Law Faculty of the University of Abuja is one o the best law faculties in the country. The facts speak for themselves

So, even if the rest of the faculties are bad, that faculty is not. So bros, I no go bad school. The best place to study law is right in the seat of power where you get easy access to movers and shakers of the legal world in Nigeria.

Our facilities are currently going through a total upgrade, our VC has ensured the school doesn't go through another strike action for at least the new four years. Give it another three years and you won't have a bad word to say about University of Abuja unlike old glory schools

Yes, those schools outside top 1000 in US are also glorified secondary schools, do you assume every school in the West is world class?

You can tell yourself whatever you want sha, whatever makes you feel better, the world still won't rate you smiley
Is Rick Ross sitting on your brain ni? Only two universities in Africa crack the top 1000. Does this also mean all African universites except those two are glorified secondary schools?
Re: POST-UTME Screening Exercise: The University Of Abuja Model by Howmon: 9:04pm On Jun 07, 2016
I hope the counsel to the university will be willing to explain why a CGPA of 2.4 out of 5.0 in the first year qualifies a student for expulsion. This model can only work if you don't know ur rights .

saintdennis:

Your lawyer will inform you that you signed their entry form by yourself.

I'm sure it's contained in their prospectus, ANYTHING in the prospectus is binding on students.

ALSO it's in uniben prospectus that u must attain a certain gpa to move to the next level.

uniben also conducts a sort of result screening (o'level, jamb, post-ume). As well as admission list check(of the admitted set against class list). In 300level(or penultimate year)! Then paste the result in 400lvl (or the depts final year)

Uniben will wait to inform studens that THEY ARE NOT STUDENTS in the year they're supposed to graduate! After spending on skul fees, skul books, accommodation n feeding + flexing for 3 n half years they are told they were given:
*fake admission *their o'level isn't suitable 4 d course they are in *ONE/TWO grades are different etc.

Yet they can't complain cos it's ALL IN THE PROSPECTUS.

If 4.49 can't give a student first class then sorry bro 2.4 isn't same as 2.5. Rules is rules.

U gotta differentiate moral n legal. There are many schools in naija, if u uniabuja rules don't suit a student he can try other schools with easier entry modes.

if u accept the terms and conditions then you're bound to the rules.

you tend to miss my point and allow me say that 2.5 is not a reasonable threshold and if the student has 2.4 a lawsuit can be initiated and He'll win the suit. My argument is this, there is the probability of a 2.4 CGPA student in 100 level finishing with a 2-1 that logic flaws the fake prospectus document the institution may be holding on to.

If what one want to use the admission letter to apply for scholarship in 100 level?
Re: POST-UTME Screening Exercise: The University Of Abuja Model by Howmon: 9:37pm On Jun 07, 2016
The institution crossed the legal line when they absorbed the students into 100 level. 2.4/5.0 in year 1 out of 4 or 5yrs course should never guaranty a student expulsion.

i think its effective enough, dis ll kip the students on der toes right from d strt. . . .
. Yea, but i prefer proper screening from onset. I pity those that will not make it at the end. If there will be 2nd chance by shifting those with lesser GP to a less populated dept. That will be a fine option.

And those that couldn't meet up with the required GP, will the school management refund every dime those individuals paid during their 100 level probation system?

they admit the allowed capacity.

This year, they didn't admit students in Law and Accounting, what that meant was anyone who wasn't aware of that and applied those courses were sent to other depaetments like Pol Science, Bus. Ad and Sociology.

They tell you what you're getting into from the beginning, you're well aware that you have to reach 2.5 to go through.

91 students were admitted into medicine last session, by the end of the session only 40 remained.
thanks. I initially thought the post meant they admit excess capacity with the hope of having a specific failure rate to have the standard capacity.

This model is flawed, you withhold admission letter illegally after jamb must have issued it, allow the student pay tuition for 2 semesters, then if he/she has a CGPA of 2.4 you expel him/her, the school should just wait to hear from my lawyer. #Nonsense

Exactly my point, that is even more worst than the P-UTME. They simple conduct oral interviews, screen the few that cannot defend themselves verbally but who might be good in writing, and offer a place to the sweetmouths in the institution....

Thereafter, a year goes by, then those sweet motuhs cant defend themselves in reading and writing, u now chase them out.

What then happens to the huge fees and registration levies collected from them? any refund? OP, say something oh
Re: POST-UTME Screening Exercise: The University Of Abuja Model by DOCTORPRESH: 12:54am On Jun 08, 2016
Not bad at all... Internal exams are easier to smash, getting a CGPA less than 2.5 in 100L clearly spells unseriousness... I think this method let's you decide your fate.

OlujobaSamuel:

I kindly disagree with it.
that means even if all students strive to beat the standard(2.5), due to the excess admitted, they will raise the standard midway into the game so as to have an ideal population of students for each department.
they shouldn't assume students would fail just because we know there will be academically unfit students.
they should just admit whatever their capacity is, even having an admission letter is not a guarantee that one will finish the program.

Having recorned with your point of viewn . .

Dont you think raising the standard of education in nig universities is ideal?
Even when we erase the assumption that students (some ) ll fail, dont some studnt still fail?
Even when schools admit their rwquired capacity, dnt they still withdraw student from key dept (how do dey create space for direct entries)??
