Now, I think I should just give up on this recovery ish! I just discovered that not only did my files just disappear but the ROM was downgraded to v8.2.2.0 from V8.2.4.0! What kinda nonsense be that!!!

Last week I decided to upgrade to v8.2.5.0, my download of the ROM was 99% when I noticed the connection was off. I restarted the connection and it continued. I successfully downloaded the file and decided to install at a later date, unfortunately, by the time I woke up, the already confirmed 14??MB file was nowhere to be found. I should've known!!

Just learnt my lesson the hard way. Chai! BlackBerry,
I salute you o. Android, you na no do me good for this one by using this stupid MTP connection protocol o. Na God go judge the person wey make it impossible to recover files on Android.

Only God can judge.... angry cry

That's why I always unlock my bootloader and flash custom recovery so that even if I have issues I can still access my files.

Just download the latest rom, copy it to the internal memory of your phone in a folder named 'downloaded_rom' (you can create the folder yourself), then open the updater app(normally located in tools), click the 3 dots on the top right of your screen, then choose updater package, scroll to the folder 'downloaded_rom' and select the file. Your phone will immediately flash the rom, takes about 15 mins or so.
You can download the rom from here, download the global stable rom (1.5gig), http://en.miui.com/download-321.html
bro i'm unable to install the official global rom through this procedure....am i missing something?i dont think so i followed this step by step....i couldn't access the file inside 'downloaded_rom' through the updater

It depends wat am doing dou. Downloading movies or apps from play store can be up to around 4mb during the day, it's higher late in d night. Bt just surfing the net, it's always low, like it's rationalizing based on my need bt blazing fast in all things except trying to Google something, damn, i have to change to bing or Yahoo sometimes, it's damn slow with Google search with initial search, it goes back to normal after that bt i have a workaround anyway

Visit aliexpress.com or download the app, just search for the phone directly with the name. You will actually be doing ursef alot of good if you get the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 global version with snapdragon.
For the above version there is a 3/32gb and 4/64gb option.
Take note of Xiaomi Online store, Dreami Store and SmartGo store. The listed sellers are the most used as far as I know.
Multiply whatever you see in $ by 370 atleast, take note of the different packages and shipping fee.

Like Oga noobody said it should come in next week. Since Monday is a public holiday, I am guessing it might be processed same day though.

UPDATE
I tried downloading the ROM as advised by gptech and few secs later it was completed!!! I checked my "download_rom and I saw a completed file! So, I believed the earlier downloaded file(which was nowhere to be found even before the disappearance of the rest) just got completed! When I tried updating, I got the sc2.

Will download afresh later today to know what next.
