To PLAYERS ON TRANSFER TRIALS:
THE BIGGER PICTURE.
Pls in d bid 2 sign 4 clubs let's take a look at the BIGGER PICTURE!
IMOO, what matters most is d FLEXIBILITY of d work.
CASE 1:
Club "A" wants 2 sign u for, let's say 100k with d following conditions:

(i) closing time = 6pm, so in essence, ALL ur fruitful part of d day had been sapped by d school.

(ii) private lessons is PROHIBITED, even if d student's parent made d move.

(iii) whether u have lectures or not, u must not leave d school UNTIL closing time+other "big schools" protocols.

(iv) u are given a marketing target 2 bring students 4 d school, like someone mentioned on this thread about NewHall Int sch, lekki.

(v) u practically travel 2 work everyday eg working in lekki but living in sango, spending at least 1k on transport(=20k per month, or 25k-with Saturdays) leaving u with net pay of 75-80k)

(vi) u are practically SPENT due 2 day2day school work+traffic hold-up (Some spend as much as 3hrs on d road) by d time u get home by 9pm, which time u want take do private lessons? Would u even have d strength?

(vii} u even go to school (school lessons) on Saturdays COMPULSORILY. Which time u want take develop/upgrade urself (eg pgd's certifications etc). Remember, ds no be govt work o, so (in most cases) no pension!

(viii) they feel they "own" u/ are doing u a favor because they are paying u "heavilly"(sic) irrespective of ur competency/handwork.

CASE 2:
Club "B" signs u for 40-50k and:

(i) closing time is 3-4 pm, which means u still have at least 2 "light" hrs 2 do ur own runz (eg home Tutor, vocational studies, certificate upgrade etc). Moreover, NO COMPULSORY SATURDAY LESSONS.

(ii) private teaching is allowed in as much u do it during break/after school hrs, that means more cash-flow.

(iii) flexibility in quickly touching 1/2 places outside during ur free periods.

(iv) ur school is within ur hood, so no transport fare "hole". "Stress of traveling " is also eliminated.

(v) due to (i} and {iv} above, u have EXTRA ENERGY 2 do ur runz. If u can get 5 private teaching locations @ 10k/location, that gives 50k. Add that to ur 40-50k, that gives u 90k minimum.

(vi) since ur SATURDAYS ARE YOURS (and not d school's) , u can upgrade urself certificate-wise, have more time on ur laps 4 private home teaching, hence more income!

CONCLUSION: When u look @ it finely, u'll see dt what u lose @ d end of d day in signing 4 dt "big" club may be MORE than d gain.

So in putting Pen 2 paper, ie b4 u make dt "mega-deal" move, ensure u don't fix ur gaze on the GROSS PAY. Instead, put all other factors into consideration, ie, LOOK AT THE NET PAY!

This is a follow up to my post above as regards salaries of teachers in "specific location".

Negotiation is key to getting the needed salary, although preference is given to B.Ed & B.sc edu. gradutes because that is their terrain. More often that not, they are paid the same with other degree holders. A "few"schools pay them a little above other degree holders.

P.S. Schools that are starting CANNOT pay you the needed salary. Some would increase your salary as the number of pupils increases, though there are exceptions especially for schools in highbrow areas and A'level or sixth form schools.

1. Ikorodu-Bayoku, Idiroko, Ajegunle, Igbogbo e.tc, some schools in Surulere 15k-22k (Likewise in Uwelu, Barrack and after the Airforce barracks in Benin, Edo State).
2. Bariga- Somolu & Bajulaye 28-30k depending on your qualifications;
3. Festac, Mile 2 & Apapa- 45-75k depending on your qualifications, PDGE inclusive;
4. Lekki-80k- 160k depending on your experiences, professional certifications and qualifications, Nursery and primary 40-60k(source: luffskidz);
5. Gbagada-60k depending on qualifications, experience; (oluemmakay could be reached for details).
6. Anthony- 70k depending on the school and location experience counts a lot plus professional qualifications;
7. Akute-Ajuwon Axis- 35-45k depending on the location, qualification and experience. Most of them usually have high turnover of teacher.... that leaves much to be desire (visit some post on pages 1-23).
8. Ipaja- 35-50k depending on location, qualification and experience... some are ready to give you accommodation. Based on information gathered on this thread, they would want applicants living in that axis.
9. Ayobo along Redemption camp-18k-28k (Not all schools in that location would pay such salary. Just a handful are willing to provide accommodation).
10. Jabi(Abuja), Maraba, Nyanya 25-45k- it depends on the school & location.
11. Ekiti depending on the school- 20k, some 35-45 depending on qualifications. Accommodation is provided for some schools.
12. Ile-ife- 60-75- OAU International school and Alex Henry Duduyemi Internationla school source-Prof-gday. Accommodation is given in certain school for experience hire.
13. Kwara-13k schools around Ansaru-deen, tanke, Taiwo, post office 25-30k
14. Zaria- 20k upwards
15. Ondo - depends on the curriculum, if it is A sixth form 80-150 with accommodation provided you have the perquisite qualifications.
16. Ogbomoso- details are still sketchy
17. Ogun- Mowe, Ofada, Lambe, Matugun, Ijoko, Are-po
It depends on the school, curriculum, qualifications and experience. In Abeokuta, there are A-level schools that pay well such as Daywaterman e.t.c other Nigeria curriculum schools to the best of my knowledge 60k.
18. Onitsha- 12-20k depending on school, qualifications ( from Information gathered, irrespective of qualifications in some quarters, they cannot pay above 40k).
19. Bayelsa- In Bayelsa, Belary Schools, Ayakpo Schools, Faith Comprehensive Sec. school (FACISS), Winners Academy(Not owned by Winners church o), Bieodomo Schools, Divine Comprehensive, New Total Child Academy and Benny Schools are the "Big ones" (though some other schools are springing up and giving the aforementioned schools a good run for their resources). so
Belary = 30,000 entry level may rise to 40 0r 45 but not above 45 plus Accomodation for few staff.
Ayakpo = same as Belary but with little/no accomodation.
FACISS = 30000 Entry level but can pay up to 60000
Winners = Negotiable entry but more rules as it regards dress style.
Bieodomo Schools = 35000 (but no holidays even in August else be ready to lose the month's salary)
Divine Comprehensive = 30,000 and may hit 60,000 depending on your impact.
New Total Child Academy = same as Divine Comprehensive
Benny Schools = Negotiable entry salary but not below 25000.

