Under DX12 it might you know. AMD cards with the GCN 1.1 architecture and above have seen a boost in performance using the new API, Nvidia not so much as only the Pascal architecture has support for Async Compute. The previous Gears of war that flopped big time had a DX12 patch, the new GOW is built up from scratch so will have better optimisation, but that's just a guess.
I'll keep an eye on the new DX12 titles coming. It will give a better indication how the high-end cards will perform.

I neva said it wont run at 4k o. I only said it wont run at 60fps. The ideal sttings would probably run at 40-50 fps.

Already, benchmarks i've seen on current games at 4k run around 30-50fps. That's for both the 1070 and 1080. And considering there are still minor issues with DX12 and the new pascal cards, plus looking at the ideal settings for GOW4, the only way they might get 60fps out of the game at 4k settings will be running the game with SLI configs.

AMD shouldn't ve these issues tho
