Ameen God bless and provide for the kids, but I don't agree with the action of the mother, Is that what you People call Mothers love? Really! You mean a mother that's willing to risk her children's lives and her own life too just to get to Europe? It's a very risky trip for adults not to talk of juvenile (kids), sometimes they charge up to $5,000 plus per person for the trip meaning the mother probably payed millions of Naira for the trip. They're many businesses you can do with that kind of money in Nigeria she really don't have to make that risky trip when she already have access to that kind of money.
The unexamined life is not worth living.
No rational woman would choose to endanger the life of her kids. Something must have prompted her to embark o. Such risky journey.

Crossing to Europe to do what? for greener pastures?

The money she used in boarding that boat with her kids would have been able to start a petty business here in Nigeria and slowly but surely, God would pick her call

Please Africans, please Nigerians we don't need to travel abroad to make it, we just need to think broad.

May her soul rest in peace.
start up what? So that they can multi-tax her and Baddo will come and rape her and brutalise her children ??

Two Nigerian children were pictured crying profusely in photos gone viral after losing their mum on their way to Europe from their overcrowded boat off the coast of Libya while trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea into Italy.

In a bid to escape the crippling economic conditions in Nigeria, countless Nigerians on a daily basis embark on a journey to Europe, through the back door, and while many make it, for many others, it is their last journey before finding cold solace among the sea beds of the Mediterranean sea except if their corpses are recovered.

In some heartbreaking photos making rounds online and social media, two Nigerian siblings aged 10 and 11, recently lost their mother on one of those ill-fated trips embarked upon by African migrants to Europe.

The pair, whose collective anguish, was captured on camera, were among 150 migrants recently rescued from an overcrowded rubber boat along the coast of Libya as they attempted to transverse the Mediterranean into Italy.

The heartbreaking photos shows the sibling's pain as they cried their lungs out just as they sought to console one another.

Are all the 150 on board Nigerians? Could it not have been the kids losing their lives and not the parents? Could it not have been all of them. What and who gave them the guarantee that Europe is better? Haven't we been seeing how bad their own economy is especially the PIGS (Portugal, Ireland, Greece and Spain), Is Italy itself not overhyped in terms of economic prospect? Perhaps, Nigeria has the highest number of prostitutes there and when you watch documentaries of what they go through you had ask why they do not stay back in Nigeria. Times may be tough, but I think greed and feel-good information based on premeditated stories and pictures lure people to take such risk. too bad!

.
.
She must have promised those kids a better life, 3 square meals when they get to Europe...
But Alas!! Death has snatched away that dream and even stopped her of fulfilling the basic promise every mum makes to her kids which is "I will always be with you"
.
.
.
She must have fought for her breath...and at same time shielded her children from being suffocated or pushed down and matched to death from the surging crowd....
As she dies...her dim eyes still sees the crystal clear tear drops from the heavy of her children
"mummy mummy mummyyyyy" the children screams
Trying hard to reply ..her lips gets stiffer....
Deep within her heart she says "Am sorry dearies, sorry I couldn't make it...sorry for not getting to Europe with you...forgive me for putting you through all the sufferings but for your own good I started this journey"
.
.
"mummy we love you don't die" the kids scream..
She feels her lips and voice come alive again...
She replies "I love you too"
But the kids don't hear her
Wait
Wait
Wait
She's dead already...Death was so impatient for a final good bye

wait o who be this? na Nollywood? crisis!!!!

Things are not that bad! What is worse is the ignorance that fuels these journeys.

I know of a casual earning 600 a day who was duped of 600,000 by a conman who promised to get him a visa. Can't 600,000 set you up here?

That boat ride probably cost between $500 to $1,000 a person. That's at least $1,500 for the 3. That over 500k. I am sure she can set up a small biz with it to keep body and soul together.

These people travel with do many delusions

There is nothing wrong with what the parents did. They only followed the principle of 'get rich or die trying.' may their souls rest in peace. God will protect and have mercy on the orphans.

bro the point I was trying to make is that, even in Naija one can still make it without traveling out.
I own macotrading car scrap and dismantling company here in japan and I can say all that came as a result of long years of hard work.
But like I said there are few of my friends back home who are doing wonderfully well too even though they've not traveled out of naija for the first time.
