I was reading an article earlier this morning; according to the article, there's apparently a popular adage I'm the business world that people don't leave bad jobs, they leave bad bosses... in essence people quit their jobs more often because of their boss than because they have the job. what I want to know is would you as a nigerian quit your job because your boss is a gigantic pain in your asss? even if you get paid fairly well...

yes I can leave a bad boss.

a bad boss will not only make life miserable, he can kill the potential, morale, and efficiency of his workers.

why work in a place, where you are treated less like a human.

abeg,let him keep his money.

my sanity matters.

its better I earn moderately, and have a peace of mind, than allow a bad boss drives me nut.

A big YES. Irrespective of pay. Especially all those private companies belonging to families. The prime movers can be a pain in the ass*. I once walked out on an employer in Benin whose son runs the company like a slave camp. Incidentally, the name of the company is associated with freedom. The pay was fairly okay and at that time, I had saved quite some amount to feed my self while searching for another job. Ol'boy! I just threw in the towel. As God would do His wonders, I got a job 10 times better (in pay and working conditions) not long after.

Bad bosses would give you terminal illness...you had better run bro.

Yes, I've done it before....

If you have a stressful job and a good & understanding boss, you won't feel it to much.

But an easy job with a bad boss would be like hell.

Some bosses just enjoy frustrating/disturbing their employees...

I have done it before... would probably do it again.

By the way, based on my findings on similar topic for a research work, most leave their jobs because of bad bosses.

Depends on the pay

20-50k: i will slap the boss before i resign

50-100k: i will give him a piece of my mind before i resign

100-250k: i will put it in prayers

250-500k: i will pray for my boss to change

500-1m: i will manage the i.d.i.o.t like that

It's depends on a whole lot; The pay, how often he/she gets to be a pain in my ass, how passionate I am about the job e.t.c

But the most important is the pay. If it's not worth the stress I will not even think twice. I wouldn't continue working for someone who wants to kill me with stress, a bad attitude and a crappy pay.

Currently undergoing emotional stress under a bad boss.

I would not quit cos both of us are colleagues and none of us owns the company.

No one in his right senses would quit his job in this recession.
Except of course you are so damn sure of how to get your next meal.

My Bad Boss made me work Past my closing hour. (got home around 2.am)...
My Bad Boss didn't pay me for more than 6month even though I made millions for him.
My Bad Boss screwed up my mind, made me believe my dream can't come true.
My Bad Boss never gave me credit.
My Bad Boss loves to eat Nored biscuits n Coca-Cola zero.
My Bad Boss is not the pain in the ass
My Bad Boss is the ass.

The day I dumped him..... He started sweet talking me, promising a bigger pay, appreciating me.

I was like, sorry BadBoss, this ship has sailed..... wink

l met with a kenyan recently who told me the reason why he left his job at GTbank in Nairobi was that his Nigerian boss wanted the "Nigerian yes sir, yes sir" attitude from him and that he couldn't stomach it!....lol!

I once did.
The job was becoming a nightmare and the so called boss was saucy up to the heavens. He demanded my all, with no appreciation. I thought I could make a difference and stay(cos he has a bad reputation with worker, who were leaving in droves), but I had to advice myself.
I stayed a full two weeks to at home regain my consciousness and self respect/boldness, before another search.
That was the first time I left a work without a fall back plan

I had a bad boss who was terribly insecure, promoted rancor among staff and wouldn't stop telling both senior and junior staff how terrible this staff or that staff was, especially when he felt threatened by the staff in question.

I most definitely moved on, and I am much better for it. My productivity has improved greatly and I feel better appreciated now plus I have had a lot of opportunities I would never had smelt on the old job.
