It feels like all the people with brain have left this country. Look to your left and to your right.... Na mumu full everywhere

We have to fight against Brain Drain

well it is the system of our education that's making things to be difficult in Nigeria. Nothing is functioning at the moment in terms of education sector. All the unions in our universities are on strike. Three weeks gone already. Still no move to call off the strike. Its so painful we are witnessing this type of issues by the day in our education sector.

Nice work babe cool
However, I see studying abroad as more of an issue of finance /scholarship. Anyone who can get 6 credits including maths and English by their self can graduate with at least 2.1 from any western tertiary institution.
it isn't limited to 2.1. There are universities that offer admission to 2.2 and third class graduate too.

I acknowledged her persistence for keeping it up. Our education system is way demanding and tasking coupled with so many activities on and off campus. You will be groomed like a soldier going to face Boko Haram. Well, I will say it's been helping many of our products to easily thrice when they find themselves in that favorable environment. A friend of mine who was a low baller back in Eksu is currently topping his class at a Uni somewhere in Texas.
Most people are not just too good with pressure, but when they tends to find that conducive environment they will thrive by all means. Maybe not as the best, definitely gonna be competing...
the point here's that the way our education systems is built is different totally from abroad universities. These are reason why intelligent Nigerians will always come top in the class in all these schools. We really need restructuring in our education sector.

Coming from a barrage of hot 7-9 courses from OAU, 4 courses is nothing, and coupled with the fact that she's naturally good and in a very conducive environment for learning, it's safe to say it's expected. But then again she would have finished with a first class in OAU, if you are exceptional, you are exceptional any where.

Good evening all .
I am stuck between the devil and the raging inferno, pls I did my UNIZIK post utme registration all by myself but now I am at the last stage. I have paid and collected my pin from the bank. But the cybercafe I went to print out the remaining form said I should pay 2000 naira for the final step.
Pls who has done it before?
Can I still do it like I did others and can I use none coloured printer for it?
I don't know how the jamb thing works these days. But if I was to print something and my printer is bad, I would click print and then from the print window tab I would save it as PDF instead or xps format, though PDF is better. Then take the PDF doc in a flash drive to the cafe and pay N50 for black and white or N200 for coloured instead of N2000. That cafe wants to rip you off! You need to be smart about it! Learn how to use print window to save as PDF doc and print at your own convenient time/place.

So true
A Nl'er @ Warriboy graduated with a distinction from a US university but came out with a third class or so from UNIBEN with the same BRAIN.
A friend of mine who schooled with me in Ghana had to drop out because of academic probation. His GPA was below pass level. He's presently at Indiana university with a 3.8 GPA.

chances of her finishing with a first class in O.A.U would have been very slim.. that her year one result is not really exceptional in O.A.U. year one GP is always like that. m so sure, many of her colleagues then would have better GP in that 100L

Exactly. My CGPA at the end of year one was 4.9. A in all but one course for the entire year 1.

I struggled to make 4.6 by the end of 4th year.

Very slim chance of 4.53 eventually making a first class at the end of 5 years.

Well that's how we lose our best brains all because of the ineptitude of the wasteful government we have had over the years. The best black doctors In the U.S are Nigerians. Do you think they would come back to work in Nigeria where they would be owed salaries and worse working conditions plus their lives cannot be guaranteed because of Fulani herdsmen, kidnappings and assassins.

Anybody who dies for his country is a fool, gaskyia.

Nationalism is not built automatically, nationalism comes from the fact that the citizens see those in government do their all to better their lives. Trump might be controversial with his travel ban, plus his push to out immigrants, buh the truth is thst he does that because he loves his country and do not want it to be infested with all kinds of miscreants all in the guise of settling in immigrants.

We are still not ready for development

Oh my country!
But who do "US" this thing
I'm so sure she would have just graduated with a distinction(going by her initial CGPA) without setting any record if she had stayed back thanks to our ever frustrating educational system and lecturers who have sworn never to give you an "A"
They bombard you with so many borrowed courses that is irrelevant to your field

When I tell people I can't wait to leave this country for the three arms of government, some of them always come up with the cliche of "who will make it right if we all leave"
My late Grand Parents stayed back and fought to make it work and here we are still trying to make it work

But I'm not ready to let this country ruin me.
One country can not come and kill me.
When your country forces you to venture into bet9ja, then my brethren you really need to leave ASAP.

For everyone who has the means and also desires to relocate, Pls don't think twice about it - JUST GO INFACT RUN and if possible RUN with your FAMILY MEMBERS.

And whoever knows this rare gem should advice her to stay back and practice there (if she gets called and she really does stand the chance)
Brain drain? Yes!!!

But what have we achieved with the amount of scholars who came back after their studies?

A lot end up with stunted growth in their various fields due to the inefficiencies of our "Selfless Leaders"

I just want her to be in:

A place she'll be able to practice true judiciary without anybody hunting for her life.

A place she wouldn't be blackmailed with her past in order not to carry on with a case.

A place where she will not have to worry about the tag that "All Lawyers Are Liars"

A place she will not need to dance to the tune of politicians to make a name and a living

This country weak me!

This country weak me,, got me laughing loud, yet in tears.
I just laughed to receive a laugh healing.
May God help our nation.
Non challant life has eaten deep into the fabrics of our leaders.

She was already on First class before she went abroad . The courses in Nigerian Universities are not the issue. You can't be a lizard here and be expecting to live abroad as crocodile . She was already tested to be a first class product even in Nigeria university. Work on yourself and stop stop blaming Nigeria . I don't like Nigeria either but let the truth be told
