I hope i have been able to answer your query.

I think you were spot on with your response... thanks.

jamson:

Apparently you need all the points you can get. Depending on your age, qualification and English proficiency scores, it's hard for me to determine your absolute potential scores. But from all indications, your 10 pointer English cannot fly ooo. You have to start working towards a 20 pointer which lots of people have secured on this thread via PTE. Let's have your points breakdown so we can advise further.

Yeah jamson, the 10 points obviously cant fly and I need maximum points from IELTS. I think I'd just proceed with the stage 1 EA assessment and hope to get maximum points from IELTS before EOI.

@ ALL

Please I'd appreciate anyone who's undergone this EA assessment interested in showing me some more love with sample CDR and CPD on mechanical engr. preferably. other samples from relevant engineering disciplines will also be appreciated... pls kindly forward to hamzuvich@gmail.com
Many thanks Fam.

I just heard they ve changed location, so I.might not be accurate. Anyway, its still the same closed fitted room, microphone and just that you are being watched from a glass in bellaz as against from a CCTV in Ukeas.
No much difference honestly... just ensure you test the microphone properly and be satisfied with the output before beginning, irrespective of how the admin will tell you otherwise.

I have a little issue and i want anyone that can help with a response.

My job title read SYSTEM ANALYST on my employment letter and promotion letters but my job role is that of a network Engineer with CCIE certification.

I got my head of unit to write the employment reference letter that i used for my assessment with ACS with the job tittle NETWORK ENGINEER and the result was positive.

Am waiting for ITA but my concern is at the time of lodgement of visa application. Since my employment and promotion letters has SYSTEM ANALYST, wouldn't that be an issue.

Am also trying to get one of the senior managers in admin to write another reference letter that i can use for the visa application in case they want to verify my employment reference letter but am so sure that the job title will be the one that is on my employment letter “SYSTEM ANALYST”.

I need answer

In my opinion, I dont think that should be an issue. Job naming conventions varies from company to company. Its the job description that really matters. For instance when I worked in the bank, my job title was also SYSTEM ANALYST even though my JD clearly showed that I was a programmer. One of the requirements for ACS assessment, according to the guidelines, is "Description of Duties Performed". Nowhere does it say Job Title is required.

Good day all,

i am extremely happy to be part of the forum, please i will be needing the kind assistance of this forum.

i have a degree in international relations from the university of Benin and also over 4 years experience as a systems analyst, can i go ahead and send in my documents for assessment by ACS (the assessing body for my nominated skill) and hope for a positive outcome? someone told me since my degree falls outside my area of work experience, i might not have a successful one. how true is this please?

i have certifications in CISCO (CCNA), ORACLE (OCP) and ITIL

thanks for your kind assistance

Unfortunately bro your BSc qualification would not scale through ACS assessment. And your certifications is not acceptable by ACS.

It's not likely that you will get positive assessment due to the following reasons;

1. Your degree is not computer related and definitely will be turn down.

2. Your certifications will not fly with ACS, not acceptable

3. Your experience of 4 years might not count because ACS most time will deduct 2 - 4 years before your experience begins to count.

Good morning house.
I would like to thank bellong and other OGAS for the great job. I have been following the trend and learnt a GREAT deal each day.

I am about to commence vetassess assessment. I have three degrees up to PhD level (all in economics). I intentionally don’t want to claim job experience pre PhD. I just want to claim 1 year and 6 months’ experience post Ph.D. Both my degrees and experience are relevant to the nominated occupation. I just need 20 points (qualification) from vetassess.

I would like to clarify the following issues:

1. On the qualification side, can I use my M.sc and Ph.D. degrees for the assessment? Or do I need to assess ALL the degrees? ** It’s taking longer time to send my B.Sc. transcript to vetassess but M.sc and Ph.D. are ready.

2. My degrees and experience are relevant to two occupations in different states: NT (Policy Analyst) and SA (Policy and Planning Manager). Now how do I maximise my opportunity here? Can I use positive qualification assessment result from vetassess of nominated occupation (say, Policy Analyst) for the other state nomination (say Policy and Planning Manager)? Or do I just choose one and hope for the best? My target actually is Policy and Planning Manager but the rate at which its availability changes is giving me concern.

Your highly valued comments and suggestions are welcome. Thank you all.

Good day all,

A very big thank you to everyone contributing to this thread - it's really educative.

Please I would like to clarify some facts about the Australian PR process, as I am interested in applying for subclass 189 this year.

I have a BSc in Computer Science (2012) and an MSc in the same field (2014). I have 24 months work experience till date (14 months before MSc and 10 months as at today), all as an IT analyst. Age: 30 points. My nominated occupation will be Systems Analyst.

Please what are my chances for getting a positive assessment from ACS? In addition, do I need to take an English language exam before submitting my credentials for assessment?

I am not sure I will receive any points for work experience from ACS so I intend to get 20 points from English language skills.

Thanks.

1. You dont need an English test for ACS assessment.

2. Since you have at least 2 years post BSc experience, I believe you will get a positive assessment from ACS.

3. Getting 20 points from English test is not an option for you. Its a must.

Yes you need CDR for assessment with EA. Based on popular opinion, you're better off with EA than TRA.

I will be very happy if anyone can help me out with these issues.

1. You will have to submit all the qualifications include your bachelors so you can get the maximum 20points from qualification. I can imagine how difficult it is getting transcript from some schools. It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than getting ordinary transcript. However, you have to try all you can to get it.

2. You can't use the assessment of one occupation for another even if they look similar. Your assessment must be from the Occupation you are applying for. You just need to read the ANZSCO descriptions of the two occupations well and go with the one that closely align with your duties. With VETASSES, you should be very meticulous and careful in writing your job descriptions. It must align with ANZSCO description for positive assessment.

Goodluck.
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by bellong: 2:02am On Jan 30, 2017
@Omambala,

There's nothing like claiming work experience with VETASSES except for the point test advice.

Your fee will be $810 for full assessment which is the standard.
