bro, do not lose hope. Am currently a master's student in the UK.. the thing is whenever I think of the situation back home, it pains me a lot, which is why I do part time work here to save up and start up a good business when I get back home, without relying on collar jobs or my people at home. at least for someone like u, u would have worked hard to save up more money so that it won't be difficult for u. anyways good luck tho.,

I I'll advice u to quickly initiate a PhD program in new Zealand, Germany or Australia. In these places, u can secure funding and u I may end up becoming a citizen. Tru Dat way, u can recoup d money u spent in UK. Not time wasting in Nigeria of now in d name of looking for jobs..

Bad Advice, even advanced countries talk about the power of your network. Getting a degree with no network is an attempt at suicide.

my very good friend also wanted to follow the same route back then in 2004 ,but he changed his mind after observing severally uk masters holder coming back to najia to hustler job with fellow nigerian peeps .
so he invested in uk fees in several fixed income (treasury bill and bonds) bought a land too for 750k
12 year now he has done an MBA in nijia for 200 k
his govt bond is now over 25 million naira and it pays him around 300 k monthly till around 2036 shocked
his 750k land was sold for 9 million naira last year which he paid as deposit for 15 million naira mortgage in abuja
he also a level 12 officer with federal govt of Nigeria with prospect of become a director or permanent secretary
he just 34 yrs and balling well
lesson learnt ...he was advice to remain in Nigeria after getting the government job and denied a visa but it was blessing in disguise

case 2..a friend resign a government job to go for MBA in the uk on the amnesty program me ..salary 200k permonth
3 year after MBA no jobs around in baylesa he is managing a local govt job to keep body and soul

case 3 another chap left for canada for master in engineering
he now in slumbeger earning around 13 million annually......

I hope the op reads this.
I will advise you to keep the remaining property you have and don't rush into business.
Start a business that interests you by the side and gradually grow in it. You will definitely have teething problem and challenges at the start and even make some mistakes and loss. But eventually, you will get the hang of it. Then you can raise money through your property after like 5 years experience.
If you had started business with the money realized through the property sold for your masters, you may have lost it big time.
Any business should be started tentatively during this recession. Even established firms aren't finding it easy.
I'm sure that something will still come up with your masters certificate. It's not totally useless.

This is a typical example of when a certificate becomes our enemy. Must we be employed? Don't we have passion for anything that we can develop and sell? We have become nothing but dependent on others searching for how to blame the system instead of ourselves. It's a shame if we have reached this height and yet we can't activate the creative power of the brain to serve us. In the voice of born again Christian, if you go school and you can't do anything for yourself outside your certificate, you need deliverance.

Will says; "See, the sad thing about a guy like you is, in 50 years you're gonna start doin' some thinkin' on your own and you're going to come up with the fact that there are two certainties in life: one, don't do that, and two, you dropped 150 grand on a fuckin' education you could have got for a dollar fifty in late charges at the public library!"

I'm sure your Big break's coming, and it's then your UK training will distinguish you from the mediocres.

In the meantime, even an O n G job won't save you from Buharinomics so I'd say learn what vehicles are at your disposal currently and run with the one(s) most within your reach it's what everyone's at right now.

You are a fool, big fool, with just 1million naira a reasonable, logical person will start a business that wil fetch you over to 1 million naira every month, what were you thinking?, Nigeria has its numerous problems, but its still a country with numerous business opportunities its like a gold mine, you just have to open your eyes and see, people are starting business with about 200,000 and making about 350,000 per month, started my business jointly with my mum with about 700,000 and its making about 800,000 profit every month, in dis economy and present day Nigeria when you look at sectors like AGRICULTURE, TRANSPORTATION, ADVERTISING, CONSUMER FOOD PRODUCTION, SALES and lots more , its just dat most youths are stupid and lazy, you should have listened, to your mum, you might still find a job, but you can never reach your full potential especially financially with those kind of jobs, as an entrepreneur, that amount you spent is enough to start a profitable business for over 100 hardworking entrepreneurs

The real cause of unemployment here is that you took an entire 6m, to go study for a masters degree....With less than 1m you'll get a masters in naija and run a sizable business with the remaining 5m. So again....foo.lishness.
