Non muslim women prayers are being heard even those that dont pray to any god.

and hijab does not safeguard against fitna or reduce men from chasing women, there are men and perverts men that find hijab sisters attractive and fantasize about them.

E.g the comments in this thread >> https://www.nairaland.com/3876927/media-personalities-wearing-hijab-ramadhan

Of course there are perverts who will even fantasize on what doesn't exist and is impossible.

But with the hijab, at least chaste men and non perverts will find their chastity easier to protect.

Also, pervertion doesn't start in a day, i5
t is in stages. If the perverts were not exposed to the evils that corrupted them it's more likely that they will have a more unperverted nature.
An evidence for this is that perverts are more in societies where illicit dressing and intercourse and pornography are predominant.

^^ They don't wear the hijab in India, they wear well adorned scarfs.

Also, the laws of Islam are complementary.

Islam did not just say wear hijab and that's all.
Hijab is one of many measures Islam has put in place to control illicit thoughts and acts.

Others include: avoiding free mixing between opposite sex, not delaying Marriage and avoiding everything that can delay marriage such as prohibitive dowry (which is the case in India), taqwa of Allah and fear of His fire, hope for His mercy and Paradise etc.

Just covering up and not doing the others is a vain effort just as claiming to practice chastity without wearing the proper hijab is nothing but deceiving one's self.

I said men and perverts, i did not only said "perverts", there are non perverts that find hijab women attractive. There is no protection anywhere, women on hijab are prone to be sexually harassed, there is no magic in it.

Egypt for example, it was reported that hijab women even on burqa face sexual harassment. >> http://hijabman.com/journal/sexual-harassment-egypt-hijab/

In saudi arabia women are being raped and funniest and saddest thing is the victim(the woman) will face harsher punishment.

Yes perverts are more in society where pornography, half-nakèd dressing are predominant, but what happens when a man has the urge to marry four wives, has harems? what gives that urge or they marry these women to cook beans for them? and funny thing is that these old alhajis wont go for their age level female, na young young virgin girls they will be marrying up and down. Hypocrites thinks this is the best morality.

India comes to mind....

“We found that there was a contradiction between words and deeds. Participants believed that figures 2 and 4 [see report linked above for table] would get harassed more than others because these figures were not wearing the veil and were wearing short clothes, but the results proved that this is mistaken as the majority of women we interviewed were dressed like the figures 1,3,4 and 5 [all in hijab] but still experienced sexual harassment. These results illustrate the contradiction between society’s belief that appearance of the woman is a key factor leading to sexual harassment. This confirms that the stereotypical ideas of a patriarchal culture that blames women even if they are victims is opposite to reality.”

In recent years, an increasing number of women in Saudi Arabia have used social media as a resource to document and confront the ongoing problem of harassment. As Noura bint Afeich wrote in Al-Monitor last year, “Posting photos and videos documenting certain events has shed light on sensitive topics that the kingdom wishes to avoid dealing with.”

Women are harassed at workplaces, in malls and on city streets. Yet in Saudi Arabia’s conservative society, instances of physical harassment are rarely reported to authorities, for fear it will bring shame or embarrassment. In a national survey conducted in 2014 by the Riyadh-based King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue, 80 percent of participants attributed sexual harassment in Saudi Arabia to women’s “deliberate flirtatious behavior.”

Amid this climate of shame and underreporting, the data reveal a pressing problem. Six sexual harassment cases are reported every day, as statistics published by the country’s Ministry of Justice have shown. In 2013 and 2014, a total of 3,982 harassment cases made it to Saudi courts, with the largest share of offenses taking place in the Saudi capital of Riyadh.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/08/07/sexual-harassment-saudi-arabia_n_7934850.html

^^There are videos for evidence, even tho there are bias in their reports.

Tintingz,

Those men are transgressors. Women who covered as instructed already lived up to requirement (s). But a man violating her rights is out of line and should be dealt with.

Yes, myself found hijabis attractive but not to the point of rape or violating her. This is contrary to women already exposed herself. She's is OBVIOUSLY inviting men to look.

However, let's take Western world for instance. Most of those women may not know it is bad idea bcus that's their way of life until Islam reaches them. But in many cases they know it is wrong to expose themselves like that.

Recently a lady was disbanded from tending a park in the US for wearing "too sexy" outfit but she sees nothing wrong with what she wears. Also due to sexual harassment in nyc area, a police officer advised women to wear proper clothing especially in summer. This suggests that they know it is wrong to walk around half naked. But men's ego and slots would not allow them to say the facts.

Sir your post here is bias, so when these arabs folks sexually harass a lady they are transgressors but when it is done where women dress half-nak3d, the blame is on the woman? Can't you see some men sexual aggression is not really about the dressing but something evolutionary, brain mechanism? Why do you find hijab ladies attractive, do they need to dress half-naked before they are attracted to you?

So a lady dressed half-naked is inviting men to look, did she invite them to touch her aggressively? the primate people, our ancestors walk nak3d/half-nak3d even till date in some culture, and they see nothing wrong with it.

However, let's take Western world for instance. Most of those women may not know it is bad idea bcus that's their way of life until Islam reaches them. But in many cases they know it is wrong to expose themselves like that.
You cant use Islam way of life to judge other society, it is irrational. There are cultures where people can walk half-naked, the more reason there is no law concerning dressing code in many countries except in religious countries, sharia states.

I am very sure it is the religious people that threatens the officials to disband the lady, just like a scene that happened in Lagos, a lady wore mini skirt and some pervert touts were harassing her in broad daylight where people are, it was some other men that came to her rescue that day, the same thing also happened in saudi arabia(watch the video in the link above) where some men were harassing a lady on full hijab. Now tell me the difference in these two scenario.

Sexual harassment will always occur everywhere, this is beyond dressing matter not blaming the female folks, it is something evolutionary and other factors, this also happens among animals.

First all, i didnt say this. I was simply silent and left it up to readers. Fact remains such women invite men, even non-pervert ones. Yes, if a man rapes half naked women he transgresses as well. But this thread is not about that. Possibility exists that 80% of the time men would snub well dressed women and not having second thought about her in a negative manner. But naked women stand the chance of being verbally and physically harassed 99% of the time. In the US for instance, if an half naked woman walks through guys, they always make comments about her body, make catcalling and all that.

NYPD To Women Of Brooklyn’s Park Slope: Don’t Wear Shorts Or Dresses

The Wall Street Journal reports that, following ten unsolved sexual assaults in the area since March, officers in the area have started stopping women on the street to chat about their wardrobe choices.

A woman, only identified as Lauren, told the Journal that an officer, “pointed at my outfit and said, ‘Don’t you think your shorts are a little short?’”

Two other women, wearing dresses, were stopped with Lauren and were reportedly told that they were showing a lot of skin, according to the WSJ. The officer explained to the trio that such clothing could make the suspect think he had “‘easy access.’” He supposedly closed this gem of a conversation by saying, “You’re exactly the kind of girl this guy is targeting.” Ouch.
