But guy let me tell you the reality on ground, getting those certificates at this present Nigeria economy wil never solve your finacial problem and make you rich. It is so unfortunate that the Nigeria economy we meet today is not the same our parents met in 70s where only certificates can guarantee a good job but today things have changed. Bro for you to be wealthy and be free from finacially problems embrace entreprenuership and business so that you wil be self employed. Start up something today no matter how small it is with time and dedication it will grow. Business is like a seed, when planted it grows gradually until it start having trees with branches if only u waters it .

Please just go for ICAN, it would ensure you are relevant in many fields (banks, management, audit, etc), channelise all ur efforts on ICAN and forget the rest (CIBN,NIM,etc), during my time, we were told after completing ICAN you could get your B.sc accounting from oxford brooks after completing a project with them but I guess that is scrapped now (not sure), after ICAN then you can go for a masters in business admin afterwards, this would make you an all round management relevant individual in the labour market...thank me later

I already did sir, but with the cost and other reasons, I'm putting a higher degree on hold for now, so that makes it important for me to know the programs that I could run in 2 to 3 years. Thanks sir

For investment banking, CFA is best because it's global.
You can also opt for CIS which is the Nigerian version.

CFA-- Chartered Financial Analysts
CIS---- Chartered Institute of stockbrokers.
You can search Google and learn more about the two certifications.
But for accounting roles, ACCA and ICAN are good.

Sorry bros if i dnt have anything useful to add...i'm yet to gain admission ..but what i know is that you can always go for professional programmes-they give you edge over others in labour market.... Hope this helps?

Op, u can go for CFA, Chartered Financial Analysts (This is the best for IB Job but Very challenging n Requires Financial Muscle)

or CIS Chartered Institute of StockBrokers ( This one is "Nigerian" equivalent of CFA but far below CFA in terms of everything) !!!

also ICAN/ACCA/CIMA are good fit though they are accounting ProfQualilification but they also possessed good fit for Finance not IB job sha oo !!

If you have financial issues, don't go for CFA yet , you can opt for ICAN or CIS, I will advice CIS, because it can land you a Job in Nigerian Capital Market faster (Bingo!!) and u can perform some investment related jobs than ICAN which makes u perform Accounting related roles !!

Then as u grow, CFA is your best bet for IB job .... You have to get Financial Muscle sha ooo, n u must be ready to excel n excel n excel, that exam ain't for someone who no chop belleful upstairs n pocket wise!!!

You could also look at getting a Risk Management certification. Good for IB roles and Head Office roles in commercial banks.

Getting a certificate is a good thing, but knowledge is better. You should be more concerned about getting the required knowledge and if it comes with a certificate good but please change your aim from acquiring certificates to acquiring knowledge.
