I recently downloaded Tor browser to enable me access the dark/deep web, but to be honest i haven't found any use for it yet.
I know it prevents the government and other people from tracking you and you are totally anonymous on these part of the web but i really have nothing to hide, so if DSS or SSS wan track me, they are free to .

Out of curiosity: what other beneficial thing can you do in the dark web that does not involve buying weed, guns, chemicals and hiring assassins?

You need to be experienced to be even able to surf there .

What is the dark web?

The Dark Web is a collection of thousands of websites that use anonymity tools like Tor and I2P to hide their IP address. Why can't I access it?

Because in the dark web there are a lot of evil people out there. You need to be able to hide IP, disable your javascript , your webcam and several other stuffs.

Can I be tracked in the dark web?

Yes you can be tracked. You webcam can be controlled I'm short your device can be attacked by a backdoor exploit without you knowing.


So what's really out there?

From experience, when I was making research about the dark web I found out some interesting stuffs.

Buy drugs.
Watch has people are being killed while you pay for it via bitcoin
Buy guns.

Contact voodoo priest and priestess

@OP, tor has many uses. But darknet is the lasr place you want to be. Every evil you can think of can be found there.
You can use tor to bypass network restrictions. I once used it in the organisation where I was doing IT, because they blocked access to social media sites during working hours.
You can Google about the evils on darknets for more information. But you go there at your own risk. They say curiosity killed the cat. Did satisfaction bring him back? I don't think so.

There are a lot of uses of dark Web, research and lots more or so I've heard. However I don't think many Nigerians can find it useful. I recently carried out some research on the subject and there are lots of forums from those of political thoughts and interest to illegal child pornography, sales of arms & drugs, terrorist activities, black hats, etc. Mostly, market activities requires bitcoins. On a personal note I have faith in the dark net because there is really a great deal of intellectual freedom there, however there's also a great deal of vulnerability to hackers and scammers. So beware.

Think the answer to your question OP is 'Research'. I would recommend that a whatsapp group be created for ITians and researchers with interest in dark web. There we can share info that would be useful to users.
