The Oba is speaking from both sides of his mouth. He was reported to have said he received no summons to appear in court. Now he says he was represented by 5 lawyers and traditional rulers.

Was it before or after the summons? Also he said earlier the court has no jurisdiction to entertain the matter.

Now he says it's a civil matter. Can someone please tell this flip-flopping Oba that even in civil matters contempt of court is a criminal matter attracting jail time? The Oba has something to hide that's why he's running from the law.

This is where Nigerians frighten me. Their thought process is amazing. How do you know he is a fraudster? Only a court of law can determine if his guilty or not. What you should be talking about is his total disregard of a summons and not his alleged crime. To you all, not showing up to court is as normal as breathing. This jungle justice mentality needs to stop.

There seem to be an abuse of Court Process or a political undertone in the matter.

If the Monarchy had defrauded anyone thru 'yahoo yahoo scheme', its the duty of the victim to petition the NPF and the NPF would arrest and prosecute by dragging the accused before a Court of competent jurisdiction.

In which case it would be the duty of the NPF to produce the accused before the Court and where they fail, the Court would issue an order for the NPF to produce and not the Court directing its order or bench warrant on the accused.

Criminal matters can only be prosecuted by the Police but when the Police Force is also a respondent in a case,then it becomes a non criminal matter. Branding the monarchy as a fraudulent person is now a case of giving the dog a bad name just to hang it. We need to understand the dictates of the law before we 'crucify' someone and the law demands due diligence is observed at all times.

It's refreshing to read such an astute response.

What are you going on about? It is not for him to determine which case the CP can bring to court or not. Last i checked 419 is a section in the criminal code. Once a court process is served, he is expected to appear in court. If you don't appear in court, a bench warrant shall be issued by the court. He should go and face the charges brought against him.