With this, you should be guided on what smaller schools pay.
the Minimum here in Bayelsa is 5000 (for WAEC holders teaching in private primary schools)

Feel free to ask questions or add if you are also in Bayelsa.Source: Makozona

20. Porthacourt- information from reliable source gathered from their thread and Morrygreat corroborating the said information. 25-30k. They also have the A-level schools that pay as high as 70k.

21. Ejigbo- 35-50k, power of negotiation is important and experience.

Caleb schools- 70-100k
Redeemers schools -90-150k
Chrisland- 80-120k
British international- 150k
Turkish international- 145k
American international 200k
Pampers- 95k

I also sympathise with school owners because they spend a lot, the reason they set up the business is to provide services at acceptable profit and reduce cost to the bearest minimum.

WARNING: The above should not be relied upon totally. You can either bargain below or above the stated figures above. I STRONGLY advice you do your findings so as to ascertain what is obtainable in the location above.
Re: Strictly For Those Interested In Teaching Jobs by Sunnypar(m): 11:24pm On Dec 29, 2016
Sunnypar:
I have been a member of this thread for some time now and have observed the trends, comics, job ads, relief and a few intellectual advice.

Teachers are the moulders of "our" future.

Observation:

1. Golden Dr., is an extra-ordinary person in the sense that he started this thread and has kept it going for almost a year despite challenges(because he was off the thread for sometime) . He offered to some very useful tips, words of advice, words of encouragement and how to go about the teaching interviews(Prof. Gday is also a member).

Some others later joined such as Pastordoalone, Ninilowo, DoveQueen ( they have since disappeared), givemejoy, artisticallyart, Prof Gday, not forgetting our own xtfield, manie, avicky and a few others.

2. Feedback is necessary in everything and anything we do. it determines decision making process , which could make it delayed or faster for individuals or corporate organisation. Many find it difficult to do this. Thanks to the fellow who posted pictures of a school and dilapidated structures and advertised it was a "reputable" school.... That is feedback. Most persons knew the next step to follow.

3.Some persons are just unfair, even after going through pages of newspapers for job ads, they find it difficult to share.... that to me is wickedness and heartlessness, YES!!! because the job maybe far away from you and someone could be close to where the job is.

4. Some that are far away from the "action" (where the jobs are concentrated) should do as the experts on this thread have suggested.

5. Typographical error should be discouraged for a teacher or would-be teacher on this thread (mediocrity should be discouraged) grammatical constructions and punctautions such as full stop, commas e.t.c are VERY important.

Suggestions:
it is good we have a forum like this and a thread solely for the teachers.

1. Feedback cannot be over- emphasized. Please do give feedback when necessary.

2. When you see a job ad that you know you are far from it, please post it.

3. It would not be a bad idea if we have individuals from say Gombe, Bayelsa, Zaria and the likes dropping teaching jobs in that region.

4. If each one can reach one, each one can teach one- Charles 'B'.

5. it would not be a bad idea if we know the salary range of schools within "specific" locations within a region like Lekki, Ajah, Badore, Ikorodu, Festac, Orile, Ringroad, Sabon geri,Ugbowo, Dugbe, Kubuwa, Kabba e.t.c by doing,it will save us a lot.

6. Ensure you read, re-read and read you post before posting, for crying out loud there is the modify button.

Thank you.

