A very popular complex belonging to politician and business mogul, Chief Osamede Adun, popularly called Bob Izua, along Mission Road in Benin City has been demolished by the Edo state government on orders of governor Godwin Obaseki.

While some have applauded the development and called on the government to extend it to all as no one should be spared, others allege that due notice was not served before the demolition, as they sense some form of victimization.

OBASEKI still dey trek where Rochas dey when it comes to demolition. After El rufai(when he was the FCT minister), na Rochas dey come second. These men can demolish even graveyards.

When I see this type of destruction. I think of the many youths around us who cannot start up a business because he does not have enough capital. This is too much. Just think of the cost of this thing.

As long as Obaseki satisfy his conscience it does not matter how people feel. The overall interest of the state matter most,beside who says, the owner of this demolished properties won't be settled by Govt provided they have authentic documents.

But the shopping complex is too near the road now. How will vehicles be passing if it had become operational because I cannot see parking space for shoppers? Even one can see from the second to the last picture that it was already obstructing traffic while under construction.

What were the town planning officials thinking when they granted the approval? If they didn't give approval, they should have acted earlier to minimize the loss.

as far as urban/city codes are concerned, i can see so many things wrong with the siting of that building!
