Most Uites in the last 10 to 12 years will know this guy K bello. He's very stubborn, fearless, outspoken, articulated and brilliant.....Always having issues with authority cos of his fearlessly opinionated atittide and spirit of activism. I like him though, we need more people like him with gut in this country. Ui tried a lot to victimise him back then. I won't be surprised that he must have been victimized for fighting his perceived right.

He will surely go places....Cos Nigeria don't like people who Stand up for themselves. They prefer zombie students. And that's why many of those Zombie students are suffering after years of graduation cos they are clueless with no power or wherewithal

Hmmmmm am not surprise.

Kayode Bello had always been an activist from his days in UI. I was in 100L when he had issue with the school VC and management. He doesn't take shit.

Sincerely speaking, we can't continue to sit on the fence and watch things go wrong as a Nigerian youth. We need to let our voices be heard, and this what this dude is showing.

Nigerian law school should be penalize for this by the senate. No freedom of speech, nothing! Doom Nation undecided

Yes now. I read an article about his suspension from UI some time back. For somebody with such history you'd expect him to avoid unnecessary attention to himself. This is Nigeria. He didn't play his cards well. I'm sure those he fought for in UI are done with their service and the ones in law school he just finished "fighting for " will be graduating next month while he ends up causing his family pain and regret. He's not smart at all. Our parents sent/ send us to better our future not to be some kind of Martin Luther King.
It may seem cowardice but I can't be caught fighting for a cause that will backfire at me while the people I fight for go about with a clean sheet. Na skool my Mama send me go. I can not coman give her headache.

All our forebears who fought against enslavement and for equal rights must love you.

A University of Ibadan alumnus, Mr. Kayode Bello popularly called ‘Kay Bello’ has been expelled from the Nigerian Law School.
Until the time of his expulsion, Kayode Bello has been a student of the Nigerian Law School, Abuja campus.

The University of Ibadan graduate, who recently concluded the compulsory court attachment programme of the Nigerian Law School has been shown the way out of the Bar programme after a series of face off and encounter between him and the management of the institution The Page Reports.

It should be noted that the final Bar examination for this year comes up on August 15, 2017.

According to one of his colleagues, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, trouble had started for Kay Bello in Law School when he wrote a petition against the management of the Nigeria Law School over what he alleged as poor social welfare conditions.

It was stated that Kay Bello printed fliers and sort to mobilise his colleagues at the Abuja campus of Law school to stand against the management and demand for a better living condition in terms of conducive classrooms and hostel facilities to justify the expensive fees they had paid for the school.

However, It was gathered that after Kay Bello wrote the petition and submitted, the leadership of the Students’ Representatives Council of the Nigerian Law School in a letter to the management disowned him, stating that he was acting solely on his “own volition” and not representing the students’ interest.
We later learnt that he was queried and told to withdraw his petition but Kay Bello refused.

After the conclusion of the court attachment programme, THE PAGE was informed that there was a summary trial but he failed to show up.

In a Phone Call with Online Newspaper THEPAGE, Kay Bello confirmed the expulsion from the Nigerian Law School programme and added that he is currently working on getting a bigger platform to protest his expulsion.

According to him, “It is in connection with the petition. They want me to beg but you know that I will never beg.”

Meanwhile, the management has published a poster containing his expulsion information and pasted around the law school campus.
Another colleague speaking revealed that when Kay Bello was expelled, he refused to leave and was still using the school’s library when security officials had to bundled him out of the institution.

Recall that he was earlier rusticated from the University of Ibadan on April 13, 2010 following his involvement in a protest over hike in school fees in 2008.

He wasnt even happy he was posted to Abuja... What about others posted to other campuses what do u want them to do.
Don't know why some students will always want to show there bad character of student unionism, as if they are the only ones politically inclined....
It is this docile attitude amongst majority of the citizenry of this country that has kept us like this

Fight for your right, but not in a stupid way.

He even ignored the opportunity for fair hearing undecided

In a court of law, only a lawyer is recognized to file petition. In a school, the authority recognizes the student union. So why not Chanel your ''aluta'' through them?

Stupid.

When fighting wars, u need to select ur battles carefully in order not to be annihilated. I see this as pure foolishness. Now that he's been rusticated, all his colleagues would be his senior at the bar. Y don't u finish law school first, then right millions of petitions against them..

You are part of the reason why this country is still in its present miserable situation . A courageous mind is trying to correct a dysfunctional system and here you are condemning the individual for reasons best known to you. It's so pathetic of you.

lawyer:
He is a silly guy. Every student that has passed through the law school knows how strict and difficult the school is in adhering to the principle of being " Fit and Proper" doctrine. Student have been expelled for doing less. All he had to do was wait till he wrote his exams, pass the bar exam, become a Legal practitioner and protest against the welfare conditions of the school as a LAWYER and not Law school student. As a Lawyer he could channel his protest through the Bar association as a lawyer, go to the Judicial council as a Lawyer and recruit more Lawyers to help him out and succeed in his cause. How was he supposed to win a challenge against Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Law professors of over 30 years and the Nigerian Law School as a whole when he is just a Law school Undergrad.

Sometimes all these so called Campus Activists don't know their boundaries. they think the same way they do Aluta in school to cause mayhem and school closure is the same way they can cause Mayhem in professional institutions that issue professional degrees. His expulsion would never be revoked and he has just wasted his parents school fees for nothing.

Onisokuso, will he have a locus standing as a lawyer.

What a wasted ambition.

He should have petitioned the NASS for not passing a vote of no confidence on buhari for his failure to return to the country.

A rebel in law school will surely end up an outcast.

Does he think law school is same as the university?

You don't bite the finger that feeds you.

Mumu...........the summary is that, his voyage to becoming a barrister has just hit the rock.

To all those cheering him up, I am so sure you won't dare behave like him.