Sunnypar:
DayDream 1
We can live on love
Reality
Love will neither pay bills nor cover financial hardship. Research have shown that money to be a leading cause of marital dispute and eventual divorce. An unbalance view about money can lead to spiritual and emotional harm and can erode your relationship with your spouse. Don't wait until marriage to discuss money management.
Suggestion:
Talk over your future financial arrangement with your spouse now, before you are married. Consider such questions as these: How will our income be budgeted? Will we have a joint or separate bank accounts? Which spouse will be more adept at Keeping financial records and seeing that bills are paid? How much money can one spend on a purchase without consulting the other? Now is the time to start working as a team!

DayDream 2
We will be a perfect match as a married couple because we see eye to eye on everything, we never disagree!
Reality
if you never disagreed, its probably because you have carefully managed to avoid issues that might spark a conflict, but marriage will not afford you that luxury. The fact is, no two imperfect humans are perfectly matched, so a measure of disagreement is inevitable. You need to consider not only how well you disagree but also what happens when you disagree. A strong union is made up of two people who can openly acknowledge a difference and then work to settle the matter maturely and amicably.
Suggestion:
Reflect on how you have handled conflict with your parents, siblings and co-worker up to this point. Note specific event that have triggered a disagreement, how you responded and what respond might have been better. For Instance, if your impulsive response to conflict has been to storm off to your room and angrily slam the door or Bottle up the anger without responding, write down a better respond, that is, one that will work to resolve the problem rather than further entrench it. if you learn to respond better to conflict you will gain a skill that is crucial to a happy marriage.

DayDream 3
Once I get married, all my sexual desires will be satisfied.
Reality
Being married does not guarantee sex demand. Remember you spouse is a human being who has feelings that mist be considered. Frankly, there would be times your mate simply isn't in the mood for intimacy. Marriage does not give you the right to insist on having your needs fulfilled. The fact is self control is important in both singleness and marriage.
Suggestion:
Make a careful review of your sexual desires and tendencies, and think about how these might affect your marriage. For instance, are you enslaved to self-focused habit of masturbation? have you had a habit of viewing pornography? do you have a roving eye looking lustfully at members of the opposite sex?
Ask yourself, if I have trouble controlling my sexual desires before marriage, how will I be able to do so afterwards.
Another matter: Have you be prone to flirt and okay the field, earning a reputation as a play boy/runs girl among those of the opposite sex? if so, how do you plan to curtail that tendency after marriage, when your affection will need to be directed to one person?
To be continued.

RE: HELP!!! I NEED A TEACHING JOB.

MacJC: Teaching job yakpa nor be small!
.
Applicant: what's ds 1 saying sef, where are d teaching jobs? Where are d teaching jobs Adverts? Mtcheww!

.
MacJC: Many schools worth their salt won't place an open advert in front of dr school so as not 2 erode parents' confidence. Whoever wants to send his/her wards to a "teacherless" school, raise up ya hands! **picks teeth **.......... Exactly..... no one!

So if u are d type expecting 2 see a "vacancy for teachers" advert in front of d school,...... u are on a very l-o-o-o-o-n-g tinz!

------------------------------------

Applicant: How then do they advertise these teaching positions?
.
MacJC: Some advertise in d dailies but I tell u it's far in between. Those who do follow this approach are very, very, very....... very few! Due 2 d fact dt d vacancy needs be filled urgently , they ain't got no time for advertising in dailies, so they normally solve d isssh thru any of d following:
.

(i) CV bank:

the first port of call 4 d school when a vacancy occur is to explore their CV bank. Most often than not, they find candidates who fits d bill amongst d lot. So what happens is, they send out letters/mails/text Messages 2 ds guyz inviting dem 4 interviews and once they are satisfied with d output of one of d candidates,...... www.lobatan.cum!

Eyahhhhh......, while u are still expecting the school 2 place an advert, efrytinz haff feenis!

bottomline: submit ur CVs to schools within and without ur hood be4 hand irrespective of a vacancy or not!

.
***Google up schools in ur localty/state of residence or otherwise, and bombard dem with ur CV via mail!***

Trust me, they won't thrash it, they'll file it!
Once dey have ur CV, be rest assured they'll buzz u when a vacancy arises

**listening 2 Adekunle Gold's "Baba God Pickup d call" ***

.
(ii) By words of mouth:

When a space occurs in a school, teachers in that school know and if they have acquaintances who need the job, they give them d 411 asap!
So d school, gets to interview ds guyz in conjuction with those whose CVs they already have......... and when dey see what dey want out of d lot,........ www.dassol.cum

bottomline:

NETWORK! Make friends with fellow teachers online & offline. Let them know what u do, and if possible, u can give dem a copy (soft/hard) of ur CV. Trust me they'll be ur aiz and earz. Whenever stuffs comes up, pronto, them go ping u.......
For instance u may join ds thread's What'sApp group by mailing upload111 on upload556@gmail.com

---------------------------------

Applicant:

What if d school doesn't pay much?

.
MacJC:
Do u have a better option?

If yes, then call their bluff, but if no, take it!!!

See it as a learning curve 2 ur greatness.
Moreover, u should be "legally" creative. Let's say ur pay is 18k-minimum wage and d school is within ur hood (that's a no brainer- transport on top 18k, how much go remain nah?), u can augment ur pay with private lessons during ur school free periods and after school.
