But, even if the girl actually refused to answer the man's question (which can be taken as an insult), does it really warrant a slap? To me, the only thing that should warrant a slap is if she slapped the man first not if she ignores his questions cos no law anywhere says that I must answer every question a stranger asks me. I stand to be corrected, though.

in actual sense that kind of abuse cannot happen in a saner clime order wise the soldier would loose his job if find guilty, but heeh, this is Nigeria where rule of law is only written on the pieces of papers and where justice is for the highest bidders

..... .I wasn't comfortable so we had to go out and we where about leaving when a guy approached me ( army officer not dressed in his uniform )  and asked me of the people with us; I was surprised because I was invited and didn't know much people in the party. But I didn't answer him then ,he told me he would slap me if I don't tell him. I was surprised and asked him why? Before I could recall what was happening he gave me a dirty slap. Now I'm wondering; do men go about slapping  any female they see? or the men in our country have lost the respect they have for women? It is a big shame for a soldier in the Nigerian  army to act with such irresponsible behaviour. And when he was asked why he did what he did, his reply was "do you know who I am" #StandAgainstMilitaryIntimidation #MenShouldNotHitWomenForNoReason #TheMilitaryShouldProtectAndNotIntimidateOurWomen‎"[/i]

FIRST, d guy - soldier or civilian shdnt assault anyone for doing no wrong.

SECONDLY, madam EX-beauty queen, any right thinking NIGERIAN male or female will feel slighted d way u did to d 'gentleman', so stop playing d sexism card. A simple 'No' reply might have avoided d ugly scenario ur Ego put u thru!
Even a younger person to u would feel slighted.

Again, ds isn't supporting d 'thugz' action!

Military Humiliation!!! Ex- IMO State Beauty Queen Slapped By An Army Officer

Immediate past Miss Imo State Queen, Stephenie Korie was yesterday night humiliated by undressed army man at a graduation party of her friends.

Read her reaction and the full gist below:

"Nigeria has turned to something else where men treat women with no respect. I'm so disappointed with our military;  they treat women with no respect . I've been hearing stuffs about the things they  do in Aba, Abia States but didn't believe until it happened to me tonight . I actually went to my friends graduation party with my younger sis  in my school, when all of a sudden some guys started fighting. I wasn't comfortable so we had to go out and we where about leaving when a guy approached me ( army officer not dressed in his uniform )  and asked me of the people with us; I was surprised because I was invited and didn't know much people in the party. But I didn't answer him then ,he told me he would slap me if I don't tell him. I was surprised and asked him why? Before I could recall what was happening he gave me a dirty slap. that is how soldiers would slap your sisters, wife and daughters simply because they did not answer a question. its not his right to get an answer from her. besides we know the sense of entitlement soldiers have. he must have demanded the answers in a condescending tone...

no matter what, it is not enough reason to lay hands on a woman. if he really felt aggrieved, he should have arrested her instead

Army violence in Nigeria knows no gender! Stop trying to make a gender issue out of it and present the problem as a gender matter.

It has become a fad these days to whip up unnecessary sentiment by making common problems gender issues.

This is an army problem which has repeatedly occurred with males at the receiving end. It isn't a gender matter .

She didn't tell us the way she answered the soldier it's obvious she ridiculed him with her attitude. She never see anything yet at least she has learnt her lesson. Probably she thought the soldier wanted to toast her

Nigeria army has no respect for the common man. Stop playing gender card with everything. It is getting annoying.

These guys once delayed me for two hours because I used the money that can buy Nigeria used golf 3 car to buy a motorcycle. Ever seen anything that silly? But that's not what I want to talk about.

While I was there, a young soldier stopped a Prado Jeep. The wife of the driver insulted the soldier not knowing that another soldier was close to them and heard her.

The soldier told the husband to come and when he did, the soldier told him to strip to his boxers and start waving at every car that passes.

If these guys are against women as this yeyebrity is portraying them then I don't see why the husband was made to suffer the punishment for offense committed by his wife

Those soldiers actually did the right thing tho.

Even back in school when babes misbehave it's their BF/ boys who visit their lodge that will carry the wahala

Why? Cos it is believed a woman has NO MIND/LIVER except the one her husband/bf gave her i.e. na the man dey make the woman misbehave. Lols

I'm very sure when they got home after the man is thru with his wife she won't fvck up outside again lols

in as much as I'll love to standup for a fellow lady against police brutality or army brutality i know theres two side to every stories and the girl must have done something out of arrogance, and because she thought the man was a nobody, had it been he is on uniform the girl would have obeyed and avoided what happened

So, if person no answer your question, Na to slap am be the next move? With this main mentality ehn, naija go only continue to rotten

Nigeria uniform men will never learn lesson. Instead of the uniform to humble them, they've seen it as an ID to humiliate themselves not the citizens.

I remembered once @ Funmicino airport in Rome, when 3 of their army officer arrived the airport on journey out of Italy in their full regalia. Surprisingly, the most senior among them needed to seat because the other two had found a seat. I offered him my seat, but he refused and said that he was supposed to stand up for me if I haven't find seat instead of him. He later sat down on the floor by my side before they went for their flight that morning.

I could imagine a high rank Nigeria army doing such at MMIA. Instead, they will go around intimidating people around in the airport. Nigeria need complete overhauling and not until the day that the FG will spell it out to our uniform men that they are suppose to protect, honour and respect citizen of this country, I'm afraid things will continue like this.

Sorry our princess. That man that slapped you was a mistake in the Nigeria army.

Feminism has so clouded the sense of reasoning of some people that they dont hesitate to play the gender Card whenever it involves a man....am not in support of soldier brutality, it is highly animalistic buh here in Nigeria we all know soldier brutality is against all civilians and not just a gender, why present it like its only against women....do not forget also that earlier this year a female cadet beat up a man cos he complemented her, if you are against it, fight against it, do not make it a gender game.....

Yours is the only sensible and objective opinion I've read. The Miss Imo chick is obviously lying. You went for a party. There was a fight.you were leaving. And an ununiformed soldier asked you who they were..and then he slapped you..shes being economical with the truth.. we all know how rude girls like her can be. And when they can't get their way they will turn feminists and turn it into a sexist attack. Same thing Linda Ikeji did when Wizkid threatened her. They will turn feminists all of a sudden. Abeg go and drink water wash the slap down. And next time don't be rude

Hey, I think your comment is more stupid. Nigerian soldiers have been brutalizing innocent citizens from time immemorial and we don't seem to care. Being an ex beauty queen does not make her special. Next time she should channel her grievances to the appropriate quarters and not the internet.

By the way, have you heard the soldier's side of the story?

she earned it, so many educated illiterates this days, she obviously thought she was on Facebook or some media where they act all sassy to men, not every guy wants a date, even if they do, turn them down politely and take a walk, life is too short for some proud pompous attitude o'er what? it wouldn't cost her a thing to answer the question asked, but she was too big and even shameless to come on social media to cry foul, funny thing is,she still haven't learnt a thing with the tone her msg portrayed...she needs a better slap.
