It's no news that Nigeria is experiencing hard times and am sure anyone who comes across an opportunity to escape this 'suffering' wouldn't bat a eyelid. Well yesterday my hommies and I were having this discussion and it seems everyone is trying to flee from this hell hole called Nigeria but things preventing most from relocating happen to range from funds to fear of the unknown.Since nairaland is a forum filled with many bright and experienced minds I decided to create this thread to enable those with experience of living in or visiting any African country(ies) to share their experiences with us. Kindly give us information on the cost of living, ease of finding a job or venturing into a business, how accommodating the natives are, security, and any other info you believe will be useful. Am sure many will find your response useful so kindly drop ur replies. Thanks.

Justwise, Lalasticlala

Kenya or Rwanda perfect if you intend to venture into legal business
Re: Africa Travel by cutieme(m): 5:38am On May 07, 2017
Liberia is also another good place to go ,especially if you want to run business there as it's easy to set up one there.

Rwanda now has English as it's official language together with French, so most people whould converse ok in English.

Specify which dollars you're talking about. American or Liberian?
Re: Africa Travel by Afam4eva(m): 4:56pm On May 07, 2017
It's funny that i and a few friends also discussed the issue of leaving the country. The situation is pathetic at the moment. Though i have my sights on first world English speaking countries.

Yeah definitely this seems like a better option but considering the fact that visa application might be unsucessful for some (God forbid), and also as some of these countries can have one deported as we hear simply because one is a Nigerian, finding one's way to a neighbouring country seems like a viable option atm, at least from there one can hustle and easily(hopefully) find his way out thereafter.

The reason people get rejected is that they don't follow due diligence. They think they can just cheat their way without realising that those guys are smart and would spot a fraud in a heartbeat.

It's not a bad idea to start from our neigbouring countries but you first have to look at what they're lacking in those countries that you can provide. For instance i know guys that have made it big moving clothing from Aba into Liberia and Sierra leone. I also know a guy that has cashed out by opening a bar in Liberia.

You are very right bro capitalising on what they're lacking is sure a smart move but like i said one doesnt just go into another man's land and start a business without exploring. How soon and how easy can one find a job in Liberia?Information on cost and standard of living will also be appreciated.I sincerely appreciate ur input so far bro.Thank you.

if you really want to relocate to any of the 15 ecowas states, just have the following in mind:
*you need to go prepared with some cash to get accomodation.
*forget any thought of job hunting( there is also high rate of unemployment in all ecowas states)
*visit your choice country first and make a comprehensive business study of their most demanding comodities and services.
*make vivid enquiries on processing of becoming a resident investor as a foreigner (especially the francophone countries)
*don't depend 100% on infos the nigerians you meet there tell you (especially in ghana)
finally, once you are satisfied with the aswers to the above statements, go back with cash for rent, cash for paper works for both business & resident legalization, the little capital you can raise for you investment and pocket money to feed.

with determination, peseverance, focus, honesty, modesty and prayers you gonna succeed in no time. cos the naija 'never say die' spirit will help you pull through. Merci!

There is nothing hard or special about french language. You can learn it within weeks when you get there. Let me ask you a quewtion , so if you are given a french visa or german visa today , you wont go because of the language?

The truth is you will find many other ppl there with ur own similar issue and you will mix with them. After one day or 2 ,you would have adapted to the system. I have lived in a francophone country before and there is no problem. Once you understand the money and know whqt you want, you will definitely find a way of passing ur message across to them and understanding ur host too

Language should be the least of your worry while moving to Abidjan or most French countries. You will find yourself speaking basic French in few Weeks. There are more than 3 million Nigerians in Cote'divoire this is according to our ambassador Mrs. Ifeoma Akabogu when l met her last time l traveled to the country. With that said amount, you should be able to do a meaningful business in Abidjan. Great electricity, superb water, excellent night life and abundance food. Lot of beaches and serene environment with a friendly weather. You can pm me l can link you with a friend in Adjame
