Customer towed his car into the workshop with a complain that his car wasn't moving well. After proper examination, it was found out there was no single drop of engine oil and there was a knocking sound and car was overheating. Engine was badly affected. Stayed tuned and watch a replacement of a 3GR engine done @ multiautolab. Had to go source for an engine at the local market. Every one says its a 2GR engine but guess what its a 3GR engine. It was later discovered that in the process of removal of old engine. The cylinder block has been compromised by a 2GR cylinder block. Naughty boys won't stop going to kazeems . Pix loading shortly

Thread would be updated tomorrow, was too busy to attend to the job. Observations made about this car

1) space to work around engine bay was tight
2) engine is a 3.5L
3) engine has a high pressure fuel injectors which is different from the conventional type of fuel injectors. This means more torque to the engine. Where is that corolla man racing with a Gwagon. This what you need to compete with the beast

The 2nd gen IS 350 uses both 2GR-FSE (3.5L) & 3GR-FE (3.0L) V6 engines.

No dispute. The 2GRE-FSE comes in different variants. We have critically examined engine and a lot of compromise have been done. This 2GRE engine is very much different from that fitted on camry 2009 v6.

If you look at the old engine you can see someone took off the cylinder head and there is a black gap between the head-engine, head-valve covers which might be that thing you all call gum. Compare gasket on left head-right of the engine.
