So much bullshxt falling off you. The only reason i pay for Ntel is because of Unlimited. As i now wanted to download Call of Duty nko? Coming here to say shxt about abuse. The people that download games all over the world and use the internet they paid with their HARD EARNED money. What do you think they use to download it? Dial-up connection? Limited internet? It's until i pay 1K for 1.5GB on Etisalat 44times, that is when I'm doing it right yes?
Oga just park well abeg. 'Anywhere in the world, this is abuse of service'. Lol WTF?!
When FIFA 17 came out, i was chatting with my guy online in the UK. It is 40GB. I told him i already pre-ordered the game, he said he didn't buy it yet. He bought it immediately as we were talking. The same 40GB that Spectranet was telling me 11hrs left, he downloaded it in just over 30mins! 40GB in 30mins!
He started playing it before 1 hr and i was busy restarting Spectranet router.
He abused the service too right? Or is his case different?

e don do please. make una no vex. i won't comment about your posts anymore
enjoy the carnival whilst it lasts.

i think i can afford every byte of data i need on any network, likewise everyone here, irrespective of how its priced.
so please, e never bring quarrel.

i'm pretty sure that i can explain my POV with enough logic, likewise you guys too.

and lets not insult each other please. by all indications many of us won't say these words to the other folks when we meet them IRL.
cause i know some folks here who had graduated and were working at the time nairaland was started. so if you gauge their age and standing in life you will see that they aren't our mates by any measure. lets be guided please

Thanks @Saint2ace @Dam5reey

Leave them to say whatever they want. If i pay 10,000 naira for unlimited internet. It's because i want unlimited internet. Because i have alot of things to download.

If not, why not just save myself 8,500 and pay 1K5 for 2GB or 2.5GB from regular networks? or better still pay like 500 or 700 even 1K for 1GB and save my 9K. Did they tell u i don't know what to do with money? I paid money for unlimited fast internet because i want unlimited fast internet. Afterall, i paid 10K for spectranet and got 50GB i could only use down to 30GB, how much more for something that actually works? Or is the idea now going to be... Yes! thats good! It's good that spectranet is slow so that no one can 'abuse' it?

@dustmalik
The truth is, even in countries like U.S, Canada, UK, no LTE wireless network offers unlimited internet anymore, in order to prevent abuse of network. In fact, only wired and WiFi networks offer unlimited.

Sorry but using your logic, someone downloading 1TB a day on 'wired and WiFi networks' isn't infact abusing the 'unlimited' internet?
My brother, if they can't handle it... They will stop the unlimited. They can handle it. That's why they are offering UNLIMITED internet, No strings attached. They are saying, hey! Large data users, switch to us. We will charge you sha oh! But u go download tire. When i have something to download, i will download... When i dont have anything to download i will leave it alone. It's not called abuse but 'Bang for Buck'

In the end, leave matter abeg. Lol. Cheers!

I love this ur comment. I've been enjoying ntel unliimited for some time now. It is the best option for heavy users if u have coverage. Now I can leave my windows 10 laptop on automatic update, before now I normally switch to tethered to avoid automatic update. I can now update my ps4 and download free games as I'm a PS plus user. I can download or stream every episode of my favorite shows, I can watch YouTube without fear of data exhaustion. Isn't that wonderful.

Now for the past 10 days I got nothing to download and I don't think ive used up to 4gb for the past 10 days. So it is true, when we have nothing to download we rest.

Re: Subscriber Options for UNLIMITED Internet - WORTH IT? by 4llerbuntu(m): 9:17pm On Nov 07, 2016
@greenhulk I'm just very amused at why you think others aren't using the thing.

Do you realize what it takes in data consumption to watch 720P football streams ? Watch 1080P movies and shows all the time? Do dev work day in day out?

Lol.

Is it until they post screenshot to brag? Unlimited internet is nothing new. Even before 4G we have been enjoying that so kini big deal? When spectranet had unlimited plan I paid for it. When swift had, ditto. Even today Smile has unlimited plan grin
Countless mtn , glo etc fbt.

Abeg let's face serious issues. No be this kain thing dey trip person please

Simple and short. We download when we have stuff to download and use normally when we don't. I didn't use up to 200MB yesterday. If not for instagram, 100MB.

Ha ha ... I dey come home soon. 10 k for 50 gigs is Enuff ... worse scenarios 30 k per month which is rare.
Re: Subscriber Options for UNLIMITED Internet - WORTH IT? by Stanley08(m): 10:17am On Nov 08, 2016
I think you mistook excitement for bragging. Because i was pretty much excited/surprised i was able to complete 40GB in just over 4hrs. Averaging 10GB/hr give or take. Compared to spectranet that took me 'weeks' to download the same 40GB.

@4llerbuntu abeg who 'bragging' about fast internet epp?

i didn't address that post to you nor was i commenting about your previous posts.

i was addressing Greenhulk's comment. EVery comment i make here cannot be linked to your posts perpetually. incidentally, if you do a bit of digging, i have always said something similar about other posts on other threads.... so it really has nothing to do with you.

Besides I think i apologised to you earlier for commenting about your posts?

I bought NTEL sim to test...
Did the 1k plan for 2 days

The speed was about 24mbps at Ikeja.. with 3 bars

The network is good at streaming... 1080p without buffering... Great

I did about 6GB
I noticed there network..

On getting home.. Abule Egba... I got Full bar.. unfortunately.. the speed was capped at 14.42mbps..

Doesn't sound like capping to me.
if you're being capped, you will be capped everywhere. Probably a function of other users, contention, and RF bandwidth available to you at Abule-Egba.

They have some weird thing going on though, my downloads from file sharing services have gone slow (100kbps), but direct downloads are fast(1mbps)

Maybe they are throttling file hosts?

Though i don't know what's really going on there, but cell sites can be capped. Some service providers do that.

Haha. That one na your perception. Try to ask someone who actually knows radio engineering.
Not in Nigeria. the issue is usually backhaul, as some sites may have more backhaul capacity than others.
I.e. microwave vs FOC.
You can only cap speeds at the core, not RAN.

whst am not sure of is how long their "unlimited" offer would last .

It's a 3-month offer.
You buy a weekly, monthly, or 2-day data plan and use unlimited for 3 months. After which you get a quota for those plans, or you buy their real unlimited, which is around same price with Smile.

But right now I think people are firing on after 3 months. They also have some night plans (10pm-6am) which is sold at half the price of the 3-month unlimited plans. Those ones are perpetual. 2 nights of 6 hours per night is N500, 7 nights is 1500, and 30 nights is 5k.
So when you want to download you can fire those ones overnight and still chop better quota.

so if i subscribe for unlimited for 3 months in a row for the fourth month its capped?

Yep you have to do some manual configuration, just go to the network selection and select 4G Only then create a new APN; just put ntel as the APN no username nor password, you should be good to go.

ntel is not capping even after three months, for now the unlimited is their edge so they are not planning to stop it
