It's amazing that in the late 90s (1998-1999) and early 2000s as a young kid of between 5 ('97) to 13 (2005), I could buy a lot of things with just 20 naira food money for a day and still have good change. We even had one naira coins then (today, one naira coin has gone far behind extinction itself... More like an extinction wrapped in an extinction).


Back then, One naira coin was still valuable and so very useful.

But today, I myself am shocked whenever I see sellers give me change and five naira is among the currency notes. I ask, "So five naira still exists in this country?"

I gave a woman selling pure water 2 five naira =10naira for a sachet of pure water but she rejected the two 5 naira

I went buying somethings some days back and there was a change of #5 naira but the women selling didn't have it to give to me so I decided to ask her to give me anything in her shop that sells for #5 and she was like: Oga, we no get anything for #5

#5 is still useful in the north, in borno your #5 can buy you water(it has never changed ever since), sweets and things are relatively cheaper.....u have to travel around to understand things
