Road rules are followed and enforced fully here. Not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign is/can be an automatic fail.

Do you mean one has to stop at 'every' single stop sign positioned along the road? I don't mean traffic lights or Zebra crossings o.

I'm currently facing a similar quandary. Have spent 9 years here in a Nigerian bank but I feel like I've only been wasting my time. I'm strongly tempted to fall back on my first degree (B.Sc Applied Microbiology) and pursue any of the 2yr After-Degree B.S.Nursing programs in Alberta or Toronto.

Did you consider age being a factor in your job prospects after going back to run another school program? Should I be bothered about that?
I am not sure about toronto, but if you go back some few pages. Some after degree nursing programs in ontaeio were mentioned. In Alberta..i know uni of lethbridge offers an after degree BSN.

They are! Used them before!

Try searching on Skyscanner too! Noticed they find better rates too!

I'm just curious. What is it exactly, that makes people fail driving tests? The roads seem wide and free. Pardon my naïveté.
The pics below would give you an idea why people fail. Its more difficult if you drive in a country were road rules are hardly obeyed, since bad driving quickly becomes an habit. Brush up lessons are very helpful.

I would have posted a link to the forum i got that from but i spambot might ban me.

cont. The road test disqualifications in the last pics are automatic fails. I am not sure if it still 75 points to fail as that list was from 9 years ago...still looks similar to what they currently use. Goodluck to all taking the road test in the future.

hahaha yes. This is why people fail. And if you don't stop and end up hitting someone, you're going to jail. Also, some city's have cameras which catch you when you're speeding. You'll get a speeding ticket in the mail a few weeks later.

A WISE COUNCIL IS SO NEEDED, PLEASE GUYS

I really won't want to bore you guys with my sympathetic story, so I will want to go very straight to the point.

having lost my foster family that has been taking care of my education right from secondary school level to my 1st year now in the university as a part time student in nnamdi azikiwe university, furthering the study now becomes very hard. So my own biological family with some of the extended family (umunna) came to a logical conclusion of gathering funds and sending me out of the country, to a place where I can work and study. So after everything I was told to go and make my research, contact some friends probably outside and get back to them for stipulated bills like INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT, VISA FUND and FLIGHT TICKET FUND with some POCKET money to go with, long before now Canada has been my dream country, considering the fact that its a place one can work and study also, but the big issue is that I know nobody over there, "or will I say here because you all are in Canada already just that am typing from Nigeria lolz". So the big questions are, WHAT AM I GOING TO DO??
EVEN IF AM TO GO THROUGH STUDY PERMIT , DO THEY HAVE THE FUND TO PRESENT AS SPONSOR? NO THEY DON'T , they only have what I mentioned above.
someone said it can only work through invitation since they don't have the money for sponsorship, that the inviter will present his own SOA that has at least 11,000CAD up, but then what do I know?? even if its true, who do I know?? I will be so willing to WORK MY HEAD DOWN to reward any advice or action that will make this DREAM come to reality, reason been that I have lost an opportunity like this before and here it is again, HOW MANY TIMES will I keep losing it, and how many times will such opportunity keep surfacing for an average Nigerian boy like me??

Please brothers and sisters don't BASH, SCOLD or EAT me, a brother is in dare need of help.
before you redirect me , please try to help me
I will be 22years by July, I really need this now.

Austins4, Salford , Bellarz and every other person, please talk about this
anticipating your awesome reply/ council.

Thanks Salford.

These are all too valuable tips. Now I am a bit worried. I passed my driving test in the US. Canada seems to be more stringent though.

Pls could you share the link to the post in my email (crystalmark007@yahoo.com) I would like to do further reading there and any other valuable resource I might get before attempting my test. I have sent my passport for my PR so I should be in Canada before year end and I intend to get my license ASAP.

Thank You very much.

If you have a US drivers license...it would be transferrable without you appearing for a road test....

The test are also not that hard if one takes brush up lessons and can quickly get rid of bad driving habits.

Check your email.

What's bringing you to canada if you're settled in the U.S.? Anyway if you have your full license in the U.S. with no outstanding tickets or driving violations, your license should be transferable here. It's all the same thing here.

For tips on airlines, you could search in this thread https://www.nairaland.com/3436650/give-birth-usa-cost-procedures/269 ;it gives a first hand experience of airlines to USA. From what I recall, Air Maroc was a last option choice and even then reviews were poor. Hope this helps.

Re: Passport Renewal

You'll have to take a trip from Winnipeg to the Nigeria High Commission in Ottawa to have your passport renewed. Good thing though, they have revamped their operations considerably over there so you can get your passport renewed in a few hours (usually around 2 hours)

Questions regarding study permits will be best dealt with in the Canada study visa thread. Cheers

It's not so bad. It is a budget airline so don't expect the kind of comfort Emirates would give. They charge plenty money for excess luggage, there is no in flight entertainment and their food is just there, nothing special. However, it is a short flight to Canada and UK, it is rather cheap when you compare it with others and did i mention the short flight duration?

To all who have contributed, I am filled with so much gratitude for expirence you have selflessly poured out, God bless you all.
To call you Gurus, is an understatement, you are more that Gurus. Thank you once again.

I notice two thing by ready from the first page to the last that:
1. Not so much has been said about Winnipeg Manitoba as compared to other province. Could anyone please open up the needful as regards this province?

2. What is the prospect for an Agribusiness Consultant with about 14 years work experience, with a first Degree in Botany, Post Graduate In Crop Protection and MBA In Agribusiness (all degrees obtained in Nigeria)? Taking into perspective that Certification and work experience in Canada are prioritised over and above degrees not obtained in Canada?

3. Where would be the best province to settle as per job/business opportunities with someone in the Agricultural Sector?

Hi guys. Have been hearing lots of advice about staying away from the big cities like Toronto and Vancouver because they're expensive to live in, but I'm thinking that the big fish are found in the ocean, not lakes and streams.. I'd like to hear from someone who immigrated for work and landed straight in any of the big cities. What was the transition like? Is it better to move to a small surburb first?

The transition is usually hell and it sets people back years before they realize their mistake and leave. People are giving first hand advice and you're here talking about big fish. That's not how it works here. If you can stay away from those 2 cities you mentioned.
