I noticed the lack of information on this thread, so I'll try to provide some for the curious.
The dark web aka dark net [wikipedia][https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_web] is a part of the internet that uses encrypted peer-to-peer tor routing between you and the resource/url you want to visit. Here are the facts you need:
* It started, just like the regular internet (clear net), as a U. S. DARPA-funded project that eventually got taken over by a community of volunteers.
* The purpose of the project is to create anonymity online:
** Anonymity for you the user accessing a resource/url
** Anonymity for the server hosting the resource/url you're accessing
* Tor sites end with [.onion][https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.onion]
* To acesss .onion (tor) sites you need to use either of the following:
1. On windows: A modified version of firefox called the Tor Browser Bundle that can be downloaded [here][https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser.html.en]
2. Use an operating system designed for anonymity online such as The Amnesic Incognito Live System[TAILS][https://tails.boum.org/]
3. On debian/linux or ubuntu: download the tor browser launcher, which downloads the tor browser bundle viz:
* from your terminal or bash, type: sudo apt-get install torbrowser-launcher
4. Use gateway services such as Tor2web https://tor2web.org/
* People who've run into trouble with the law using tor sites did for one of the following:
* Distributing or watching child pornography (illegal in the U. S.)
* Distributing or selling drugs e. g. Silk road
* The dark net, however, hosts some resources/urls some people, especially researchers and students, can find useful. Some of them are:

Thanks guy. I used librarygenesis to get books before and geting journal articles has been a problem but I just used scihub through tor browser to access an Elsevier journal article (non open access!) now I am realy impressed.
But its like the clockwise site for books is having problem, its reporting error and its asking for help in fixing the server!

At gurus in this dark web, I have been able to access few sites on the dark web via my tor packages, but am not convinced and OK with what I have achieved therein so far. I wanna enter the real dark net where everything is made as open as possible. How do I access it via my tor packages cos I have Tor packages ( Orbot, Orfox browser, Duckduckgo, etc.) installed in my device. Pls, I need urgent response.

I don't understand what you mean by 'the real dark web', although there are even some unknown hidden places in the dark web with extra security layers for more serious crimes and objectives. You just simply need to update yourself with the most recent .onion links you need. For example Darkbook is one onion site that changes very frequently and could be frustrating/difficult to get back in at times.

Thanks for your reply, I strongly believe that dark net is still hidden from dark web which anyone with tor packages can access easily. With reference to darkbook you talked about, can you shed more light on it cos I wanna know more.

I used to use the deep web but come to think of it — you request a page...ip-A from India tells ip-B from Netherlands to tell ... to request the page for you.

Common, we have programmers here right? Write something to spy on all ips that requests a page (definitely... all those ips are relays {if you know what I mean} which will not be doing the same kind of thing at the moment). now a method called ... can be used to (...)

Well my humble advice is for you to configure i2p with the so called tor browser ...this may be an issue if your tor doesn't like the port :4444 (Reverse Engineer the app and doit! after all its open source)

Phew! well if you notice my activities on naira land you'll notice I've been alittlebit dormant... I've been training myself with stuffs I got from the deeper deep web don't ask me for any...you're only qualified to have stuff like that if you can get it!

Last bit of advise – be careful with the Google's Smart Phone...the Android when accessing the deep web. My opinion.
