dat vacancy is 4 a technical supo. to manage a fleet of tanker, not a sailing engineer as d oda person is pointing out. To contribute i hv attached xom template. note engineer cadet program (3yrs) means diploma + 12months cadetship (I.T)

if you follow through the post, you will understand my points and I ll repeat that. I never said you need a degree to sail. I said a degree is an added advantage. On a ship there are the deck officers, engine officers and stewards. Each with its own requirement. I know the advert is a technical sup- but requirement says you would have SAILED as a chief engineer. I have attached it for you to read through again. Point is as you progress in your career, educational qualifications are important.

The screening and selection process for the next stage is quite twisted but however straightforward. Let me also mention that applicants evaluation is still ongoing.

1. For applicants who completed their stage 1 by/after June 7, your application is currently being reviewed so do not think the number of days you have waited without any feedback is a sign of progress.

2. For applicants who have completed their stage 1 between 5th and 7th June you will likely get feedback anytime soon.

3. For applicants who have completed their stage 1 before 5th June there is a 95% possibility that your application has been reviewed but awaiting benchmarking.

What is benchmarking?
After the review of stage 1, all candidates who satisfy the minimum requirement will be shortlisted. If 10 applicants are needed to progress to the next stage for a particular department and 25 applicants satisfy the minimum requirement after evaluation, their profiles will be benchmarked against each other in terms of degree relevance, work experience, class of degree, institution attended, and highest level of degree attained. After this, the top 10 applicants go through to the next stage.

So do not presume or assume anything yet. You can only be hopeful.

A 3rd engineer (entry level for engineering cadre) on a supply boat in a service company earns more than that.
Don't forget the requirement to be a 3rd engineer is either a National diploma with 12months cadetship or WASSCE with 36months sea term. Degree doesn't count, just get your CoC and you are good to go!



SHELLs pay is among the least within the IOC bracket.

Oga, we are not fault-finders rather we are "smart people." we don't absorb any comments we see just to draw attention. We just identified an error which the user needs to convince us of such. If you think we lied, @galaseller should screenshot the progress mail he got from shell. Besides, this is a digital world. We're/I'm not doubting his competence but he should atleast convince us with a screenshot.

Moving on.... After 14 days....

I still maintain my ground that the love letter one got, is an auto mail(computer robot). I believe the real "Regret Mail" should contain the clause "... regret to inform you..." Noticed, shell updated that if one does not meet the requirement, such person would be "REGRETTED." The keyword contained in shell regret mail should be "regret."

What is yours saying on the application status?

Please can someone help? I just finished my on-demand interview but the upload took a while and eventually got disconnected. I kept trying but it says I don't have enough space on my phone and I should create 820MB or use a laptop. like 30 mins after I received a mail from Shell saying I have completed STAGE 1 and they sent me a link to my assessment result. Please does this mean the video eventually uploaded? If not do I have to redo the interview? Thank you.

It sounds funny, right? But that's faith in action. Hope u watched the on-demand video & carefully listened to "Deane" during her summary on the hirvue app? That in a later time, their graduate recruitment team will review ur application. She meant humans & not robots. When robots? Just like the report u got a day or two after ur working style assessment. But, below ur report u will see a clause like " we at shell hope ..." Does it mean that shell human recruiters sent u that report immediately? That's robot evaluation & not human's.
