His Imperial Majesty is just saying the simple truth. Igbo people live peacefully in Benin. And many have for centuries. Many we grew up together especially the girls remain like sisters.

Dad was so interested in me marrying one of them then. A very pretty girl. Both dad & her mum had been calling each other in-laws since we were kids. I thought it was just a joke o. But she was a girl I considered baby sis then. I just could not cross that boundary.

Issues between Igbo & Benin people are very rare. Even issues with Agbor & Oboro people were typically rare.

An Igbo man was a famous Benin warrior nicknamed Ogogobiaga. We proudly acknowledge and praise those who contributed to our greatness, be they the sea-faring Izon, the dental surgeons (Ivbiosakon/Etsako), warriors/medicine men/royal sword casters from Edo Central/Igueben) and elsewhere. An empire is not built by few people only.

EVEn Olaudah EQUIANO, the Igbo boy who was stolen & sold into slavery wrote many interresting things in his book entitled: The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano, or Gustavus Vassa, the African, published in 1789. In it he identified himself as an ethnic Igbo and citizen of Benin Kingdom.

Biafra war partly undid centuries of peaceful co-existence. Mid-West was even initially neutral in the Biafra-Nigeria war. But things have greatly normalised & my mum remained fond of Igbo people's straight business-like attitude.

All relatives of mine who married Igbo people have all succeeded in life.

Igbo people trusted the wrong people, those who talk from both sides of their mouth.

Yeah but they sold it during the Coronation while the Oba was busy and urged the person to develop it quickly. I saw that any action I would take would only affect the buyer because they will pit me against him.

I am after the Enogie now. I've consistently tried to serve him but he hides inside the house when my lawyer comes. Last option will be to get a court order and paste on the pillars of his house. I want him to see the four walls of a cell if I have my way. So that his youthful exuberance pushing him to do nonsense will simmer down.

You bring hatred upon yourself with your envy and bigoted but failed attempt to denigrate others.
That you always displayed foolishness, bigotry, obsession with Benin matters is obvious from your use of fellow bigoted writers for manufacture history.

Is it not true that you guys speak from both corners of your mouth and your yes can never be considered yes after two seconds?

Even some of your fellow tribespeople lament about that very distasteful their people in real life. Regularly in fact. They are surprised by the reliability and stability of other people. I have experienced enough of he turncoat behavior to last me a life time.

That is why if a person from my places says he likes you, he does. If he says next time you mess up, you will regret your life, do not challenge him to the contrary. Just go your way quietly.

You propagate hate & you no carpet hate and you now turn round and complain about same. Interesting.

If you only come here to brag and shout as you do in real life, just know that I am not.

Let me tell you something: I almost got deceived by your people into hating Jonathan. You people were using control of media to demonize Jonathan & Niger Delta people. Until I got home & saw all the changes that was on ground.

Even with overwhelming facts, better economy, better electricity, booming agric (many young people took up modern farming with Jonathan's encouragement) new Fed universities, hundreds Almajiri schools and more, you lot continued your bigoted vitriol. You guess survive on bigotry, so do not complain. My eyes opened from there.

When you say Igbo in that, are you referring to the southeast Igbos or the Delta Igbos or both?
Are you referring to Igbos in the 5 SE states or just Delta or are you referring to both?

Igbo. Is there any difference?

Well, most Igbo I grew up with were from Anambra & Imo States that existed then.

But truth be told, growing up we considered what is now Delta Igbo (no Delta State then) as just Bendelites like anybody else.
In my early days abroad, SE Igbo people used to direct Anioma people with something like "your brother lives down the road, maybe he can help you". Amazing how things change within just a few decades. Especially with politicisation of ethnicity. grin

Much respect to the Benin monarch. One of the first heterogeneous empire this side of Africa. The Binis embraced several people and group during her peak as an empire. She values talents and industry. This is one reason behind her greatness.

Oba Ewuare is already showing the Greatness in him, which has made The Benin Throne And People uniquely respected. I think Nigeria will be blessed by his reign, just as it was blessed by his father's reign.

firs of all, your writing is hardly coherent.
2nd, you sound like you have a problem with a few yoruba people you have met. Lets face it, this is pure stereotype, this whole issue of yorubas being two mouthed was started by the Igbos after losing the Biafra war, I would hate to go on to a political debate and how the igbos were wrong to think such of yorubas (it is obvious you are worse here than you are bad at History). If i was to use the ill character of the few edo people i've met, one here in the city i live just did what you accuse yorubas of to me, thereby making me lose a lot of money because i trusted his vow of committment, an edo man married to a friend was a serial adulterer, and many more. But I know better than to Hate an entire ethnicity based on my experience with a few. You would have also seen ill characters from fellow edo people.

then lemme make a comment to your delusions about Yoruba obsession with Bini. Yoruba and Bini are connected by Kingship and a long history, therefore it is only normal to make mention of Bini when talking about yoruba kingship and history, and this is vice versa. You do not talk about Bini kingship without mentioning Ife(Yoruba), so blame your ancestors for having much dealings with the Yoruba.

So far, all groups are guilty of bigotry. i have seen many bigoted statements from all corners of the country against others, Bini has not been behind in this regard.

If you were convinced by Political agents to vote for one party or individual, why should you blame them? is it their fault that they play politics well? or you do not know what soliciting for votes is all about? and In fact, I do not see you hate on the North or your former governor Oshomole for massive campaigns against Jonathan, if Politics is really your problem. You are just hateful

Thank you Mr English. You try.

Anyway, English is one of many European languages I have used as daily language since teenage years. So do not believe your writing is that great. Still, I was able to be educated by & understudy some of the very best, who won some of the most acclaimed international Prizes.

Where did your "presumed coherent Queen's English" get you? A den of cultists, a pamphlet buying & lecturer sorting glorified secondary school? I'm quite sure you will not know where to put or omit "h" before a vowel in your spoken English. grin grin cheesy

So you now accept that your people are among the bigots from many corners of Nigeria. Good.

If you people are not obsessed with Benin, why does it give you nightmares? Why did your Alake wake up one day & begin to rank Oba of Benin among Yoruba Obas?

Mid-West left Western region in 1963 when we had enough to mind our business. So mind your bloody business.

I have no problem with Yoruba people because I have learnt not to rely on them. Simple. Even the seemingly decent ones. I need nothing from them either.

Oshiomhole or anybody can join any party they like, we are not people who follow one direction like a herd of cattle. We are not fuelled by bigotry. I do not trust any politician to begin with. They can support or oppose anybody to grab power & fill their pockets.

You can accuse me of anything you like. I do not give a poo. Your opinion is worth less that rat droppings in my opinion. I only write for the sake of silent discerning readers.

All I know is that politically, water will find its level one day. Nigeria will scatter and everybody will decide who to form a new country with.

I visited Yugoslavia barely a year before war broke out there. It was a beautiful place. Disintegration seemed impossible then.

We'd also support an independent Bini or should I say Edo kingdom which includes present Edo state and the non Anioma part of Delta state.
There's no space for any Edoid tribe in Biāfra... And as imperial Biāfra our border stops at abudu, anything West of abudu or obiarukwu would be left to the oba

Benin is a kingdom that has lasted century with its grandeur still intact. Africans should preserve their culture and possibly evolve a new advance civilization driven by their culture. We can take a clue from the Japanese. They are modern and soundly technical, but their culture is ingrained in their DNA. My take.
