* National Vehicle Identification Tag
* Any other vehicle document that is deemed to be relevant.

4) Ensure that such vehicle carry the number plate of the country of origin affixed to the appropriate spaces at the front and rear of the vehicle.
5) If the vehicle is to remain in Nigeria for more than 90 days, you are required to change the number plate to a Nigerian number plate.
6) Ensure that you have an international driving permit issued from your country as well as your country's normal driving licence.
7) If you intend to drive in Nigeria for more than 30 days, you must obtain the appropriate Nigeria driver's licence for the category of your vehicle.

Nice info but the uninformed corporals and sergeants will still want to keep you waiting because you aren't wielding a Nigeria issued driver's license.

9. If you're driving in Lagos, you must acknowledge the presence of Danfos, Dangote Trucks and Containers, else you may go back home with a dented car.

If your car has tinted glasses, make sure you have the biometric tinted permit. You could easily end up with terrorism charges and your car siezed by the police.

Ok.. The requirements that permit you to drive in South Africa as a foreigner is as follows:

(1) your drivers license from your country of origin which must be accompanied with a certified letter from your foreign Embassy

(2) vehicle license which
must be appended to the wind screen

(3) make sure the car is road worthy

NB; Govt have no business with vehicle insurance. it's no bodies business if you insure your car or not

(4) there is nothing like importation of motor vehicle all vehicles in S/A have their plants and being assembled locally

(5) If you commit an offense the metro police which specialized in traffic will issue you a ticket equivalent to the fine, either is a wrong packing with one months grace to pay

if you have an accumulation of more than six months a letter of default will be sent to you before your car can be confiscated

Police have no business with motor vehicles except it is suspected to be a stolen car

if it can be proven that a particular law enforcement agent received bribe that is the end of his career

if a law enforcement agents can prove you bribed him that's behind bar for you.
