Now that the ban on post ume has been lifted, does this mean, if someone pass waec and jamb and doesn't pass post ume ,no admission for that candidate.
Or what if someone passes jamb and has some defect in waec but passes post ume does it imply that such a person can get admitted.
Good day Sir/Ma.

I wrote UI's PostUTME in 2015 and I'd narrate clearly how it's done.

After the widely conducted UTME,Names and details of aspirants who score 200 and above will be forwarded to the Institution(UI to be precise). Then, the portal for PostUTME registration will be enabled by UI on its admission page.

Those whose UTME percentage stands at 200 and above will log-in to the admission portal with their UTME registration number as USERNAME and their surname as PASSWORD.Note that aspirants with 199 or lesser in UTME will be unable to log-in for registration.

After the registration, A day or more will be scheduled for the PostUTME test. The PostUTME test consists of 25 questions from your 4 UTME subject combinations which sums up to 100.Subsequently,Aspirants' result will be uploaded on their private portal four or more days after the day of examination.

Like I insinuated earlier, the PostUTME will be graded all over 100.Whoever scores 49 or below will never be considered for admission in UI no matter your distinctions armoured O'level and mouth-watering UTME score.

A Cut off mark will be pegged for every courses depending on the number of applicants to the course,pass-ratio and Admission Quota.Applicants' names who score up to their respective cut off points shall be pasted on the MERIT admission list.Any defects in the O'level results of merit admitted students will make UI have no option than to switch courses for them. They will be automatically offered courses that correlate their O'level. And If their O'level grades can't fetch any other discipline.THEY FORFEIT ADMISSION

To Compensate applicants who score above 50 but couldn't score up to their cut off mark.A CHANGE OF COURSE form shall be announced FREELY.Applicants will apply for lower courses, who must have advertised for vacancies..The twist to this COC is that only CANDIDATES WITH HIGHER SCORE SHALL BE ADMITTED.

I hope I have helped in my own little way.If you need further clarifications,do well to mention me.

LOL.

You just made me have a good laugh.

The Proposed AUGUST 22 meeting, who presides over it?..The Federal Government ofcourse!..And the FG has no other representative than the Education Minister. The PostUTME ban last year was an ORDER by this same minister of Education.VC's of all Public Universities in Nigeria kicked against it.But unfortunately, they have very limited powers to overturn the Federal Government proclamation.

Now,this same Federal Government spokesman,Mallam Adamu Adamu said these emphatically to newsmen.

"Universities could now organise post-UTME as a pre-condition to gaining admission into universities in the country."

"We are going to allow universities to organise post-UTME if they want."

"Federal Government had stopped the scrapping of the examination to fully understand what was going on in universities, “We are now wiser.”

Boss.

I'm very much aware that the said minister will preside August 22 meeting as the govt representative, just that my fears is that our govt and its policies are not consistent .
The said minister of education might even change his mind before the next policy meeting there by, denying ever making such statement in the first place.

Besides, how are we sure that the minister even said anything concerning post ume yesterday?

Good pm to you reading this.

UI has always been the dream university ever since I was a boy, but for some reasons I don't want to explain here I chose a different uni when registering for jamb.

Long story short, jamb score happened to be 292, olevel result:
Eng- b3
Bio-b3
Phy-b3
Maths-c4
Chem-c5.

Course:comp science

So I saw online, a couple of minutes back, that FG has just lifted the Post-utme ban. I personally feel this is good news as this puts all candidates on a level playing field(I guess).

Now I want to know if it would make sense to risk doing a change of institution and fight for that dream or live with the fact that not all dreams could be lived.

May God/Allah (whatever you believe in) bless you as you drop your advice.

Sir.

I think changing your institution will be the best bet for you now.You mentioned it that UI has been a childhood dream for you.Psychologically, that will be a plus to your academical pursuit in the school too.

292 in UTME isn't an easy score to achieve.I think UI's PostUTME will be a walk in the park for you.

Naturally, am a doubting Thomas so don't blame me. The post on The Guardian looks fishy tho. For one thing it was posted 1:30am last night an also it states that ''in a exclusive interview with the minister of education'' if i saw clearly. I think if the govt. wants to make a major descion like that, it won't be in an exclusive interview held around 1:00am tho it might have been held earlier.

Dude...Mehn,You almost killed me with laughter with this your humorous analysis. grin grin grin

Okay,Let me make some clarifications.

1)The news was not only reported on Guardian,It was reported across all media outlets.

2)The News Story must have been compiled yesterday. But Newspaper are meant to tell yesterday's news today..So,that was the reason why the news was posted around 1:00am.The Interview happened around yesterday's afternoon.

3)Minister of Education is the authoritative force and icon in the educational sector as at today.Anything he says during an interview is veracious and accurate.MoreSo,the decision wasn't made during the interview..there must have been some preceded actions.

4)You remember that there was speculations about the resuscitation of PostUTME some weeks ago??...The Interview with him was meant for him to make a final VERDICT as regards the issue.
