I have witnessed a location where a RESIDENTIAL BUILDING was converted to a FILLING STATION.

Located in a built up residential area with poor traffic movement for trailers or normal passenger vehicles.

Accident waiting to happen.

Lives waiting to be lost

Dem full for Ibadan, in the Agugu, Oremeji axis.

A church in a filling station? Imagine what's gonna happen the day they 'll shout a very loud "holy ghost fire!"

When Fayose was fighting filling stations owners in Ekiti some nincompoops were screaming dictatorship and tyranny. Fayose is one of the leaders that have foresight in Nigeria and will always remain that. In a sane clime, prevention is better than cure but the reverse is the case here in my country. What an irony! what a country this is!
Do you even know the real reason Fayose was fighting them? Was it related to what the OP is saying?

It is obvious you can't miss an opportunity to praise Fayose.

It is the responsibility of the government to force people to do the right thing when they are unwilling to do so.

Go to the USA, filling stations are littered with fast food restaurant. In some states, some even sell alcohol, so I see nothing wrong with it.

You're more concerned about the mentioning of your church by @op than the potential destruction of lives he was calling the attention to?

You people pastor worshippers have extremely low or no QI at all. Was this an attack on Christ Embassy?

What hell of a supposed religion centre will even endanger the lives of it members? You hate the truth because you have been brain washed into believing "touch not my anointed" means the pastor can't do no wrong.

True BUT the US also has a robust fire fighting response mechanism.

I drive at breakneck speed in the US but I'm the gentlest driver on the road in Nigeria, for this same reason.

Risk aversion things grin

That's not a bad idea

You fill you car and your belly at the same time.

A lot of the filling stations did not stick to the design approved by the DPR. Neither did they conform with the approval by MPPUD of Lagos State.

Usually, such stations are petitioned by people writing to DPR, they visit the station and are supposed to seal it. The station remains sealed until it is reverted to the initial plan as approved by the Department. However, the Department needs more staff to daily monitor and inspect these facilities. By their regulations, no modification, upgrade or add-on can be carried out in any petrol station without their Review, Risk Assessment and their approval.

However, this is Nigeria. We know things that go on underneath the eyes and noses of people. The problems vary a lot.

Secondly, imagine Nigerians that are supposed to be literate patronizing such even centers? Why would I pay to use such an event center? Such facilities are considered Major to Medium Hazard Class Facilities depending on the volume of products stored. There should even be setbacks from their premises by adjoining buildings. By design we want only a minimum number of persons exposed to the risks in these facilities. Customers are supposed to drive in, quickly but safely do their business and drive out. Even the attendants work on a shift basis to reduce their daily exposures to dust, VOCs, and other fugitive gases.

So why would Nigerians still want to patronize and hold events there in their tens and hundreds? Beats me.

My brother, they don't care about lives. And sadly, many of the people too don't care. Let a tanker fall and you will see people hurrying there to scoop petrol, in spite of the danger and the stories of how these occurrences always ended in an explosion.

Typical description of Fortoil at Maruwa road, Satellite Town, Lagos. There's even a deport located in that same area and tankers always queue up on the tiny road.

THAT WAS WHAT FAYOSE WANTS TO GUIDE AGAINST IN EKITI, WHEN THOSE IGNORANTS GANG AGAINST HIM, WHY SIGHTING MOSQUES, CHURCH AND EVENTS CENTRES WHERE DISASTER OR INFERNO CAN HAPPEN WITHOUT NOTICE? Then they will be blaming God, that is Gods doing! ehn? God gave us common sense to reason!

What is the difference between you and a jhadist terrorist? Of what use are you as a Christian if you can't take simple criticism that is even meant for the security of lives and properties in your church; something your pastopreneur obviously overlooked because he doesn't care about you lots..
