The athlete who started off strong in the race was caught up with by the four gold medal winning Allyson Felix who was believed to have wrapped up the race until the sudden dive which changed the whole story.



Following her announcement as the winner, she said: “I’ve never done it before.


“I have some cuts and bruises, a few burns… it hurts”.

Miller added: “When I was on the ground I didn’t know I’d won,’ the gold medalist added. ‘I still don’t know how it happened.



“What was in my mind was I had to get a gold medal. The next thing I was on the ground. It’s an amazing feeling”.

22-year-old Miller finished the race to win a Gold medal in 49.44 seconds.

Sometimes, I believe I am ahead of my mates, I thought about this longtime ago buy I worry why its not been used to win race. I thought may be it was not allowed now someone else has done it. Think about it, with the accelleration of 9ms per second, you can dive upto 15m/second and that would give u a 100m race for 9.5s..(world record)

I don't think she intended to dive. Watch the replay, she had bent forward in an attempt to dip as she approached the finish line and then fell flat on her tummy.
That technique would've been a disadvantage if she wanted to win by all means. She was leading going into the last 10 meters before Felix seem to catch up. I think she wanted to force out something from her reserve to propel her through the line before that fall. She clearly stumbled.

I don't see any difference between this and diving in soccer, there should be consequences.

Did she say she fell? Why you twisting the story. She dived on purpose and attested to that fact. So what's your deal?

Just like scoring an offside goal in a footbal pitch, diving on finish line in racing should not be allowed. To make it a fair race, the foot which touches the last line first should be declared the winner otherwise people would start diving into finish line from 100 meters behind

Every one calling this lady a cheat is wrong. The rule of the game is you have to carry your body without the aid of any mechanical Instrument.

If you like jump, run, crawl or glide just reach the finish line before any other person. If you are familiar with the sport you will know that it is not only your foot that must touch the finish line but any of your body parts and that is why when runners are close to the finish line they trust their heads forward to beat other runners close to them.

And mind you judges at the level of the Olympics are not incompetent and neither are they fools.

i was also surprised to see she wasnt disqualified.the lady's conscience judge her to the xtent dat she couldnt celebrate her victory...im not a fan of felix,but she deserve the medal...she (shaunae) would have won with huge margin if she hadnt picked the lane 8....she wanted to use nierkek's method
