their education and faith and begin to see everything from the prism of tribalism!

Is this not the same airport renovated by Stella oduah?

Tribalism really blocked the senses and brain of my kinsmen not to know this woman was a fraud.

If only Richard Bradson was allowed to work his magic on our airport then,Stories would have changed now but corruption won't just allow.

Richard Bradson did not come to operate our airports. He came to run an airline - Virgin Nigeria.

Apc told us that increment in electricity bill will provide constant electricity. They have increased the bill since February and we have not seen electricity.

Anyway, if they want to sell the airport, let them sell it to Jimoh Ibrahim. He knows how to manage such thing for government

Nigerian (Nairaland ) youths are dullards. No wonder they are looking forward to selling for their useless brains for N5000 monthly. People who never entered aeroplane are arguing against shutdown of faulty dilapidated runway.

Potholes and bad roads are part damages in the airport design which can warrant closing the airport.

Touts are just mobile "weeds" that can be chased at will without closing the airport.

Tribalism and Hate?
The poster possibly thinks Nnamdi Azikwe airport is in the South East, from the name.

This Bubu dem ehn! They can never agree that there's money o! They rather let infrastructure go to waste so they can justify phantom sums they've been throwing around as stolen. Meanwhile there's always money for Buhari, his children and entourage to travel at a moment's notice in the richest of comfort even if it's to go n collect insult and cone back.

Meanwhile let me not hear anyone criticize Stella Oduah cos she's done and gone. Una tribalism and beef say she try upgrade Enugu Airport no let una rest so she didn't finish the good work she started.

If in these harsh times when there's need to cut down frivolous expenditure they still allocated billions for yearly renovation of Aso Villa, Vp's residence, library and so on, then I don't see why they shouldn't allocate funds for yearly upgrade n maintenance of airports which are in use by millions of people on any given day.

Obasanjo privatised cement and hospitality sectors, GEJ sold our power sector, APC/PMB are about to privatise the aviation and education sectors. My question is, what is the next regime going to hold on to? What will they campaign with and about?

They are talking of runway & infrastructural deficiency that affects safety of travellers, you are spewing trash about touts. Pathetic!! .... Air travel is not a luxury, you should visit the airport one of these days to brush up your knowledge.

I was at this particular airport yesterday, didn't notice that. It's just that this govt is pathetic and so many flights were either cancelled or rescheduled due to aviation fuel shortage.

Why na? Crude oyel money no dey again? Abuja is a fantastically artificial mega city with cost of landed property artificially driven to very high level; in a city that has no single industry of repute. any time oyel money dries up, how can Abuja survive?
